Chapter 39: 6th Badge
Pryce looked at Haru. "How many badge do you have Haru".
Haru looked at him. "5 Badge".
Pryce noded, as he went to the wall pressed a button and got out 5 Pokéball. "I hope you are ready".
Haru readys his Pokémon ball. "Bring it on Old Man".
The gym battlefield shifted slightly as Pryce prepared his team. The icy terrain sparkled under the gym lights, a perfect stage for what promised to be a fierce battle.
Pryce smirked at Haru's confidence. "Five badges, huh? That means you're no novice, but don't think I'll go easy on you because of that."
Haru smirked back, spinning his Pokéball in his hand. "Wouldn't have it any other way. Let's see what you've got."
Pryce threw his first Pokéball. "Go, Dewgong!"
A sleek Dewgong appeared, its graceful form perfectly at home on the icy battlefield. It let out a melodic cry, ready for battle.
Haru responded immediately, throwing his own Pokéball. "Swampert, you're up!"
Swampert emerged with a ground-shaking roar, its muscular frame brimming with energy. Haru grinned. "Let's start strong. Swampert, use Earthquake!"
Swampert then stomped the ground, the ground shakes and then a blast of Earth power went toward Dewgong. Pryce reacted quickly. "Dewgong, counter with Ice Beam!"
Dewgong fired a concentrated beam of icy energy, hit the ground as The battlefield sparkled with shards of ice and stone as the two Pokémon stared each other down.
"Impressive," Pryce admitted. "But battles aren't won with brute strength alone. Dewgong, Aqua Ring!"
Dewgong surrounded itself with a glowing ring of water, slowly restoring its health. Haru frowned slightly but quickly regained his composure. "Not bad, but let's see how you handle this. Swampert, Earthquake again!"
Swampert stomped the ground with incredible force, sending a seismic wave rippling across the battlefield. The icy terrain cracked and trembled as the attack hit Dewgong hard, causing it to falter.
Pryce's expression hardened. "Dewgong, Ice Beam again!"
Dewgong unleashed another Ice Beam, this time aimed directly at Swampert. The attack hit, frost forming along Swampert's limbs. Haru winced. "Shake it off, Swampert! Use Waterfall!"
Swampert surged forward, water swirling around its body as it launched itself at Dewgong. The impact sent Dewgong sliding across the battlefield, unable to continue. Pryce recalled it with a nod. "Well done. But this battle is far from over."
He sent out his next Pokémon. "Go, Mamoswine!"
Haru's eyes narrowed. "A Ground and Ice type, huh? This'll be interesting."
The battle continued to escalate, each trainer pushing their Pokémon to their limits. Pryce's experience and tactical prowess clashed with Haru's bold strategies and raw power, creating a battle that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
Haru then called back Swampert. "Your not good for this one buddy, but she is. As he pulled out his second Pokeball. "Let's go Electivire".
Electivire came out of her Pokeball, as Lighting charges in bee body, as she was ready to fight, she was wonder what her trainer will say to use, Will it be brick break, or maybe earthquake, or even Ice Punch.
Haru then called for the 4th move. "Wild Charge!".
Electivire let out a powerful roar as electricity crackled around her body. She charged forward, her entire form enveloped in an electric aura. The icy ground beneath her feet melted slightly from the heat of the energy as she rushed straight at Mamoswine.
Pryce's eyes narrowed. "Mamoswine, counter with Earthquake!"
Mamoswine reared up on its hind legs and slammed down hard, sending tremors rippling across the battlefield. The Earthquake disrupted Electivire's momentum slightly, but Haru's Electric-type Pokémon powered through the shaking ground, her determination unwavering.
Electivire collided with Mamoswine with full force. The electric charge from Wild Charge exploded on impact, causing Mamoswine to grunt in pain as sparks danced across its fur. However, the recoil from the attack made Electivire stumble back, wincing slightly but staying on her feet.
Pryce nodded in approval. "Not bad. But let's see if she can handle this. Mamoswine, use Icicle Crash!"
Mamoswine summoned large, jagged icicles from above, sending them hurtling toward Electivire. Haru reacted quickly. "Electivire, dodge and follow up with Ice Punch!"
Electivire weaved through the falling icicles with surprising agility for her size, narrowly avoiding the icy projectiles. As she closed in on Mamoswine, her fist glowed with frosty energy. She leaped forward, delivering a direct hit to Mamoswine's side with a chilling Ice Punch.
Mamoswine staggered back, frost forming along its fur where the punch had landed. Pryce frowned but remained composed. "Mamoswine, hang in there! Use Stone Edge!"
Mamoswine summoned sharp stone spikes from the ground, aiming to trap Electivire. Haru smirked. "Not today. Electivire, finish this with Brick Break!"
Electivire's fist glowed as she smashed through the incoming stones, her momentum carrying her straight to Mamoswine. With one decisive hit, the Fighting-type move struck Mamoswine squarely, sending it crashing to the ground.
