Chapter 109: Chapter 109: Jarzburg

Chapter 109: Jarzburg

Charlotte nodded hurriedly and walked toward the kitchen without paying much attention to the excited crew members.

But after seeing their captain awake and walking, the crew quickly ran to the deck, shouting excitedly:

"Captain! Captain! The boss is awake! The boss is awake!"

Suddenly, the entire ship came alive with cheers and movement.

Paul and Isaac, who were patrolling the deck, immediately ran toward the cabin after hearing the commotion.

"Where's the boss?" Paul asked, searching the captain's room, only to find it empty.

"The boss went to the kitchen!" one of the crew members passing by said nonchalantly.

"Damn it! Why didn't you say so earlier?" Paul cursed, frustration evident in his voice, as he and Isaac sprinted toward the kitchen.

The crew member muttered, "How was I supposed to know you were looking for him?" before continuing to clean the deck.

---

"Boss! Are you okay?" Paul burst into the kitchen, his voice filled with worry, only to find Charlotte devouring food with an almost feral hunger.

Charlotte paused briefly, glaring at Paul while holding a piece of barbecue in one hand and bread in the other.

"Get lost! I'm not dead! Why are you crying? Don't disturb me while I'm eating!" Charlotte snapped, then resumed his meal.

Paul exhaled in relief, ignoring the scolding. He was used to Charlotte's temper.

"Hehe, Boss, you've been in a coma for three days. You scared us all to death! You should've seen your sister-in-law crying her eyes out over you," Paul said with a sly grin, leaning in close.

Charlotte glanced at Elena, who immediately shot Paul a sharp look, her cheeks tinged red.

"Stop spouting nonsense!" she hissed, embarrassed.

Paul scratched his head and backed off, laughing nervously.

Charlotte studied Elena for a moment, noticing the fatigue in her eyes and the redness that hinted at tears.

"You cried for me?" Charlotte asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"No!" Elena replied curtly, shaking her head.

"Really?" Charlotte pressed, his piercing gaze holding hers.

"No! Who would cry for a fool like you?" Elena retorted, holding back her emotions.

Realizing she was close to snapping, Charlotte decided to drop the subject, knowing better than to push her further.

---

Under the astonished gazes of the crew, Charlotte ate non-stop for two hours.

The ship's cook, overwhelmed, was working so hard that his spatula started to smoke.

When Charlotte finally leaned back, satisfied, he stretched with a groan, the sound of his joints popping echoing through the room.

"Boss, we're near the Kingdom of Endless War," Paul informed him.

While Charlotte had been eating, Paul and Isaac had taken the opportunity to report on the events of the past three days.

They told him about their decision to skip Fishman Island, Carter's earlier message, and their current course toward Jarzburg in the Kingdom of Endless War.

Charlotte raised an eyebrow at the mention of Jarzburg, a flicker of recognition crossing his face.

"The countdown to the Battle of God Valley has begun," Charlotte murmured, his thoughts a mixture of excitement and tension.

As he walked onto the deck, the warm sunlight greeted him, and Charlotte couldn't help but smile.

He showed no signs of distress about his recent defeat at the hands of Admiral Kong.

---

Charlotte reflected on the battle as he stood at the helm, gazing out at the sea.

He realized that he was far from being able to challenge someone of Kong's caliber. His speed and strength weren't at their peak, and in close combat, he couldn't keep up with Kong's rhythm.

From the beginning, Kong had suppressed him, leaving Charlotte unable to counterattack effectively.

Even his advanced Observation Haki was insufficient to close the gap between their abilities.

The admiral's Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki were unmatched, and his steel-like physique lived up to his moniker, "Steel Bone."

It was a humbling experience, but also a valuable lesson.

Charlotte clenched his fists.

"I need to train harder," he muttered.

Losing was not the end; it was staying down after losing that marked true failure.

He shook his head, pushing aside negative thoughts.

"How long until we reach Jarzburg?" he asked the navigator.

"Boss, we'll arrive in an hour or two," the navigator replied, studying the chart.

Charlotte leaned over to look at the chart, spotting the island.

The corners of his mouth twitched as he saw how small it was, yet it housed five or six kingdoms.

"No wonder it's called the Kingdom of Endless War," he said with a wry smile.

"Where are we docking?" he asked.

"There's a deep-water port in Jarzburg that serves as the main docking point for merchant ships," the navigator explained.

The name "Jarzburg" stirred something in Charlotte's memory. After a moment, it clicked.

"Douglas Bullet," he murmured.

Charlotte remembered the infamous "Demon Heir" who hailed from the Kingdom of Endless War. In the future, Barrett would become a fearsome pirate, rivaling even the most powerful figures of the era.

If the timeline was correct, Barrett would be only seven or eight years old now.

A plan began to form in Charlotte's mind.

"If I can recruit him while he's still young, he'll become a valuable ally," Charlotte thought, his excitement building.

Barrett's potential was undeniable. If nurtured properly, he could become an unstoppable force.

Charlotte's eyes gleamed with determination.

"Jarzburg, here we come."
