Netori: Stealing The Hero's Party!

Chapter 468: While Her Chosen Awakens

Left in a state of unrest inside her prison, Athenia didn't know what to expect to happen next. Now aware of the presence inside of Choux and the soon-to-be-revealed secret of Amedith's parentage, was bound to bring a flood–one that could once again wash away the faith the party had in her.

"Maybe it's time to tell the truth, after all?" Whispered her clone standing right beside her.

"What are you talking about?" Turning around to face the goddess and her clone, Cassiopeia glanced between the two, all the while Athenia was far too busy trying to see through the possible futures.

As present in the present, the past and the future, the goddess of mockery wanted the best possible outcome to be drawn from the sticky situation. Thus, looking far into the future and following the many branches of possibility, she stumbled on a few answers but the only one that stuck out to her was exactly what her clone had suggested.

"You might be right," opening her eyes, Athenia glanced sideways at her clone before heaving a defeated sigh. "It's no use trying to shield them from distractions if the secret behind their parentage becomes a secret, and in turn, a distraction of its own."

"What are you two talking abou–" Casseopea's words came to a sudden halt as the spirit of Elana channeled through her. Fluttering before her inside the fairy, Elanaria let her presence be known before lifting the fairy's head and glaring angrily into Athenia's eyes. "How many times are you going to mess with the mortal world? First, it was the gifts, then your constant meddling and now a divine part of your body?"

Recognizing who exactly it was who was speaking to her, Athenia leaned forward to get closer to the fairy's body.

"I did what I felt was for the best."

"And do you know what kind of torture that cost me?!" Elanaria screamed into Athenia's face as soon as she was finished speaking. And even as the shocked goddess pulled herself away, Elana was far from finished with what she had to say. "They'll have me on trial for betraying the heavens and siding with you in a few days, a handful of lesser gods are already on my tail, and I swear had it not been for the skies blanketing over their heads, the goddess would've condemned me to death that very instant!"

A moment of silence descended on the prison's occupants, but it didn't last for long as Athenia couldn't keep silent for longer than a few seconds.

"Don't you have the largest army amongst all current gods?" Her question only further infuriated the goddess, but she didn't stop there and continued to rival her intellectually. "Not to mention your chosen is possibly the only human capable of rivaling gods if she truly desires and aims to tackle that end."

Speechless for a few seconds and not because she was stumped but rather by sheer anger, Elanaria huffed and puffed in Athenia's face before taking a deep breath and looking up at her again.

"I'm severing all ties with heaven from this day forward, they'll hunt me as they have hunted you so don't try and provoke them into action," pausing for a moment to think how she'd defend herself in the meantime, Elanaria stumbled on the same advice Athenia had given her. "I'll use my army against the lesser gods when they come to me, but let's hope the council members aren't gonna pursue me more vehemently once I've scared those bastards off."

"Talk to Mono too," having peered into possible futures yet again, Athenia had more advice to shower. And although Elanaria wasn't too welcoming of her words at the moment, she let the goddess finish her thoughts. "Maybe she can turn those stars into soldiers? They're made of soul and metal after all. Who knows maybe one day that deranged sorceress can build a vessel to house her goddess, as well?"

As far-fetched as the idea was, if there was anyone in the world who could it off–it was the iron queen and that deranged mind of hers. Recognizing that Elana didn't want to discount Athenia's advice and wondered if her chosen could truly make her a vessel if the gods do come after her harder.

"I'll think about it," however, for now, she had to leave the prison as the lesser gods were bound to check up on her anytime inside her realm.

Disappearing along with the fairy, Elana left Athenia alone with her clone and in unnerving silence. Reminded of her mistakes and the troubles over the hero party's parentage, she turned her attention to Raven and the rest of the original hero's group again. Conjuring the mirror, Athenia peered through it at Raven wandering inside the Booty and Barrels after just being filled in on everything that had happened.

'That girl's still in the jewel, Mino's bound to tell someone about the book, Erika seems to have forgotten about the damn thing, and Asmodia looks like she's looking forward to the chaos that will soon ensue.'

Gathering as much information as she could as quickly as she could, Athena knew exactly what would happen once Amedith and Raven clashed after the truths were revealed.

And to make matters more confusing, Linkle who's barely survived the shipwreck was just about to teleport inside the inn with Seraphim, Riyanzah and the charred body of their brother. The man was dead but the other two siblings were just as dazed as they were before–however, thanks to the seal that stretched throughout the island, their magic was sealed and thus it was time for Raven to either kill or claim them for himself.

But that would come later, as for now, Athenia turned her attention to Mino and the book that she'd been hiding underneath one of the Inn's beds. The very room the bed was situated in was currently being occupied by Amedith and Liliyana–something fate itself might've had planned.

'This is gonna get ugly.'

At this point in time, even the goddess couldn't help but wonder…

'What kind of curses are on these islands? Nothing seems to go right on these damned things!'

Much like Raven, she amongst many other people wanted off the damned place as soon as possible.