Mamoswine groaned before falling unconscious. Pryce recalled it with a small smile. "Well done, Haru. You've trained your Pokémon well. But this battle is far from over."
He reached for his next Pokéball. "Let's see how you handle this one. Go, Piloswine!"
A smaller but equally determined Piloswine appeared on the battlefield, ready to continue the icy battle. Haru grinned. "Electivire, you're staying in! Let's keep the pressure on!"
Haru looked at Electivire. "You can do this".
Pryce them spoke. "Sheer Cold"
Haru went silent as he spoke. "Will son of a Scizor".
As then Electivire tryed to dodge but the one hit ko move just hit Electivire and knocked her out, as Haru sighed
Haru looked at Electivire. "You did good girl".
Haru then thought for a bit, as he sent out his next Pokémon. "Come out, Houndoom".
Houndoom emerged from the Pokéball with a fierce howl, flames licking the corners of its mouth as it eyed Piloswine with a predatory glare. The temperature in the gym seemed to rise slightly with its presence, a stark contrast to the icy battlefield.
Pryce's expression remained calm. "Houndoom, huh? A Fire-type will certainly have an advantage, but don't underestimate Piloswine's resilience. Piloswine, use Earth Power!"
The ground beneath Houndoom began to rumble as golden fissures of energy erupted toward it. Haru reacted swiftly. "Houndoom, jump and counter with Flamethrower!"
Houndoom leapt gracefully into the air, avoiding the Earth Power. While airborne, it opened its jaws and unleashed a stream of scorching flames at Piloswine. The Flamethrower hit its mark, enveloping Piloswine in a fiery inferno. When the flames subsided, Piloswine staggered, its thick coat of fur singed.
Pryce's eyes narrowed. "Not bad, but let's see how your Houndoom handles this. Piloswine, use Stone Edge!"
Once again, sharp stone spikes erupted from the ground, aiming to pierce Houndoom. Haru smirked. "Houndoom, dodge and use Nasty Plot!"
Houndoom nimbly sidestepped the incoming spikes, landing back on the ground with a confident growl. Its eyes glowed with a sinister light as its special attack power surged, thanks to Nasty Plot.
Pryce frowned slightly. "This might be trouble. Piloswine, use Ice Shard!"
Quick as a flash, Piloswine launched a barrage of sharp, icy projectiles at Houndoom. Haru called out, "Houndoom, end this with Flamethrower, full power!"
Houndoom roared as it unleashed another devastating Flamethrower, the flames burning hotter and brighter thanks to the boost from Nasty Plot. The firestorm collided with the incoming Ice Shards, melting them instantly before engulfing Piloswine. The Ice/Ground-type Pokémon let out a final groan before collapsing to the ground, unable to continue.
Pryce recalled Piloswine with a small smile. "Impressive. You and your Pokémon fight with passion and strategy. But let's see how you fare against my ace. Go, Weavile!"
The agile Dark/Ice-type Pokémon appeared on the field, its claws gleaming menacingly as it prepared to face Houndoom. Haru grinned. "We're just getting started. Let's go, Houndoom!"
Haru looked at Houndoom. "Houndoom use Nasty Plot again, then use Flamethrower".
Houndoom special atk raised again, as the Houndoom sent out a powerful Flamethrower as then Weavile jumped away as she then came behind Houndoom back, as he was hit by a X Scizor from Weavile as then Houndoom then sent a powerful dark pulse as it hit Weavile as it sent the Dark/Ice Type back a few feet then Weavile sent out a blast of ice as she used Ice Beem Houndoom jumped our if the way as Haru then called of solar beem, as to release that was stupid move Before Haru can change the command we a Ice Beem hits Houndoom as it also freezed him.
Casey just looked at Haru. "What is wrong with you today".
Haru looked back at his companion. "I am having of day ok".
Pryce chuckled softly, observing the battlefield. "You're letting your emotions cloud your judgment, Haru. A trainer must remain calm and focused, even when things seem dire."
Haru gritted his teeth, glancing at his frozen Houndoom. He knew he had made a mistake calling for Solar Beam in such a fast-paced battle. Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself. "Alright, Houndoom, break out of the ice with Flamethrower!"
Houndoom's fiery determination flared as it heated its body from within. The ice encasing it began to crack, and with an explosive burst of flames, the ice shattered completely. Houndoom stood tall, flames blazing along its back as it growled at Weavile.
Pryce's calm demeanor didn't waver. "Weavile, keep up the pressure. Use Night Slash!"
Weavile darted forward with incredible speed, its claws glowing with dark energy. Haru's mind raced. He needed to turn the tide quickly. "Houndoom, counter with Dark Pulse!"
