Chapter 186: Chapter 187: Meteorite Falling From Heaven
Vista looked down and saw that the ground below was covered with countless silk threads, forming what truly resembled a massive birdcage.
The enormous Birdcage encased the entire island of Dressrosa, its range constantly shrinking. As it tightened, the island was rapidly being sliced into countless smaller parts.
Below, countless pirates and Marines relentlessly slashed at the Birdcage with swords and bombarded it with cannons. Yet, their attacks left no mark, unable to damage the seemingly indestructible threads.
Vista frowned slightly, then shifted his gaze to the sky. Suddenly, he slashed upward, releasing a surge of powerful fruit abilities into the air.
Pica, watching the attack, initially thought Vista was targeting him. His expression twisted in fear, but he quickly realized the blade had missed entirely. Pica hesitated for a moment before laughing derisively.
"It seems you've been terrified by the might of Young Master Doflamingo!" Pica taunted. "You're so frightened you've missed completely, slashing at the sky instead!"
Vista stroked his black beard and smirked darkly. "Big guy, just watch."
As Vista's words fell, Pica grew suspicious. "Even if this man's an idiot, there's no way he'd miss a target as large as me. So why aim at the sky?"
Pica glanced upward, and his expression quickly changed. High above, a small dot appeared, rapidly growing larger. Within moments, the dot expanded to the size of a millstone, accompanied by a deafening roar.
Darkness enveloped the sky as a massive, flaming meteorite pierced through the atmosphere. With a blazing tail of fire, the meteorite plummeted toward the earth with terrifying speed, aimed directly at Pica.
The overwhelming threat struck Pica immediately. He knew that no matter how strong his defenses were, they could never withstand such a catastrophic impact. Panic overtook him as he realized his impending doom.
Suspended mid-air with no way to anchor himself, Pica shouted frantically, "Vista, move me away now, or you'll die here too!"
But Vista merely smiled, his expression calm. "Don't worry about me. I'll jump out of the way when it's time. You, on the other hand, will die here."
Pica roared in anger. "Vista, you bastard! If you've got the guts, fight me properly! I won't accept being defeated like this!"
Vista chuckled. "Whether you accept it or not doesn't matter. You're going to die. Since you refuse to join me, there's nothing more to discuss. Goodbye, big guy."
Vista activated his awakened fruit abilities and moved swiftly away from Pica's position. The meteorite, now an inferno of destructive force, hurtled closer.
Pica, overwhelmed by the meteorite's immense heat and pressure, finally broke. "Alright, alright! I'll join you! Just get me out of here!" he shouted in desperation.
Vista grinned. "A wise decision," he muttered, his mind already formulating a new plan.
---
Vista envisioned the perfect strategy. Pica's Stone-Stone Fruit would allow him to absorb and manipulate stone, creating a floating island in the sky. With Pica's cooperation, Vista could turn him into a movable fortress. They could even build a base on Pica's massive stone form, storing ships and supplies on the "island." Wherever they needed to travel, Pica could transport everything with ease, eliminating the need for traditional navigation. It was genius.
The meteorite finally crashed, its impact generating a colossal explosion. Shockwaves from the blast flung both Pica and Vista away, though they escaped major injuries. Flames engulfed the area, but Pica trembled as he realized what could have happened. Had the meteorite struck him directly, he would've been reduced to rubble and ash.
Pica sighed in defeat. "This damn Vista... he's my nemesis." He reconsidered his loyalty to Doflamingo. If this new crew could truly defeat Doflamingo, was there any reason to die for him? Survival came first.
---
Vista surveyed the battlefield as the meteorite's impact left a massive crater in the Birdcage. Despite the destruction, the Birdcage's resilience was astonishing—it continued to enclose Dressrosa, albeit weakened.
Vista chuckled. "Doflamingo's abilities are impressive," he admitted. "But even this Birdcage can't hold up against Rebecca."
Rebecca stood ready, wielding her supreme blade, the Sword of the Four Souls—a weapon forged by legendary blacksmiths. Her sword, coupled with her fruit abilities, perfectly countered Doflamingo's String-String Fruit. With her full strength, she could easily dismantle the Birdcage.

On another side of the battlefield, the intense fight between Koby and Vergo raged on.
The two warriors clashed with pure Haki. Vergo's Armament Haki penetrated Koby's defenses with every strike, his powerful attacks leaving an undeniable mark. The relentless battle showed no signs of ending.
