Chapter 53: One Night to Recruit
Even Lili had the good grace to blush at this.
After all, they had all been friends and training partners since childhood. The task had the forbidden feeling of getting it on with your sister…
They all started to think about the likely pairings and what they would be asked to do. No one voiced the obvious question though, as they all squirmed on their seats. It might seem like you were asking for a particular partner…
"Yes, I'm sorry about that, but the consorts assure me it's a huge male fantasy. So I'm afraid it's a means to an end."
"I don't get it," said Loveday. "I find the idea of watching two men together a real turn-off. Why would they like to watch two women together?"
"They're men," said Delphi flatly. "I think we need look no further than our own dear future husband, the Emperor. He apparently needs one hundred women to satisfy him. I guess men can't have enough of a good thing when a bit of power goes to their heads."
She continued on; "after we draw them out of their hiding places with the sexy show, each of you will be paired with a guard, and we'll be wrestling them."
The girls burst out with gasps of surprise; their eyes wide.
"Is it a serious match? Should we try to win?" asked Ruby, who was understandably apprehensive given her size and weight.
"That bit's up to you all," said Delphi. "This is where the honey trapping gets serious. That relationship with your guard is yours to own. The end game is to get close in the match, seduce the man, withdraw somewhere private, and use the night to recruit them to the rebellion. I'll leave how to do that up to each of you. Use your training. Read the man. Only go as far as you have to, but go as far as you have to…"
"If you can get him there, the commitment we want is to get them to agree to a gorilla tattoo of initiation tomorrow morning. If you don't trust him, or you can't turn him, you'll all have a sleeping draught to give your guard, and we'll eject him from the facility before he wakes up. The dragons will be the backup if it all goes south."
"Lili, get the generators kicked off so we can operate the lights. Loveday, you're in charge of getting the pumps up and running to get the water kickstarted. Make sure you flush the pipes out for at least an hour. India and Ruby, come with me, we'll find the other exit so you can go hunting and get some 'party food' for tonight. Arrie, seeing as you love music so much, you'll be the DJ."
The girl was dancing already, in anticipation.
"Winter, you're in charge of the outfits. There should be a uniform and civvies room on the ground floor. As sexy as you can find. We need string bikinis for underneath. Feifei, ferret out the muscat please and set it up with glasses in the training room. You'll need to sample a few casks to make sure they're still good."
Delphi knew she could trust Feifei with this task and that she wouldn't get rolling drunk. The other girls looked enviously at Feifei. Best job! Winter's was a close second.
"I'll go down and get the dragons prepared," said Delphi. "As soon as you get the power on Lili, close the doors for now. We don't want them open before we're ready to go. I'll write the entry codes on the whiteboard with a bit of charcoal. Once you've committed them to memory, the last one of you to learn them should rub them off. I know how to change the codes, so if anything happens to one of you and you're captured, God forbid, don't worry if you have to share them."
The girls all knew that that meant that if Delphi herself was captured, she would never give out the codes, no matter what torture she was put through.
"After Lili gets the lights on, start to gather in the training room on the floor below us once your jobs are done. I'll map out the wrestling plans down there. Any questions?"
They all shook their heads. The nervous excitement in the room was palpable now.
"Let's go then. Lili, we'll all help you with that generator first, so we can see what we're doing in here."
The military complex had been designed to operate completely off the grid and be fully self-sufficient, as well as to be able to be shut down when under attack.
According to the plans, there were industrial battery banks, a solar farm that had been covered since the War, and generators fed by the solar panels.
There should still be fuel on site; fuel had been completely depleted on the Island. There were huge food stores and banks of seeds in the basement levels, as well as artificial lights for underground food growing, and an extensive greenhouse area hidden on the flat rooftop of the tallest silo with facilities for beehives and keeping chickens and messenger pigeons.
The team helped Lili switch on the fuel-based generators to get the ball rolling while the solar panels did their thing, after they mastered the bank of machinery that controlled the operable roof to the solar farm. It wasn't long before they had the electric lights working.
"Let's go Ruby, Indy," called Delphi.
The three girls traipsed down the stairs. Delphi felt like she knew this place already, she had spent so many hours studying it.
Below ground, they arrived at the entrance to a tunnel. Delphi entered a code into the keypad and another mechanical lock opened two huge doors. These had been designed to operate without power in an emergency, she realised.
Ahead of them was a long tunnel, lit with emergency lighting. It was huge; wide enough for troops to come and go.
"I'm coming with you," Delphi said. "I need to know how to get back in through this entry, and we'll hide the dragons in here. Bring some food back for them too."
"It's good that you're coming with us Delph," said Ruby. "This long tunnel gives me the creeps. I can't even see the end of it."
"It leads to a secret entrance inside a hamburger joint," said Delphi. "I guess they figured no one would question lots of soldiers wanting to eat a burger."
After Delphi had walked back to the ladder and found the dragons, she rode Miro and brought the dragons and horses through the faded fast-food joint into the tunnel.
She left him there with instructions to come out and help them if he heard her whistle, or if the lights in the tunnel were switched off.
