After a brief moment of thought, Luo Yi realized his companion's reasoning made sense. He stared at the huge lock on the door, deep in contemplation. "But who is imprisoning him? And why?"

"The only ones capable of doing something like this in a school would be the higher-ups," Zhen Jianren replied. "As for why he's imprisoned, I think we need to go in and ask him."

"Now?" Luo Yi shrank back a bit.

Zhen Jianren nodded, "Yes, right now."

"Wait!" Luo Yi turned his head and looked at Zhen Jianren, frowning. "If he really is imprisoned, why hasn't he run away? Or called the police?"

Zhen Jianren paused, clearly shaken by Luo Yi's words.

After a few seconds, he pressed his lips together and gazed into the empty courtyard inside, calmly stating, "I think I know how he lost that leg."

Upon hearing this, Luo Yi, who was right behind him, trembled slightly.

---

Zhou Taifu, wrapped in borrowed clothes, cautiously followed behind Yu Wen.

Zhang Yinyin was on the other side, a bit further away from the two.

"It's really cold," Zhou Taifu complained softly, hugging his arms, but at the same time, he noticed Yu Wen frown, so he straightened his neck and swallowed the rest of his words.

The three of them walked in silence.

Having not eaten breakfast, Zhou Taifu was both hungry and cold. When they passed by a supermarket, he quickly ran in to buy three cups of hot soy milk.

As he dashed out, several female students in line stared at his back, their expressions growing increasingly strange.

Holding the hot soy milk in his hands gave Zhou Taifu a little more confidence, and the pallor on his face slowly regained some color. "Miss Yu," he tentatively asked, "do you think it's dangerous for just the three of us to go to the music classroom? Should we call that Feng Lan after all?"

Feng Lan seemed to have some knowledge about the school's history and appeared to be relatively easy to talk to.

Most importantly, Zhen Jianren had tested it with his camera.

She wasn't a ghost.

Yu Wen stepped up the stairs, avoiding the puddle in front of her.

She didn't like the damp feeling; it reminded her of the time she spent with her companions in the rainforests of Southeast Asia.

Just when Zhou Taifu thought he was making a fool of himself, Yu Wen's voice came, "The ghost in this mission has already changed. Just because Feng Lan wasn't a ghost yesterday doesn't mean she isn't one today."

Zhou Taifu was startled by her words and hesitated before responding, "That can't be possible."

Before he finished speaking, Yu Wen, who was leading the group, stopped first.

Then, she slowly raised her head.

In front of them was a strange building.

It looked more impressive than the C building where the music classroom was located.

Once Zhou Taifu steadied himself and gazed at the building before him, he was momentarily at a loss.

"Where is this?" Zhou Taifu asked, instinctively looking at Yu Wen. "Aren't we supposed to go to the music classroom?" He paused and reminded her, "C building."

"Well, it seems we took a wrong turn," Zhang Yinyin, who had remained silent, suddenly laughed. Her laughter was quite strange, subtly revealing an indescribable vibe that made people feel uncomfortable.

Zhou Taifu looked at her but noticed she had turned to face him as well.

"Well, you can leave now," Zhang Yinyin said, removing the dinosaur onesie hood. Underneath was a neat short haircut, the ends slightly curling up, yet the sweetness was completely gone.

"Anyway, we've reached our destination."

At this moment, even Zhou Taifu, who usually lacked intelligence, realized what was happening. He stared at Zhang Yinyin's eyes in disbelief. "You never intended to go to the music classroom, did you?"

Yu Wen, who had remained as calm as a monk in meditation, slowly turned around, her gaze settling on Zhang Yinyin. After a moment, she spoke, "Do you want to live?"

Just four words.

Without any emotional fluctuation, it was as bland as a handful of plain water.

"It's not your place to question me," Zhang Yinyin replied, her youthful appearance now faded, "Hand over what you have, and I might consider cooperating with you."

"This way, we can all survive."

Yu Wen slowly shook her head. "I asked… do you want to live?"

Zhang Yinyin's face turned cold. It seemed the situation wasn't as optimistic as she had imagined; this woman before her was much more difficult to deal with than the woman in the cheongsam.

"What do you mean?" Zhang Yinyin's expression grew unfriendly.

Yu Wen maintained her icy demeanor. "I have something very important to do. It's very dangerous there, and there's no room for error. You can consider coming with me," she paused, "if you want to live."

Zhang Yinyin smiled coldly instead of getting angry. "You think you can control me?"

"So…" Yu Wen paused, raising her eyes. "Do you want to die?"

"Don't think you're the only one…"

Zhang Yinyin, who had been sneering, suddenly stopped. The disdainful smirk froze on her face.

The next second, a mouthful of fresh blood gushed from her mouth, the words she hadn't finished saying still lingering.

She unsteadily turned around, and what met her eyes was a cold face.

"You…" Her eyes were filled with disbelief.

Zhou Taifu carefully wiped the blade clean on the inner lining of his clothes, moving skillfully, his expression as calm as if he had just killed a chicken.

Zhang Yinyin's body swayed, then she collapsed to the ground.

Her consciousness gradually faded, blood oozing from her back.

"What should we do with her body?" Zhou Taifu retracted his dagger, glancing at Yu Wen. "Is it necessary to search her?"

From a higher vantage point, Yu Wen looked down at Zhang Yinyin's lifeless eyes, her dinosaur onesie soon to be covered in blood.

"No need," Yu Wen shook her head. "This place is remote; her body will disappear after a while if left here." After a pause, she continued, "Didn't you hear what she said? She thought the item was still with me."

Zhou Taifu frowned slightly, gasping for breath. "Then whose hands is it in?"

Currently, only two groups were left: Jiang Cheng and the fatty looking for Director Li, and Zhen Jianren and Luo Yi at the equipment center.

"Forget it," Yu Wen interrupted. "That Director Li, and the situation at the equipment center will probably not go smoothly. They might even die there."

"We didn't gain the upper hand this time, but as long as they all die…" Her gaze grew cold, "Then next time, the items will belong to us."

Zhou Taifu straightened his back, reluctantly nodding. "Looks like that's all we can do."

During the days spent on this mission, Zhou Taifu had always been hunched over, keeping his head down, making him appear completely like a pampered rich man.

Foolish and ridiculous, without any skills.

But now, he straightened his posture, even revealing some flabby flesh on his neck, his eyes filled with killing intent.

"In my opinion, we should take her body to the woods," Zhou Taifu licked his lips, glancing around. "I'm worried that some students or teachers might pass by and discover her, causing trouble."

To his surprise, Yu Wen shook her head. She first surveyed the surroundings before speaking with a strange expression. "No need. Haven't you noticed? There are fewer and fewer teachers and students showing up now."
