ONE PIECE: Dawn of a New Era

Chapter 82: The City Of Beginnings

A few hours passed and the Red Sash Pirates had officially made it to 'The Town of Beginnings'!

LOUGE TOWN

Hopping off the ship and onto the busy and crowded docks, the captain looked around. The Skies above seemed to be rather over cast, yet still had a bright blue tint to them. Perhaps Later in the afternoon it was going to rain?

"Man! This place is Busy! I wonder how many people here are actually headed to the Grand Line!" He said twisting around, resting his hands on his hips and shading his eyes with eyes. "We'd best get all the supplies we need for the Journey! It'll probably take all day to get everything bought and loading it up onto the ship!" "But that begs the question...Should we all split up or stick together?"

The Dock were crowded with dozen of people chattering as far as the eye could see. Ships went as far out into the harbor as to only be accessible through boating in on a dinghy. But luckily for the Red Sashes, they were able to find a spot and squeeze in. Barrels were hoisted through the air as workers hauled them around, stalls immediately within view of the dock that sold anywhere between jacket to sacks.

The architecture was large. Multistory buildings, made of brick and wood. Though no buildings ever reach above ten stories!, there was still staggeringly wide buildings to compensate. These places can be quite wide and large. Everything seemed so densely packed, the streets opened into wide berths before going into confined squashed spaces where people were almost shoulder to shoulder. The roads made of Cobblestone could be heard as the distinct sound of horse clops trotted along them.

Ropes for laundry connected building to building, but as well bundles of wires did as well, some buildings even having narrow wooden plank brides connecting them together.

After all, Louge Town itself was home to over one million people.

"I say we should stick together." Kirk said quickly, looking down at a journal in his hands while following the group along. He was way less invested with the actual town compared to trying to figure out what they needed. He was writing things down and figuring out their budget, they didn't have much left after Cocoyashi.

"Who knows who's out there. Marine's probably are swarming this place… it's like a candy shop for those guys. And not to mention the pirates that could be here!" Kirk was going to get way too paranoid if he started to think too far into the future. He might even convince himself that they could die here.

"Well… soon though, the best choice is to split up into… hmmm-" He did a quick headcount of their crew. "I'd say we should split up into two teams when I figure out what we need, one of two and one of three."

As they spoke, Noir's eyes were wandering absentmindedly around the place. He wasn't a big talker it seemed. He just responded whenever he was needed and kept to himself… although there were moments he would get noticeably distracted when a particular pretty woman passed by every so often.

Kále would stand away from the group, just listening to what they were saying but not interjecting anything of his own. He was still wearing his cool outfit from earlier, but he was wearing the black undershirt now, just missing the jacket of course. Kále didn't much care for splitting up into groups. He knew where the ship was and he would definitely remember where it is. He only had one goal in mind while he was in Louge Town, he wanted to buy another sword. He didn't have any money, but that's where Kirk would come in handy of course.

"Hey Gills. I need some money for a new sword." Since Kirk had resorted to calling Kále 'Skunk' on the ship earlier, Kále thought up his own nickname for Kirk. "I should only need about... 100,000?" Kále was lying, he didn't know how much swords cost, he didn't assume they were too expensive though. He just wanted the spare money to buy food for himself.

Jeanne yawned a bit as they got to Loguetown. She had spent most of the night prior working on her ammunition work. She even had a shopping list all together. Kirk suggested splitting into groups which made sense to her. She groaned and pinched her brow as Kále just flat out called Kirk 'Gills'.

"I have several stops I have to make for both my ammunition and my weapon.", she would say scratching her cheek. She could probably go with Kále, but she didn't exactly want to be responsible in case he wandered off.

Kirk frowned and furrowed his brow at Kále at the new nickname. It was… a rather plain one, but oh well. Kirk didn't really care since he had been a bit rude to Kále already so it was fair. He just hoped the swordsman wouldn't forget his actual name and start thinking his name was literally just 'Gills'. His eyes bugged out as soon as Kále named that price, looking mortified.

"What the hell!? What kind of sword are you looking for that costs that much!? Are you TRYING to make us poor!? The most I'd give you for that kind of crap is 60,000 and I'm being generous here! You don't need 100,000 for a sword!"

Kirk pinched the bridge of his nose with a sigh before turning back to his journal, writing some stuff down again. "So, if both Jeanne and Kále need weaponry…. You two can go off together…" He half mumbled to himself as he spoke, his eyebrows pushed together as he thought. Noir piped up soon after.

"I can go with them too. I need to find a few more kitchen utensils anyways and those stores might be near one another.." While it was… slightly true that he needed stuff for the kitchen like some more skillets, pots, and just generally food.. he wanted to hang around Jeanne more! As if he was going to let such a magnificent woman as her wander around this dangerous place without protection!

"Though, if it isn't too troubling, could you find the ingredients I need for the ship?" Kirk nodded and handed off the journal he had to Noir, flipping to a new page. "Sure can, just write what you need here and I can see what they have." He started to fish a few baggies of berries from his pockets to give to the three.

"Me and Leroy will get supplies then or whatever else catches our eye. Don't spend all of your money in one place! If you don't have enough money for something we REALLY need, find me and I'll see if I can steal it, got it? It better be worth it, though."
