Chapter 70: Chapter 70
At the same time, the Straw Hat crew made their long-awaited arrival at Fish-Man Island.
"This is Fish-Man Island! The legendary underwater kingdom!"
Nami's voice was filled with awe as she gazed at the stunning scenery of the undersea world. The vibrant, dreamlike beauty of the Fish-Man Island left her at a loss for words.
"I can't wait to go inside!" she exclaimed excitedly.
Franky chimed in, his voice steady and commanding.
"Hold on tight, everyone. Once we near Fish-Man Island, we'll encounter a strong current. Brace yourselves!"
The crew quickly secured their footing as they prepared for the turbulence, but their excitement was far from dampened. The thrill of exploring a new part of the world filled the ship with eager anticipation.
Despite Luffy's absence, the crew had fully embraced the challenges of their journey into the New World.
Luffy, meanwhile, sat atop a dolphin, sipping leisurely on a cup of tea.
"Not bad. This is pretty good," he remarked with satisfaction.
"Leave it to Hancock's touch to make such excellent tea."
He nodded to himself, recalling how Boa Hancock had prepared and gifted him some of her finest tea leaves before he left. Ever since then, the tea had been a staple for him, a source of comfort in moments of peace.
Somehow, Luffy had developed a fondness for tea. It was the only thing that reminded him of his past life.
Yes, in a way that no other food or delicacy could, tea carried with it a nostalgia for something Luffy couldn't quite put into words.
The taste—simple yet profound—felt uncannily familiar, mirroring what he once enjoyed in his previous life.
Of course, the quality of Hancock's tea was far superior to anything from back then.
Still, whenever Luffy drank tea, he couldn't help but reminisce.
"In the past…" Luffy began, his tone wistful.
"I used to sit in front of the TV, munching on spicy snacks and drinking tea.
"It was the best!"
"And on top of that…"
"I'd watch One Piece."
The memory brought a grin to his face, and he couldn't help but chuckle.
Now, here he was—no longer just a viewer of the story, but its very protagonist.
Monkey D. Luffy.
"Who would've thought?" he mused aloud.
"No more spicy snacks, though… Hmm?"
Suddenly, his expression brightened as an idea struck him.
"Wait a second! I can make spicy snacks!"
Though Luffy wasn't much of a chef, he felt confident he could recreate the taste from his memories. After all, with the power of his Conqueror's Haki, he could accomplish many things that others would deem impossible.
All he needed to do was recall the flavor from his past life and manipulate the molecular structure of the ingredients. Surely, he could create something similar to his beloved snacks.
The thought filled him with excitement.
"This is gonna be great! I just need the right ingredients and a quiet place to work on it," he said to himself.
His Haki spread out in all directions, scanning the area.
Not long after, his senses picked up something interesting—a small island just a few dozen miles away.
Luffy's eyes lit up with enthusiasm.
"Perfect! Talk about luck," he said with a laugh.
Without hesitation, he directed the dolphin toward the island.
It wasn't long before the island came into view, but as Luffy got closer, he noticed something unexpected.
"What's this?" he muttered, his curiosity piqued.
The island wasn't just any ordinary landmass—it was a Marine base, likely one of their branch offices.
Several ships were docked nearby, and the base itself bustled with activity. Luffy observed for a moment, using his Haki to gauge the situation.
"A Marine base, huh? Looks like there are over a thousand soldiers stationed here.
"There's even a Rear Admiral in charge, along with a few other officers."
He nodded to himself, unconcerned.
"This isn't a problem. These guys won't be much of a threat."
With that, he guided the dolphin closer to the shore and dismounted, moving quickly and quietly onto the island.
At the water's edge, a group of patrolling soldiers failed to notice his arrival.
They acted as though they couldn't see him at all, their gazes sliding past him without registering his presence.
This, of course, was the effect of Luffy's Haki. With precise control, he had suppressed his presence, rendering himself undetectable to their senses.
Unbothered, Luffy walked past them, heading deeper into the base in search of the ingredients he needed for his experiment.
Before long, Luffy's Conqueror's Haki scanned the Marine base and pinpointed the location of the kitchen.
Without hesitation, he made his way there, his steps casual and deliberate. Every Marine he encountered along the way failed to notice him, their senses dulled under the subtle influence of his Haki.
With his hands stuffed nonchalantly into his pockets, Luffy strolled through the base like he owned the place.
"Hmm?"
Suddenly, his steps halted.
Luffy's eyes widened, his gaze fixated on something—or rather, someone—that had completely caught him off guard.
"Holy crap!"
He blinked, barely able to process what he was seeing.
Luffy's jaw practically hit the floor, and a bit of drool escaped the corner of his mouth. It had been ages since he'd encountered a beautiful woman, and the sight before him was enough to leave him utterly stunned.
She was breathtaking.
A woman with flowing pink hair that cascaded in luscious waves, paired with a playful fringe that framed her delicate face. She radiated an aura of both cuteness and elegance, her figure striking the perfect balance of charm and allure. Even from behind, she exuded an irresistible magnetism.
Luffy's eyes roved over her with a surprisingly analytical focus.
Compared to Nami and Robin, this woman's beauty stood out in a unique way. She didn't quite match the divine allure of Boa Hancock, but even so, she was unquestionably a top-tier beauty—perhaps on par with a master swordswoman's grace and allure.
"Hmm…"
Luffy nodded to himself as if coming to a conclusion.
It had been a long journey, and the loneliness of the sea was starting to weigh on him. Encountering such a captivating woman in the middle of a Marine base felt like a stroke of fortune.
"It'll do," he muttered, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
His standards might have slipped a little due to solitude, but that didn't matter. She was leagues above nothing, and that was enough for Luffy.
Abandoning his original goal of finding ingredients, Luffy decided to focus entirely on meeting this woman.
Unbeknownst to him, the pink-haired beauty was not just any Marine—she was a Lieutenant Commander. Clad in her crisp Marine uniform, she carried herself with poise and authority, her demeanor a striking blend of discipline and charm.
At that moment, she was in her private quarters, soaking in a steaming bath. The mist rose around her, enveloping her in a veil of dreamy, ethereal beauty.