As Weavile closed the distance, Houndoom unleashed a wave of dark energy. The Dark Pulse collided with the oncoming Weavile, forcing it to halt and shield itself from the impact. The force of the attack sent Weavile skidding back, but it quickly regained its footing.
Haru clenched his fists, determination returning to his voice. "Let's finish this, Houndoom! Use Flamethrower, full power!"
Houndoom roared and unleashed its most powerful Flamethrower yet. The inferno surged across the battlefield toward Weavile. Pryce's eyes narrowed as he called out, "Weavile, Ice Shard!"
Weavile attempted to counter with a barrage of icy projectiles, but the raw power of Houndoom's boosted Flamethrower overwhelmed the Ice Shard, engulfing Weavile in flames. When the fire dissipated, Weavile collapsed, unable to continue.
Pryce recalled his Pokémon with a nod of respect. "Well done, Haru. It seems you've managed to compose yourself and harness your Pokémon's potential."
Haru sighed in relief, patting Houndoom on the head. "You did great, buddy. Thanks for pulling through."
Casey crossed her arms, smirking. "About time you got your act together."
Pryce walked forward, holding out a badge. "You've earned this, Haru. The Glacier Badge is yours."
Haru took the badge with a grin, holding it up for his team to see. "We did it, guys! On to the next challenge!"
After a while, they went to the Pokémon center, as he got his Pokémon heal, as he sent out all his Pokémon, as there was Swampert, Electivire, Scizor, Houndoom as Meowth joined them, as he looked at his Gyarados Pokeball.
Nurse Joy looked at him. "Is everything ok with your Gyarados, why don't you sent her out".
Haru just looked at her. "Um yeah, there is a bit for problem".
Haru can clearly see she was confused, so he just sigehd and told her to come with him as she did he sent out his Pokeball as then his Red Gyarados came as Nurse Joy Eyss widents seeing the size as she feel on her but, with the near by while Pokémon and even some to the trainer's running for there Alives, as For Gyarados it was just confusing as it went to Haru as it nuggled it self to him
Nurse Joy stared, her eyes wide in disbelief as she watched the giant Red Gyarados nuzzle Haru. The sheer size and power of the Pokémon was enough to make the other trainers in the Pokémon Center take a few cautious steps back. She shook her head, trying to process what was happening.
"Haru, this is... this is incredible," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "I've never seen a Gyarados of this size before. Are you sure it's—"
Haru nodded, cutting her off. "Yeah, I know it's not your average Gyarados. But she's not hostile anymore. It's kind of like... well, she's been acting more like a puppy than a Pokémon bent on destruction."
Meowth, who had been lounging nearby, looked over at the Red Gyarados. "That thing's huge, Haru! You sure she's not gonna eat us?"
Haru chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head. "I'm sure she won't. She's actually been pretty gentle with me, ever since I linked with her. But, uh, she's still learning how to... um... coexist with everyone else."
Nurse Joy, still wide-eyed, took a cautious step closer to the Gyarados. "How did this happen? Was it the way you caught her?"
Haru hesitated for a moment, remembering the intense battle and the way he had to use his Aura abilities to calm the Red Gyarados down. "It's... a bit of a long story. I used my Aura to connect with her, and I guess that calmed her down. Now, we're kinda like, well... partners?"
The Red Gyarados, sensing Haru's uncertainty, nudged him again, her massive head pushing gently against him. She seemed almost... affectionate, in her own strange way.
Nurse Joy smiled softly, watching the interaction. "It's amazing that you were able to do that. Most trainers would never have been able to handle a Pokémon like that. It's no wonder you've gotten so strong, Haru."
Haru smiled back at her, though his expression was still a bit serious. "I don't know if I'm strong enough, Nurse Joy. But I'm trying. I still have a lot to learn, and I think Gyarados does too."
Meowth padded over, giving the Red Gyarados a wary look before sitting down beside Haru. "Well, she ain't as scary as she looks, I guess."
Haru looked at Meowth and chuckled. "You might be right, but let's see how she acts around others."
Just then, Nurse Joy's face took on a more concerned look. "But Haru, you'll have to be careful. A Gyarados this powerful could draw attention from dangerous people. Especially with her being a Red Gyarados... she's likely to attract some unwanted interest from Team Rocket or other organizations."
Haru sighed. "Yeah, I'm already worried about that. But for now, I just want to make sure she's okay. I'll keep her safe."
Nurse Joy nodded in understanding. "I'll help however I can. We'll need to keep her under control while she's here."
With that, Haru turned his attention back to his Red Gyarados. "Alright, girl, let's get you settled here for now. You can stay here while we figure things out."
The Red Gyarados gave a low, almost content growl, as if agreeing to Haru's plan, and nuzzled him one more time before lying down beside him.
As Haru stood there with his Pokémon, he couldn't help but think about what the future held. There were still many challenges ahead, but with his team by his side—along with his bond to this mysterious, powerful Red Gyarados—he felt more confident than ever.
