In a private guest room behind the Mermaid Café, Wright met the café's owner, the renowned fortune teller, Miss Shyarly.

After thanking the mermaid hostess who guided him, Wright stepped into the room. From the moment he arrived, Shyarly appeared visibly surprised. She had asked the hostess to prepare some specialty desserts but had remained silent otherwise.

"Miss Shyarly, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Shyarly, dressed in a purple hooded top, seemed different from her future self, who would be known for her long smoking pipe. With her short black hair and striking blue eyes, she carried an air of cool elegance devoid of the usual carefree demeanor.

"A human… You give off a rather peculiar aura."

Shyarly's voice held a hint of curiosity. As a gifted fortune teller, she occasionally experienced mysterious sensations regarding fate and destiny. This time, the human before her intrigued her enough to skip her usual practice of discussing fees upfront. She couldn't help but wonder—what kind of future would this man's fortune reveal?

"Oh? It seems Miss Shyarly truly is a powerful fortune teller. You've already noticed something, even before starting the reading?" Wright teased lightly.

"Heh… Perhaps I'm just feeling overly sentimental lately," Shyarly chuckled. The news brought back by Queen Otohime had profoundly impacted every fish-man and mermaid on the island.

"So, dear guest, what would you like to have foretold?"

Wright fell silent for a moment before speaking softly, "I want… a glimpse of my future."

"Your future? That's quite a broad concept," Shyarly remarked as she retrieved a crystal ball and carefully placed it on a padded stand. "If it's something so general, the reading will likely only reveal a single scene or fragment. However, based on my experience, whatever appears will inevitably come true."

"That's fine," Wright replied with a calm smile. "Even a glimpse is better than complete ignorance. Though, I assume there's no telling when the revealed scene might occur?"

"Correct." Shyarly focused her attention, and the crystal ball began to emit a faint glow. "Interpreting the vision will be up to you."

The crystal ball's glow stabilized, and images slowly emerged within.

Shyarly's eyes widened. Within the vision, the figure of the human youth before her appeared briefly, only to dissolve into pure golden light. Beyond that, there was nothing—just an endless, radiant glow!

"This…"

Shyarly was at a loss. In all her years of fortune telling, she had never encountered such a result. Even the vaguest of readings would at least produce a still image. What was this supposed to mean?

"Could the crystal ball be malfunctioning?"

To test it, Shyarly attempted to foresee the future of the mermaid hostess who had brought in the desserts. The crystal ball showed the hostess, hand in hand with a tall, young merman, laughing joyfully.

"Eek! Miss Shyarly, you're so mean!"

Blushing furiously, the mermaid hostess set down the desserts and fled the room, leaving Wright and Shyarly to stare at each other in bemusement.

"Hmm… It seems the crystal ball is working just fine," Wright remarked, scratching his head. He took a bite of the Fish-Man Island specialty dessert. "Mmm… Delicious! No wonder…"

"No wonder what?"

Shyarly's curiosity about Wright deepened. If the crystal ball wasn't the issue and her fortune-telling abilities were intact, then the anomaly clearly lay with the human before her.

"Nothing," Wright replied, savoring the treat. He could now better understand why Big Mom had been so eager to claim Fish-Man Island as her territory after Whitebeard's death.

"It seems Miss Shyarly cannot reveal any part of my future," Wright said with a smile.

"Does that mean I've transcended the cycles of fate, beyond the world? Destiny can't touch me?" Wright mused to himself, clearly amused.

Was this a perk of being a transmigrator? Or perhaps it had something to do with the Holy Light's presence, a power unknown to this world?

At the very least, it reassured Wright that he could act freely without fearing the crushing wheels of destiny.

"You seem like someone with secrets of your own… May I know your name, human?"

Only now did Shyarly realize she hadn't even asked for his name before conducting the reading—a rarity for her. It felt as though the forces of fate were particularly chaotic around him.

"My name is Wright. I'm… a doctor," he replied, unconsciously resting a hand on the hilt of the long blade at his waist. Human pirates weren't uncommon on Fish-Man Island, and even fish-men and mermaids often carried weapons, so his sword didn't draw much attention.

More importantly, "Ashes," now imbued with the power of the Holy Light, no longer exuded its distinctive aura, making it less conspicuous.

Shyarly glanced at Wright's hand, which instinctively touched his sword. Was that a subconscious habit when lying?

"Alright, if you say you're a doctor, then a doctor you shall be," she replied with a sly smile. Her cool beauty carried a unique allure, though thankfully her attire was relatively modest.

"Ahem! I truly am a doctor, no doubt about it!" Wright chuckled before falling into thought. Looking at Shyarly reminded him of something. "Miss Shyarly, I heard… you have a brother?"

"…"

Shyarly was taken aback. This was something many on Fish-Man Island knew, but how did a human learn of it?

"How do you know? Have you met him? How… how is he now?"

Though she disapproved of her half-brother Arlong's violent ways, Shyarly had never denied their familial connection. Arlong had once been a prominent figure on Fish-Man Street, later joining the Sun Pirates, only to be captured by then-Vice Admiral Borsalino and imprisoned in Impel Down. He had recently been released following Jinbe's appointment as a Warlord of the Sea but reportedly parted ways with Jinbe due to ideological differences. Arlong had since reformed the Arlong Pirates and headed to the East Blue.

"I've only heard of him. After all, Jinbe joining the Warlords is a significant event even in the human world. And Arlong's reformation of the Arlong Pirates targets my homeland, the East Blue…"

Wright's eyes gleamed briefly with golden light. "I assume he left Fish-Man Island not long ago. If he causes trouble in my homeland, I'll spare him once—out of respect for you, Miss Shyarly."

"…"

Shyarly sighed, lighting a lady's cigarette and silently taking a puff.

"You call yourself a doctor, yet you say things like that…"

"My brother… Arlong… we haven't shared any bond for a long time. Even on Fish-Man Island, he's infamous for his greed and cruelty. However, he's never harmed his own kind," Shyarly said seriously, fixing her gaze on Wright. "If you're willing to spare him once on my account, I deeply appreciate it. But I won't ask for more."

"Understood. I'll take my leave now."

"And for the record, I truly am a doctor… Who knows? Perhaps we'll meet again."

With a cryptic smile, Wright departed, preparing for his next destination.

At that moment, he sensed a signal from the direction of Gyoverly Hills—his Lightforged Beacon Crystal had been triggered!

"It's time."
