Chapter 3:
Chapter 3: Parents Were Called!
“Huh?”
Zhang Li pointed to herself. “Me and Lin Fan? What’s going on?”
As she spoke, she gestured for Lin Fan to follow her.
The two of them left the classroom.
Watching Lin Fan’s figure disappear through the doorway, Tao Yaoyao couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth.
“Wasn’t that the language teacher from Class Three of the third year, Li Wenjuan? Did Lin Fan really go confess to Su Muqing just now?”
Everyone in the class knew.
Lin Fan had always liked Su Muqing.
But he had never dared to confess.
Because of this, they often teased Lin Fan about Su Muqing.
No one expected that the usually timid Lin Fan would suddenly change so much.
The others didn’t know what was going on with him, so they all turned to Tao Yaoyao.
“Peach, what’s up with Lin Fan? He’s not the troublemaking type.”
“Yeah, exactly!”
“That teacher was from the third year. Could Lin Fan have gotten into trouble with one of the seniors?”
“Doesn’t seem like him, though!”
“…”
Everyone was talking over each other, making Tao Yaoyao wave her hands impatiently. “I heard he went to confess to Su Muqing. I don’t know what’s gotten into him. Alright, stop bothering me!”
“What?!”
Hearing her words, everyone froze in shock.
Although they had joked about Lin Fan confessing to Su Muqing and speculated that she might agree, the key point was…
They didn’t mean he should do it during class!
Why not meet in the woods behind the school? Or after school, when they were heading home?
“Quiet! Just because the teacher stepped out doesn’t mean you can start chatting!”
Tao Yaoyao took on the authoritative tone of a class monitor, her face stern as she silenced the room.
Sure enough, everyone immediately quieted down, though a few whispered among themselves.
“Don’t mess with the monitor.”
“Yaoyao likes Lin Fan, but Lin Fan likes Su Muqing… a love triangle.”
“Shh! Don’t let Yaoyao hear that, or you’re done for!”
“Don’t worry!”
“…”
…
(Outside the classroom)
Zhang Li finally got the full story from Li Wenjuan.
“You didn’t go to the restroom just now? You went to confess to Su Muqing?”
Zhang Li stared at Lin Fan, wanting confirmation.
After all, it didn’t feel right to only hear one side of the story from Li Wenjuan.
Although Zhang Li was usually strict with her students, she was also known for fiercely protecting them.
“Yes, teacher.”
Lin Fan nodded and took a step back, bowing apologetically to both Zhang Li and Li Wenjuan.
“I’m sorry for causing trouble, teachers. But I promise this won’t affect my or Su Muqing’s studies. Please don’t worry.”
“How could we not worry!”
Li Wenjuan looked at Zhang Li with a stern expression.
“Teacher Zhang, you know how much the school values Su Muqing. She’s a strong contender for becoming the provincial top scorer. We absolutely can’t let anything jeopardize that!”
“I understand.”
Zhang Li gave an apologetic smile.
No one in the school was unaware of Su Muqing.
She was beautiful, an academic star—who wouldn’t admire her?
However, Lin Fan was her student, and as his teacher, Zhang Li felt a bit guilty.
Though she wasn’t too angry, Zhang Li believed that blocking relationships wasn’t as effective as guiding students. If they could support each other and make progress together, it might not be a bad thing.
But confessing during another teacher’s class?
That was inappropriate.
Zhang Li turned to Lin Fan and scolded him. “Lin Fan! Do you know that school is a place for learning? How could you do this?”
“I understand, teacher. It won’t happen again,” Lin Fan admitted his mistake immediately.
“This matter requires us to call your parents!”
“We need their help to keep an eye on you two!”
“I’ll contact Su Muqing’s parents now,” Li Wenjuan said firmly.
“Teacher Zhang, I’ll leave Lin Fan to you.”
She wasn’t going to let this slide and was determined to eliminate any potential distractions for Su Muqing.
After speaking, Li Wenjuan turned and left.
“Sigh…”
Watching her walk away, Zhang Li sighed and pointed at Lin Fan. “Can’t you keep a low profile? Confessing in someone else’s class—what were you thinking? Come here, let me check if your head is full of mush.”
As she spoke, she actually reached out, as if to inspect Lin Fan’s head.
“Don’t mess around, teacher.”
Lin Fan couldn’t help but laugh, speaking cautiously. “You’re not angry, are you?”
“Angry? About what? Even I like that Su Muqing girl. So, of course, a brat like you would.”
Zhang Li rolled her eyes at him.
“Thank you for being so understanding, teacher!”
In his previous life, Lin Fan had always been grateful for Zhang Li, especially for how protective she was of her students.
Still, her open-mindedness this time was a bit surprising.
“Don’t thank me yet. We’re still calling your parents, so get ready for a scolding.”
Zhang Li pulled out her phone, likely searching for Lin Fan’s parents’ contact number. She suddenly looked up and asked, “By the way, did Su Muqing agree?”
“She did.”
“Excellent! No wonder you’re my student! Even someone as outstanding as Su Muqing likes you!”
“…”
Lin Fan felt that Zhang Li’s focus was a little different from other teachers.
But she was still adorable in her own way.
…
An hour later, Lin Fan and Su Muqing both arrived at the office of the academic affairs department.
Their fathers were there too.
