One Piece: Please Call Me Godfather!

Chapter 12: 12

Jackson whispered softly beside Reinhardt, "Godfather, the one coming is not friendly."

Reinhardt nodded gently.

The Navy's actions were predictable.

In the past, the world of Loguetown's underground was divided into factions, and although the Ulysses family was dominant, they were not invincible. Thus, the Navy did not pay much attention to them.

But now, things were different. No other force could stop the Ulysses family. Soon, they would become the rulers of Loguetown's underground world.

To become the true rulers of Loguetown, the Navy could not allow such a situation to arise.

Whether driven by interests or a pursuit of justice, Francklin would inevitably suppress the Ulysses family.

Hadn't this come?

Reinhardt smiled and raised his hand, gently swiping it, parting the originally crowded Ulysses family members, creating a path, "It's Colonel Francklin, here to talk."

Not to mention how surprised the family members were when they were directly pushed aside by telekinesis, but seeing Reinhardt's move, Francklin's pupils contracted quickly, and the shock in his heart was hard to describe.

What kind of power does this guy have?

The telekinesis ability was indeed powerful, but its only flaw was that it lacked specificity, it was simple and natural.

Although shocked in his heart, Francklin's face showed arrogance, his imposing aura marching through the path Reinhardt had opened for him.

"You brat, gathering so many people, are you planning to attack the Navy base?" Francklin sneered.

Even though he only led a small team of sailors, facing over a thousand Ulysses family members and the inscrutable Reinhardt, Francklin was still unfazed.

After all, he shouldn't be afraid; Reinhardt should be the one to fear.

Because behind him was the most powerful Navy in the world!

Reinhardt smiled, "Colonel, you're joking. Everyone knows that our Ulysses family is a humble, honest merchant family. I just recently took charge of the family, and hosting a staff conference is a very normal thing, right?"

I can't listen to your nonsense.

Francklin's eyebrows twitched with irritation, "If you're a merchant, then be honest about it! I don't want to see any disturbances in Loguetown again!"

"We also hope for the same," Reinhardt smiled and said. "A stable environment is beneficial for trade, isn't it?"

Francklin snorted coldly, "Better be that way. I'll keep an eye on you. You better not let me catch any suspicious behavior, brat!"

After saying this, Francklin turned and left with his navy subordinates.

The Navy came in a hurry, then left in a hurry, seemingly just to warn Reinhardt.

"Let me catch this bastard, Godfather!"

Bartolomeo was excited as he watched the Navy leave.

This guy was surprisingly proactive.

No wonder, at this moment, Bartolomeo, moved by the Straw Hat Pirates, was a completely different person. He had no intention of going to sea and his only life goal was to make money with his comrades.

Reinhardt paid him a high enough salary, so of course, he was very motivated.

"No need to rush."

Reinhardt, with an expressionless face, ended the meeting and then called Jackson and Bartolomeo into the study.

Butler Sidley brought in a pot of hot black tea along with some pastries, then closed the study door and quietly stepped out.

Without paying attention to the tea, Jackson anxiously said, "It seems like our struggle objective has shifted to the Navy. Godfather, this is not an easy opponent to deal with."

The Navy was, of course, difficult to handle. They were the true rulers of the vast oceans!

Even the four Pirate Emperors of the New World would be inferior before them.

"What's there to fear? That guy is bound to cause trouble with his words, just get rid of him," Bartolomeo said nonchalantly, drinking tea and eating something. He had suffered quite a bit of injury earlier and needed to eat something to recover his strength. "At worst, we'll go to sea and become pirates."

Reinhardt praised, "Bartolomeo is not wrong. If we were not speaking from the perspective of our church's principles, which teach us certain values, then we could kill anyone we wish."

"But, there's no need to go to such extremes."

Reinhardt picked up his cup of black tea, took a gentle sip, and the rich, sweet flavor instantly filled his entire mouth.

Butler Sidley, having served the Ulysses family for decades, had perfected the art of tea making.

Putting the cup down, Reinhardt said, "That Colonel can become our friend."

"Huh? You're serious, Godfather?" Bartolomeo almost choked on his tea and pastries, patting his chest while pouring more tea into his cup. "The Navy and us, we've always been in opposing positions, haven't we?"

"This world isn't so simple that it's just black and white."

Reinhardt smiled, then asked Jackson, "Uncle Jackson, do we have any friends in the Loguetown Navy?"

"Of course," Jackson nodded in response.

"Very good. Friendship is a good thing. The family needs as many friends in the Navy as possible. I believe our friends will be willing to help us make connections. You take care of this, Uncle Jackson."

"Leave it to me."

Reinhardt added, "By the way, these friends of ours should be very happy to provide us with Colonel's information, right?"

"They'll definitely be happy," Jackson smiled. "If they're not, then there's no hope for happiness."

"Very good. What they call friendship is about mutual effort, right, Uncle Jackson? Don't let our friends suffer any injustice."

Bartolomeo felt somewhat left out and hurriedly asked, "What about me? What should I do, Godfather?"

"Your mission is equally important."

Reinhardt looked at him, "Loguetown is a bit too noisy at night. I think, as long as there's one voice left, it will be enough. What do you think?"

Bartolomeo's eyes lit up, excitedly saying, "Got it, leave it to me, Godfather! This mission is perfect for me!"

"But, Godfather," Jackson said, "Francklin will probably keep a close watch on us. If we act now, we might anger the Navy in an instant."

"It doesn't matter, our friends will help us. This is the importance of friendship."

Reinhardt smiled, "Trust me, this is not a difficult task. After all, Bartolomeo, you're enough to handle this on your own, right?"

"Of course!"

Bartolomeo proudly spoke, "In Loguetown, besides you, Godfather, I'm not afraid of anyone!"

"Very good."
