One Piece - I'm Whitebeard

Chapter 383: 382 The Generals, Fight Aftermath

The battle between Enel and Marco ended, but it led to a better understanding and, to some extent, improved their relationship.

After all, they're all crewmates. Though Enel had previously attack and hurt Marco, he has now joined the Whitebeard Pirates.

So Whitebeard naturally considered how to alleviate any lingering suspicions. Marco's request for a challenge fit perfectly with Whitebeard's intentions.

Whitebeard hoped this battle would help them become more reliable companions. After the fight, Marco left immediately.

He couldn't afford to stop training. This was Marco's foremost belief. Besides, with Capone Bege assisting in handling the daily affairs of his first Division, Marco had plenty of time to focus on his own training.

As for Enel, his understanding of Marco improved significantly. Previously, he had deeply despised Marco, but after this battle, he would no longer underestimate his opponent.

"Your strength is quite impressive,"

Kuzan remarked, appearing behind Enel after the battle had concluded.

"And you?"

Enel turned to look at Kuzan, curious. Having recently joined the Whitebeard Pirates, he wasn't familiar with many of its members.

"Ah, you've just become the Whitebeard Pirates' General,"

"There are only two of us in this rank." Kuzan briefly explained

"So, are you stronger than Marco?"

Enel asked curiously, a hint of surprise in his expression. He had assumed that within the Whitebeard Pirates, Marco was second only to himself and Whitebeard.

Now, with another person holding the rank of general alongside himself in Whitebeard pirates, Enel had no reason to doubt it, as Whitebeard had indeed informed him of this.

"Ah, Marco's strength is growing fast, but he's not my match,"

Kuzan remarked casually. It wasn't arrogance, but a fact that had been proven.

"What's your name?" Enel asked, frowning.

"Kuzan."

"Having seen the battle just now, do you think you could defeat me?"

Enel asked again after seeing nonchalant look on Kuzan face

"Your strength is indeed very strong, and you use Observation haki very well. Among the people I have met, you should be one of the best."

Kuzan said as he did not answer Enel's question directly.

Because of this question he couldn't give an accurate answer, and because of this, Kuzan couldn't wait to fight with Enel.

"Observation Haki?"

Enel was a bit puzzled by the term, as he didn't understand its meaning at all. However, he had heard multiple people mention it in passing.

"Don't you know what Observation Haki is?"

Kuzan was a bit surprised. He found it puzzling that someone as powerful as Enel could master it so skillfully without even understanding its fundamentals.

After some thought, Kuzan considered that if Enel didn't even understand Whitebeard, it was unlikely he knew about Observation Haki, or perhaps it was known by another name.

So Kuzan explained what Observation Haki is: "Observation Haki is the ability to sense the auras or changes in the surroundings of living beings. It's usually used to predict danger and other events."

With this explanation, Enel understood, immediately responding, "So that what it is, in my case, this ability is called Mantra."

"Mantra?" Kuzan found the name unfamiliar, but he thought it sounded quite interesting.

"Enel, Kuzan, you two know each other. Now, with only the two of you as Generals, your strengths are relatively close. But Kuzan, Enel just fought a battle today. Even if you want to fight him, let's not rush at this moment,"

Whitebeard's voice suddenly interjected.

Enel and Kuzan looked over at the same time, and basically shouted together, "Oyaji."

"Oyaji, I understand. I just want to talk to him and get to know each other,"

Kuzan explained promptly.

Meanwhile, Enel glanced at Kuzan, realizing that their strengths may indeed be quite similar to each other, he thinks. When Whitebeard mentioned it, Enel naturally believed him.

"It's good for you two to get to know each other. Enel, you'll need to stay in touch with him in the future. Kuzan, like you, also joined the Whitebeard Pirates not long ago,"

Whitebeard said to Enel.

"I see," Enel replied.

Whitebeard nodded in satisfaction. Suddenly, someone reported that the Revolutionary Army was calling.

As the officer of the Whitebeard Pirates, Benjamin answered the Den-Den Mushi instead of Whitebeard. During the call, Sabo explained that the leader of the Revolutionary Army, Dragon, wanted to meet with Whitebeard.

After Benjamin informed Whitebeard, he naturally agreed. Following a discussion between the two parties, they settled on a time and place for the meeting.

Since both parties are targets of the government's attention, they naturally couldn't afford to be conspicuous, so their arrangements were kept relatively secretive.

During this time, Bege, Kid, and Killer gradually got used to life after joining the Whitebeard Pirates. Bege's ambitions seemed to have waned slightly.

Bege is now the second-in-command in Marco's division, just like the Kid and Killer. Within the Whitebeard Pirates, they enjoy unprecedented freedom.

Under the protection of the Four Emperors, no Marine dared to cause trouble, nor did other pirates. Such peace and security were unfamiliar to them, as since becoming pirates, they had been relentlessly pursued.

Despite their initially weak strength, now, with the reputation of the Whitebeard Pirates backing them, even when they venture beyond their territories, others greet them with great respect upon seeing the Whitebeard banner.

As a result, Bege, Kid and Killer have come to consider the Whitebeard Pirates as their own, while other Supernovas continue to develop in their own distinct paths.

For example, Trafalgar Law, captain of the Heart Pirates, was at that time somewhere in the New World. The Heart Pirates sailed the seas, Law and his crew deep in discussion over a big problem.

"Everyone, you all know that killing Doflamingo has always been my goal. I've been waiting and preparing for this moment. Now is the time to make it happen. Any ideas?"

Law asked his crew.

"Captain, we all support your goal. You're our captain, and we'll follow your lead. But Doflamingo is a Shichibukai, and I've heard he still has a connection with Kaido. With our current strength, won't it be too much to fight him right now? Maybe it's too early"

Penguin, one of the senior members of the Heart Pirates, expressed his concerns.
