Chapter 237: Chapter 237: Undercover Agents in the Navy

Flying Sky Pirates

"Captain, I've found out that the Roger Pirates have been searching for the Poneglyphs throughout the New World recently," Reinhardt reported as he approached the Golden Lion.

"The Poneglyphs contain clues about the location of the Ancient Weapons. It's possible that the Roger Pirates have already uncovered some key information regarding these legendary weapons."

"Gyahahaha! Ancient Weapons? The ones said to have the power to destroy the world?" Shiki's laughter echoed through the room, his eyes gleaming with ambition. "That's perfect! If the Flying Sky Pirates get our hands on one of these, then…"

The Golden Lion's imagination ran wild, envisioning the glorious future where his crew ruled not just the New World, but the entire world.

Since the World Swordsmanship Tournament and their recent victory against the World Government, the Flying Sky Pirates had been expanding their intelligence network. Their primary goal was to uncover any covert actions taken by rival factions, such as the Infinite Pirate Crew's hidden operations or the movements of the Navy and the World Government.

In the New World, only two pirate crews commanded Shiki's attention: the Infinite Pirate Crew and the Roger Pirates. Whitebeard, despite his strength, was dismissed as a lesser threat in Shiki's eyes, with only Whitebeard himself being of any note.

Noticing the Roger Pirates' peculiar behavior, Shiki had ordered a thorough investigation, which had led to Reinhardt's discovery.

---

"Have we confirmed if the Roger Pirates have found an Ancient Weapon?" Shiki asked, his excitement barely contained.

"We're not sure. Only Roger and his crew know for certain," Reinhardt replied with a shake of his head.

"Then it seems I'll have to force Roger to tell me," Shiki said, his wild grin hinting at his readiness for a confrontation.

Shiki understood the strength of the Roger Pirates, especially the top-tier powerhouses like Roger, Rayleigh, and Gaban. However, he trusted his own crew, particularly Reinhardt, a Logia-type Stream-Stream Fruit user, and Harold William, a Mythical Zoan Gryphon Fruit user.

While neither Reinhardt nor Harold had reached the level of Rayleigh or Gaban, their combined strength, along with Shiki's 15 squad captains and an army of 200,000 men, gave the Flying Sky Pirates a fighting chance.

"Captain, if we engage the Roger Pirates, won't it give other pirate crews, particularly the Infinite Pirate Crew, an opportunity to take advantage of us?" Reinhardt cautioned.

Shiki chuckled confidently. "No. In a way, Li Yuan and I are the same kind of people. We're different from Roger. He won't make a move."

Shiki's assessment was astute. Li Yuan was calculative, ambitious, and pragmatic. Both he and Shiki shared a common enemy in the World Government. As long as Shiki didn't provoke Li Yuan or attack the Infinite Pirate Crew, their alliance of convenience would remain intact.

"Since you're certain, the only question left is whether we can actually defeat the Roger Pirates. They may have fewer numbers, but their elite strength is formidable," Reinhardt noted.

"For now, let's not rush into action. Keep tailing the Roger Pirates and investigate the places they've visited. Once we confirm they've found clues to an Ancient Weapon, we'll make our move," Shiki ordered.

In the Shogunate's Mansion, Wano Country

Li Yuan sat alongside Shakky, watching as a young man approached.

"Captain!" Elliott Munis greeted Li Yuan with a respectful bow, his eyes filled with uncontainable fervor.

"Munis, I remember rescuing you from a slave ship eight years ago. Back then, you were just a little boy. It's hard to believe six years have flown by, and now you're all grown up," Li Yuan said with a hint of nostalgia.

"Yes, Captain. My entire family was killed, and I was taken by slavers. It was you who saved me, giving me a new life," Munis said gratefully.

Since his rescue, Munis had been raised by a loving adoptive family within the Infinite Pirate Crew's territory. To repay Li Yuan's kindness, he had trained diligently at the Infinite Sword Academy, aspiring to one day join the crew.

"Good. I have a mission for you, Munis," Li Yuan said, his tone serious. "I want you to join the Navy and climb its ranks, eventually infiltrating its core leadership."

"You don't have to accept this mission. It's entirely up to you. If you decline, you're free to leave and never mention this conversation to anyone," Li Yuan added.

Over the years, Li Yuan had cultivated a network of potential infiltrators for the Navy and World Government. Munis was among the most promising candidates. However, Li Yuan never forced anyone into such roles, knowing that unwilling participants were unlikely to succeed in deep cover operations.

"Captain, I accept the mission! I will never regret this decision!" Munis declared resolutely.

"Excellent. Keep in mind, though, that you won't be able to see your adoptive parents for a long time. I'll give you a month to spend with them. Once you've established yourself in the Navy, I'll arrange for periodic reunions," Li Yuan said, nodding in satisfaction.

"In the Navy, I won't ask you to do anything specific. Focus on becoming a competent officer and advancing your rank. The Infinite Pirate Crew will provide you with covert support."

---

After Munis left, Li Yuan met with 20 other candidates, ultimately selecting 15 for infiltration missions. These individuals, though not exceptionally gifted, were chosen for their unwavering loyalty to Li Yuan.

"Shakky, I'll leave their identities and cover stories to you," Li Yuan said.

"Don't worry. This is my specialty. In five or six years, these seeds we've planted will start to bear fruit," Shakky replied confidently.

She was well aware of Li Yuan's strategy. Each year, more agents would be inserted into the Navy, ensuring that, over time, a significant portion of the Navy's middle and upper ranks would be loyal to the Infinite Pirate Crew.

Over the next year, Li Yuan devoted himself to refining his mastery of the Vampire Devil Fruit. His strength grew rapidly as he developed his abilities, although further progress would now require sustained effort and time.

"Ah, this is the life!" Li Yuan sighed contentedly, reclining under a sunshade. The warmth of the sun, combined with the sight of mermaid girls frolicking in the water in shell-based swimsuits, was a feast for the eyes.

"Darling, does it taste good?" Shakky asked, feeding him a grape. Her

voice carried a playful allure that only added to the idyllic moment.
