Or perhaps there are other secrets hidden in Building C?

Whichever it is, neither is good news for them.

He couldn't understand why the ghost would come after him instead of going after Jiang Cheng or the fat guy.

"Don't think too much about it," Yu Wen said cautiously, keeping her eyes on the road ahead. "From now on, don't touch anything unless it's necessary."

"But..." Zhou Taifu, still pale from fear, hesitated. "There are some places we can't avoid—"

Yu Wen gave Zhou Taifu a glance, signaling him to look where she was looking. He saw a small, thin figure ahead.

At the front, Feng Lan held her phone as a flashlight and softly reminded them, "Miss Yu, Mr. Zhou, it's dark ahead, be careful."

"You should worry more about yourself," Zhou Taifu muttered softly, so only he and Yu Wen could hear.

"Creak—"

"Creak—"

The sound of friction came from the women's bathroom at the intersection of two hallways.

The sound was faint, but strangely, it had an unexplainable allure. It was the kind of sound that made you feel like your soul was slipping away.

The wind quietly blew through the bathroom, causing a black leather strap left by the sink to stir, flipping over. Just as it was about to fall to the floor, it stopped mid-air in an eerie manner.

It was as if an invisible hand had caught it.

---

The sky gradually darkened, and the women's bathroom became blurry. Everything turned into deep black outlines, as though crushed and reforged in the darkness.

A faint light reflected off the mirror, showing a gleaming dagger.

The dagger was in the mirror, held by an indistinguishable black figure.

Meanwhile, the fat guy stared at the file of the only man in it, and countless infuriating scenes flashed through his mind.

The dead ballet girl, the missing male teacher, the students who graduated within just a few months, the school's name change, the canceled dance department, and the graduation photos devoid of any joy or life...

Even just piecing these clues together haphazardly foretold tragedy.

"Doctor," the fat guy said gravely, "I think that male teacher must have done something to the girl. She couldn't take it, so she committed suicide. After her death, she turned into a ghost seeking revenge."

"The school probably tried to cover up such a serious incident to protect its reputation and enrollment. To prevent it from happening again, they canceled the dance department and rushed the students to graduate. Later, they even changed the school's name."

"That explains why we haven't seen a single man in this school. After that event, they probably stopped hiring male teachers," the fat guy continued, then added, "And doctor, do you remember? All the security staff and cafeteria workers are women too."

"Except for us, this place is full of women," the fat guy licked his lips nervously. "This place is an ocean of women."

Jiang Cheng tilted his head, giving the fat guy a strange look that made him feel guilty.

"Doctor," the fat guy nervously swallowed, clutching the file folder, "If you've got something to say, just say it. Don't look at me like that, it's making my back hurt."

"Why did you lick your lips?" Jiang Cheng asked seriously.

The fat guy frowned, confused. "What?"

"I asked, why did you lick your lips when you mentioned the school being full of women?" Jiang Cheng repeated.

The fat guy was stunned. "Did I?"

"You did," Jiang Cheng nodded. "Try saying 'this place is an ocean of women' again."

The fat guy repeated, "Except for us, this place is full of women—it's an ocean of women." He paused and then licked his lips again.

"See?" Jiang Cheng said. "You did it again!"

The fat guy said, "Doctor... I don't think this is the time to discuss whether or not I'm licking my lips. We're in a dire situation here, and something terrible must have happened to that girl, leaving her filled with rage."

Jiang Cheng shook his head. "No, that's not it."

"Not it?" The fat guy's tone shifted, thinking Jiang Cheng must have uncovered something important.

Cautiously, the fat guy asked, "Doctor, do you think the problem isn't with the girl?"

"No," Jiang Cheng shook his head again. "I meant what you said earlier was wrong."

The fat guy, frustrated, retorted, "Can we please drop the lip-licking thing? Are we seriously still on that?"

"No, I mean before that."

"Before that?" The fat guy blinked and then slowly repeated, "Except for us, the school is full of wom—"

"That's enough," Jiang Cheng cut him off, leaning forward with an oddly serious tone. "This school isn't entirely full of women. There's still one man here."

The fat guy fell silent for a moment before an image of an old, pale face flashed in his mind.

Indeed, there was one other man. But instinctively, he had ignored him because... the man was too old and had a crippled leg. Even if you wound back the clock ten years, he'd still be too old.

He didn't seem to have either the motive or the ability to commit such crimes.

"Doctor," the fat guy said awkwardly, "Are you seriously suggesting that guy could... still...?"

"Who knows?" Jiang Cheng spread his hands. "I hit puberty late—I'm still getting acne. Maybe that guy matured even later than me. Even though he looks old, maybe his... skills are still sharp."

The fat guy quickly interjected, "Doctor, stop messing around. Late bloomers like you are probably one in a million. Don't give that old guy too much credit."

"And besides, if he were as cunning as you, he wouldn't be in such a sorry state now," the fat guy concluded confidently.

Unfortunately, the man in the photo was standing off to the side, and due to the poor camera quality, his face wasn't clear—just a vague outline could be seen.

With no more clues, the two decided there was no point in discussing it further. They packed up the camera and file and prepared to leave.

After checking, they realized the camera battery was down to 10%, with the battery bar turning red. It wouldn't last much longer.

And despite searching the camera bag thoroughly, they couldn't find a charger.

"Let's go," Jiang Cheng said, patting the camera bag. "Looks like we'll have to visit the equipment room—maybe we can ask the old man for a charger."

"Doctor, I admire your optimism," the fat guy muttered, following closely behind. "I just hope we don't end up needing more than just a charger."

Jiang Cheng suddenly stopped in his tracks.

The fat guy, puzzled, looked ahead. Jiang Cheng had opened the door, but the scene outside made his eyes widen in shock.
