One Piece: Rising to Power as a Warlord of the Sea

Chapter 74: Chapter 74: The Candidates for the Seven Warlords

 Cough, cough, Natsu, Natsu?!ヽ(ຶ▮ຶ)ノ!!!

Seeing his eldest grandson, Garp was taken by surprise, instinctively swallowing the entire doughnut, almost choking to death. He quickly pounded his chest to recover, then looked up and down at Natsu.

"Yo, Grandpa, you're not ignoring me, are you? (•‾̑⌣‾̑•)✧˖"

"Hmph, what are you doing here?!" Garp's face, once filled with joy, instantly turned cold as he coldly questioned.

"Hehe, of course I came to visit you! Now I'm a Warlord of the Sea, a partner of the Navy, so it's quite normal for me to drop by!" Natsu said with a smile, stepping back a couple of steps and pulling out a huge sack from the corner of the meeting room.

"Here, this is a gift. It's filled with all kinds of doughnuts and tea bags!"

"Hmm, at least you have a bit of conscience. I'll accept it," Garp said, trying to control his excitement as he reached out and grabbed the large sack, speaking in as calm a tone as possible.

"Hehe, heh, heh! Truly enviable, the bond between grandfather and grandson!"

Before anyone realized, Doflamingo appeared on the window of the Navy headquarters, casually leaping down with an arrogant stride.

"Envious? Why don't you try calling me 'grandpa' as well?!" Natsu turned around and casually said, causing Doflamingo's face to turn ashen with rage, almost unable to restrain himself from slicing Natsu into pieces.

"Hmph!" Doflamingo sneered, walking past Natsu with a cold air. He thought to himself, If only I wasn't outmatched, I'd show you a few tricks.

Doflamingo backed down! The surrounding Navy members were shocked—after all, Doflamingo was known for being utterly unrestrained, even within the Navy headquarters.

No one expected that he would be put in his place by Garp's grandson.

Everyone began to look at Natsu differently. Clearly, these two had some sort of complex history.

"What are you two doing here? Get in there and start the meeting! This isn't the time for you to chat!" Sengoku, seeing Natsu and Garp chatting, walked over with a dark face. He gave Natsu a once-over, noting that he looked nothing like Garp, but something about him reminded Sengoku of a past genius. If he were in the Navy, perhaps the position of Admiral would have changed by now.

Time has passed, and now new pirates were emerging from all over the world, causing the Navy great headaches. Everything stemmed from Roger's actions. Fortunately, that guy didn't leave any descendants behind. Otherwise, his evil bloodline would undoubtedly stir up more chaos.

Little did Sengoku know, Ace, who was about to embark on his journey, and another reckless brother from the Monkey family were preparing for a new era to come.

As Natsu had subtly altered the plot a bit, what kind of changes would it bring to this world?

Not long after, in the World Government's conference room, the Navy and the Seven Warlords began to take their seats.

Sengoku sat at the head, waiting quietly. The meeting wouldn't officially begin for another hour.

"Admiral Sengoku, Warlords Bartholomew Kuma and the Fish-Man Jinbe have arrived!"

Half an hour later, Kuma and Jinbe entered the conference room.

"Cough, cough, since no one else has arrived, let's start. I'm sure you all know why you've been called here. As you know, there are two vacancies in the Seven Warlords. Thanks to Natsu, we're short two people. Do any of you have any candidates to recommend?"

Sengoku coughed and cast a pointed glance at Natsu, clearly blaming him for the situation.

Feeling the gaze, Natsu pretended not to notice and slowly took a sip of tea, savoring it.

"Hmm, the tea is quite good!" Natsu casually commented, completely ignoring Sengoku.

"Natsu, don't you have anything to say?" Seeing that Natsu wasn't reacting, Sengoku ground his teeth and asked.

"Me? I don't have anyone to recommend. How about we just change the Seven Warlords to Six? Honestly, it's better not to appoint a weakling. If we're just going to appoint some newbie who gets beaten by a rookie, then the Navy and the World Government's judgment is truly lacking!"

"You—" Sengoku was instantly rendered speechless. He had asked for a recommendation, and Natsu went ahead and changed the name?! At this moment, Sengoku realized that Natsu's thinking was very much like Garp's.

"┐(´-`)┌, I told you I had no suggestions!" Natsu shrugged and took another sip of tea.

"What about you all?" Sengoku looked around at the others, hoping someone would step forward with a serious suggestion.

"Hehe, heh, heh! Sengoku, why not let Crocodile become a Warlord again?" Doflamingo spoke up as he placed his foot on the table, arms outstretched with a smirk, suggesting Crocodile.

"He?"

Sengoku paused, thinking for a moment. He knew Crocodile was a powerful user of the Sand-Sand Fruit, with great potential. For ordinary pirates, he was a fearsome figure, but a failure like him made Sengoku reluctant.

"Anyone else?" Sengoku pressed.

"Tch, boring!" Doflamingo scoffed.

"Well then, let's put it aside for now!" Sengoku glanced at Kuma and Jinbe, who were sitting silently, clearly frustrated by their lack of input.

"Alright, moving on to the next matter. I've heard there's a man who recently appeared in the northern part of the New World. He's been causing a lot of trouble, and we need to stop him. As Seven Warlords, you are obligated to cooperate with the Navy in capturing him. This is an official directive. We have discovered the whereabouts of the notorious pirate, Shiki the Golden Lion, and all Seven Warlords must participate. Anyone who refuses will lose their position as a Warlord."

Sengoku rubbed his head, clearly troubled. Recently, Shiki had been wreaking havoc, destroying animals, and even making entire islands in the New World disappear. This formidable man wasn't engaging in meaningless actions, and the Navy needed to take countermeasures.

The Seven Warlords were the best candidates for the job. After all, they were just a bunch of trash, and if they died, it was no loss.

For justice, Sengoku was willing to do anything. In terms of justice, Sengoku and Akainu shared similar views, but while Sengoku's justice could be flexible, Akainu's was absolute—he would sacrifice the Navy if necessary.

"Shiki the Golden Lion? Admiral Sengoku, I remember his bounty was around 4.8 billion. If I capture him, will there be a reward? •ᴗ•"

Natsu's eyes lit up at the mention of the high bounty. So much wealth could fund his next 50 consecutive pulls. Although Shiki was aging, Natsu wasn't worried. Compared to the Smile Pirates, the Golden Lion Pirates had little threat now.

"Hmm, this could be worth something!"

"Bounty? ╰_╯╬ Sure, I'll give it to you!" Sengoku's face darkened, clearly unhappy with Natsu's obsession with money.

Thinking back to the CP organization's investigation, the Smile Pirates didn't leave behind a single berry after defeating rival pirate crews—they even took all their weapons and gear.
