Chapter 76 - A Viable Strategy for Taking Down Bosses
“Use your Undead Fusion Art to restrain the Blood Hell Demon Guard, I’ll kill the Blood Hell Sword Guard.”
With a beckoning of his right hand, Jiang Cheng issued a command to Zhang Mengmeng. He didn’t care whether she understood, and set off towards the Blood Hell Sword Guard Arman.
Tacit understanding was something slowly cultivated to begin with. Jiang Cheng wouldn’t blame her for any mistakes.
Initially, as long as she didn’t get in the way, that was already the best coordination.
*Whoosh!*
He hurled his spear with force, skewering it into a large tree above the Blood Hell Sword Guard’s head. It then transformed into a scythe, connecting him to it.
The scythe retracted, and Jiang Cheng turned into a bloody shadow. Under everyone’s astonished gaze, he rapidly flew towards the tree.
With the chained scythe, Jiang Cheng no longer had to worry about depleting his Bone Powder supply.
He could simply fire off arrows, transform them into a scythe, and then reel them back in using the chain.
This realization sparked a sudden idea: what if he could do the same with his spear? To his surprise, his experiment succeeded on the very first try!
Now his weapons could unleash their maximum potential!
*Twang! Twang! Twang!*
In midair, he transformed the chained scythe into a longbow, pulled the bowstring taut, and swiftly released three arrows in rapid succession.
*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*
Without releasing the bowstring’s tension, Jiang Cheng called upon Blood Raven, taking aim above the Blood Hell Sword Guard’s head before unleashing a devastating Thousand Arrows!
In an instant, the sky was filled with a barrage of arrows, with Jiang Cheng’s three shots cleverly hidden among them, making it nearly impossible to identify which ones were his.
Naturally, the purpose of this was to prevent his arrows from being blocked.
The arrows fired by Blood Raven dealt physical damage, amounting to a mere 600 attack points. Considering the Boss’s formidable 500 defense, Jiang Cheng knew these arrows would hardly make a dent.
But Jiang Cheng discovered that ever since socketing the Magic Runestone, regardless of whether he used a staff or other weapons, they all carried additional spell damage.
Coupled with his Dark Intimidation, the damage he could unleash was quite formidable.
Therefore, his arrows must not be blocked!
“Seeking death!”
The Blood Hell Sword Guard let out a cold shout. Facing the sky full of arrows, she swung out her Blood Hell Blade Slash, instantly sweeping through a huge swath!
*Cling cling cling!*
Countless arrows were sliced apart, falling into the mud.
“-112.”
“-112.”
“-112.”
“Armor-Piercing Arrow!”
Taking advantage of this opening, Jiang Cheng released the Destruction Archer from the tree. Amidst the rain of arrows, it struck the Blood Hell Sword Guard.
“-1.”
“-4412!”
“-112.”
“-112.”
“-4412!”
“-4412!”
[You have suffered armor penetration damage – defense decreased by 50.]
[You have been Frozen – movement and attack suspended for 1 second.]
[You are affected by the Slowing effect – movement speed and attack speed reduced by 50%.]
The Blood Hell Sword Guard’s movements instantly slowed.
Jiang Cheng seized the opportunity to retrieve the three arrows lodged in her body, transforming them back into a scythe.
He swiftly transformed the scythe back into a longbow and loosed another round of arrows.
With her attack and movement speed decreased, the Blood Hell Sword Guard had great difficulty blocking Jiang Cheng’s arrows.
Jiang Cheng remained in the trees, continuously tormenting the Blood Hell Sword Guard with Explosive Flame, arrows, and the blood-colored scythe.
Whenever she wailed and approached Jiang Cheng, slashing down the tree he was in, Jiang Cheng would launch an arrow to transfer to another tree.
When she summoned Ghouls, Jiang Cheng would toss out a few Explosive Flames, instantly blowing up a whole swath of them.
Out of mana, he started chugging magic potions, infuriating the Blood Hell Sword Guard to the point of spitting blood.
She could scarcely imagine there would come a day she would die at the hands of a lowly skeleton…
As she watched Arte being restrained by A Silly Cutie, unable to come to her aid, she felt a burning sense of resentment.
“Arte! Avenge me!”
With a deafening roar, Arman slammed into the ground, sending fallen leaves and dirt flying into the air.
The players’ jaws dropped in astonishment. “What the hell? Is this a viable strategy for taking down bosses?”
