Chapter 63: 63. Whiskey Peak - Nico Robin
Chapter 63: Whiskey Peak – Nico Robin
"Miss All Sunday?" Nami asked, hearing the name coming from Vivi.
"So she is a number agent of Baroque Works?" Gin asked.
Hearing this, they all turned to the woman looking at them with an otherworldly stare. She appeared to be staring through them, though she somehow also carried with her some sort of tranquil feeling.
"So who is she partnered up with?" Goku asked. He was glaring at the woman as he felt that feeling once again—the feeling of being drawn to someone for a grander purpose he had yet to realize. It was the same feeling he had for Nami, for Vivi, and now this mysterious Miss All Sunday.
"Please listen closely, everyone," Vivi said as she tried to regain some composure and catch her breath. "This is Miss All Sunday. Her partner is the leader of Baroque Works—Mr. 0 himself, Warlord of the Sea Sir Crocodile."
Everyone's eyes widened in shock at the revelation, except for Usopp and Sanji, who didn't really understand anything that was happening. They just saw the seriousness etched on the face of Goku and knew that some strange things were happening.
"It seems to me that you have been quite unfortunate from the start, Miss Wednesday," the woman continued. "I showed you what you wanted to know, but instead of using that properly, you join a group of mere pirates?"
"Mere pirates, you say?" Goku asked in an unnaturally serious tone. "A bunch of small-time bounty hunters dare look down on he who will stand atop the world?"
Upon hearing those words, the woman looked a bit surprised. Her eyes appeared to widen, revealing her beautiful pupils before returning to normal. The devilishly attractive smirk returned to her face once again.
"Monkey D. Goku," she said. "Interesting look. Those with your name certainly are interesting. Why would you be willing to risk the life of your crew for the sake of some princess from a kingdom you've never even heard of?"
Goku didn't immediately reply. He took a moment to think before looking back at his crew, who were all standing behind him. He turned back to the woman with a slight smirk.
"I can assure you that not a single member of my crew is weak enough to consider your little organization a threat!" he said.
The woman's smirk widened and turned into an actual smile at that. She looked so stunningly beautiful under the starlight that Goku's heart nearly skipped a beat.
"Such confidence for a rookie pirate captain," she said. "Let's see if you are still that confident after a week in the Grand Line!"
"Enough bullshit!!" Goku snapped. "Did you kill the old fuck that was on the boat?" he asked as he gestured to the flames on the ocean of the tiny boat.
"Yes," the woman answered without any hesitation.
"Does that mean you are here to kill the princess as well?" Gin asked.
Goku didn't need to say anything as he took out his tonfas. Zoro unsheathed Yubashiri while Sanji took a fighting pose. Nami also took a fighting pose with her bo staff, while Usopp readied his slingshot.
Despite being completely outnumbered and outgunned, she still stood there with all her confidence. Just as she was about to react, Goku raised his right hand.
"There will be no more fighting from you," Goku said to his crew. His attention still focused entirely on the woman.
No one said a thing in defiance. They all knew that Goku had a reason for saying this. They all knew he didn't need their strength in handling her. If he so wished, the woman could be gone in a flash. One by one, they all lowered their guard and their weapons.
Suddenly, Goku closed his eyes in concentration. The entire area started shaking as he raised his aura, which enveloped him in a brilliant blue light. An aura that waved and sounded like flames.
"Choose your next course of action very carefully," he said with a final-like voice. "Depending on what you do now, it might be the last thing you do on this earth!"
His words of warning carried a weight she had never even imagined. The killing intent oozing out of him sent a shiver down her spine.
The young woman, Nico Robin, regained her composure. She looked at Goku with a newfound level of interest.
"Interesting…" she said.
Suddenly, she reached into her jacket pocket and threw something at Goku. Almost nonchalantly, he grabbed it from the air. Immediately, he recognized it as an Eternal Pose, similar to the one Igaram had. There was one minor difference: this one had the name of another island—Nanimonai Island. Inspecting the hourglass-shaped Pose, Goku turned to the woman with a questioning look.
"Nanimonai Island is a nearby island to Alabasta," she began. "With its direct route, you won't run into those sent by Baroque Works."
"Why are you helping us out?" Vivi asked. "We followed you to find the name of Mr. 0. It was also you who told him we found out his name. You were also the one who just killed…" Tears overwhelmed her before she could finish the sentence, forcing her to once again turn to Nami's chest as she continued to wail and sob uncontrollably.
"I have no idea what is going on, but it seems to me like your actions contradict yourselves!" Sanji said.
"My actions are none of your concern," Robin coldly answered. "Accept my help or don't. I don't really care much for it! Are you, however, willing to take the chance, or is your naivety and pride getting in the way of it?"
In that very moment, Goku crushed the Eternal Pose in his hand. He then proceeded to throw the crushed remains of it at Nico Robin.
"You're not the one to decide where this ship will sail!" he said in a chilling voice. "I tire of this nonsense. Either do what you came here to do or get the fuck outta here!"
For a moment, Robin's mouth hung open at his actions. It turned into a smile soon, however.
"You are very interesting indeed, Monkey D. Goku," she said. She proceeded to jump toward what appeared to be some sort of turtle with a passenger area on it. "I hope we meet again in Alabasta… if you survive the Giants!"
"What could she mean by that?" Usopp asked.
"Maybe she knows something about our next island," Nami guessed.
"All of that doesn't really matter anymore!" Goku intervened. "Get on board, everyone! We are setting sail now!!" he added.
With that, everyone climbed aboard the Going Merry. They raised the anchor, unfurled the sails, and untied from the dock. Within a few minutes, the ship was sailing through the river of Whiskey Peak and making its way toward the next island.
On deck, Goku stood at the ship's figurehead. He stared out at the front—the darkness of the ocean that awaited them. As he looked around the remains of Whiskey Peak after his rampage, he felt the pull of events that had transpired. He did not like being this vulnerable. Being controlled to this degree was something that gave him a helpless feeling. He did not like feeling this helpless. He could not just be following the path that had been laid ahead for him. He needed to take some control over some things. In that very moment, he had an idea. He suddenly launched from the ship and high into the sky. Fortunately, the moon was still mostly covered by clouds, which didn't make him transform into an Oozaru. Still, he had a plan, and he just met someone who could prove pivotal.
He closed his eyes and started thinking of the direction she went. He began flying toward the direction she flew as he tried to look for her ki signature. Because of the pretty small levels of ki in this world, it was hard to find someone, but because of the memories of the original Goku, he was used to sensing ki no matter the minute differences. Soon, he found her already a ways away, so he opened his eyes and shot out like a rocket toward her direction. Soon, he saw her riding atop the turtle amidst the starlight, added with the indirect moonlight.
Soon, he started his descent and got straight down, hovering in front of the creature so abruptly that she was launched straight at him. He effortlessly caught her in his arms.
"What the?" Robin asked. Everything happened so quickly she barely had any time to react. "What are you doing here?" Looking down, she could see he was literally just effortlessly hovering above the ocean. "How are you able to fly?" was her next question.
"It's a long story, but you and I need to talk," Goku went straight to the point as he placed her down on the seat.
