Pokemon: I Transmigrated Twice

Chapter 74: Pokemon: I Transmigrated Twice [74]

Credits: Asriels

Karen was quite intrigued by the origins of the Pokémon egg.

Previously, she only knew that Stephen had obtained it from a Pokémon poacher, but she hadn't heard the full story yet.

"Ying ying ying!"

As Stephen and Will finished recounting what had happened in the Forest, someone suddenly let out a strange whining sound.

Will instinctively glanced at Karen, who shot him an annoyed glare in return.

What are you looking at?

Do I look like someone who'd make that kind of noise?!

However, Karen's mood wasn't great.

Even though she knew this seemingly beautiful world harbored plenty of horrifying darkness beneath the surface, hearing about it firsthand still left a sour taste in her mouth.

Stephen glanced under the table.

It turned out the one making the whining sounds was none other than the Stufful.

At that moment, the muscle-bound teddy bear was acting like Anya possessed her—its eyes had turned into fried eggs, and little pearls of tears were streaming down its face. CryingAnya.gif

"Dong oh~ Dong oh~"

While shedding tears like pearls, Stufful lunged toward the Pokémon egg on the table.

Ying ying ying~ This poor child has suffered so much! Come! Let big sister hug you!

Seeing the Stufful acting like a future incarnation of Ash's Dragonite, Stephen reacted quickly and lifted the Pokémon egg just in time.

With its lunge thwarted, Stufful planted its two front paws on the table.

CRACK—BOOM!

In an instant, the wooden dining table was reduced to splinters by Stufful's hug.

"Dong oh?"

Stufful looked up at Stephen with a confused and slightly resentful expression, as if asking, "Why won't you let me hug it?"

Stephen sighed helplessly and pointed to the pile of woodchips scattered everywhere. "If I let you hug it, do you think the egg would have any chance of surviving?"

Looking at the splinters covering the floor—and the Pokémon food that now had wood shavings mixed in—even Karen's temperamental Houndoom, or Will's recently defeated Xatu, didn't get angry. Instead, they both stared at the little bear in disbelief.

Where the heck did this little monster come from?

"Ying ying~"

Stufful resumed whining as if to say, "You're bullying me! You won't even let me hug it!"

"You need to learn how to control your strength first... Assuming we even meet again after this."

Stephen lightly tapped Stufful on the head before turning to his two companions and saying:

"Once we're done eating, let's clean up and get going."

"Dong oh, dong oh, dong oh!"

But before Karen and Will could move, the previously sulking Stufful suddenly started jumping up and down in excitement.

"What's wrong with this muscle teddy bear now?" Will asked curiously.

Stephen had no choice but to place his hand on Stufful's head again.

Ten seconds later, Stephen turned to Karen and Will and said:

"Stufful says that it hopes we can continue staying here, provided she's allowed to take care of the Pokemon egg."

"...What?"

Hearing such a bizarre request, Karen and Will both froze in place.

Two seconds later, Will chuckled and said:

"What could she even do? We're not even sure if the Pokemon egg will hatch successfully. Its survival depends entirely on Stephen's tech. Or are you saying that after it's born, this muscle teddy bear could help raise it? Letting her hug the baby would probably end with her accidentally squishing it to death."

"Dong oh!"

Stufful's face darkened. It took a few steps forward and punched Will right in his slightly protruding stomach.

"Ugh—!"

Will dropped to the ground, vomiting up all the lunch he had just eaten in one go.

Both Karen and the surrounding Pokémon quietly took a few steps back.

Disgusting!

"Dong oh! Dong oh!"

After delivering a punch, Stufful ran back to Stephen, gesturing wildly with its paws.

Without even needing to sense its thoughts, Stephen could guess what it wanted to say.

After a moment of consideration, Stephen decided:

"Alright, how about this: you can train with the Umbreons and the others. If you can learn to control your strength properly, I'll let you hold the egg. Deal?"

"Dong oh!"

Stufful nodded excitedly.

All this joy for such a small thing.

Pokémon are such simple creatures.

Though… this Stufful's motherly instincts are surprisingly strong. It feels like I've seen something like this before…

Later that afternoon...

Another day of training began.

However, the training methods for the newly added Stufful seemed completely out of sync with the rest of the team.

Umbreon, Houndooms, and Xatu wore their usual training vests with recording devices and oxygen masks. However, instead of jumping straight into rigorous training, they all turned their heads to watch Stephen and Stufful on the other side of the training field.

"Stufful, try kicking this soccer ball."

Stephen tossed over a brand-new soccer ball he had just bought in Hau'oli City.

"Dong oh~"

Facing the slowly approaching ball, Stufful lightly jumped up and performed an aerial bicycle kick.

BOOM—!

Karen, Will, and the other Pokémon all froze at the deafening sound.

CRASH! CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!

One after another, they heard the sound of trees snapping and falling, like dominos collapsing in a chain reaction.

"Wooo—!"

Before it was over, a faint wail echoed from the distance.

Karen furrowed her brows and walked toward the source of the sound, only to find a Pineco lying on the ground, groaning in pain. Next to it was a deflated soccer ball.

A moment later, the Pineco let out one final moan and fainted on the spot.

"Oh my god…"

Karen could hardly believe her eyes.

Anyone who's fought a Steel-type Pokémon knows just how absurd their defense is.

But with just one hit…

"Will, go spray some healing remedy on that Pineco," Stephen said after a brief silence, handing Will a bottle of medicine spray.

Stephen then turned back to Stufful, who looked completely innocent, as if asking, "Did I do something wrong?"

He pulled out another soccer ball.

"That's not how you kick it. Watch… like this…"

Stephen tossed the ball into the air and began juggling it with his feet. He wasn't very skilled, but it was enough as a demonstration for Stufful.

After juggling four or five times, he stopped and said:

"Learn to control your strength like this, understand?"

Learning to control strength is crucial—not just to avoid accidentally killing an opponent, but also to improve accuracy.

After all, as everyone knows, the greater the strength, the harder it is to maintain precision… unless, of course, you're a Star Platinum-level.

"Dong oh~"

Stufful nodded to show it understood.

"Alright, try again."

Stephen tossed another soccer ball to Stufful.

"Dong oh!"

This time, Stufful opened its front paws and gave the ball a gentle volleyball-style bump.

WHOOSH—!

Off in the distance, Will—who was still tending to the Pineco—felt a gust of wind scrape painfully across his cheek.

BOOM!

The next second, he saw a soccer ball embedded in the side of a mountain. Spiderweb-like cracks radiated outward from the impact point.

"ARE YOU GUYS TRYING TO KILL ME?!" Will's furious roar echoed from afar.

Stephen rubbed his temples and pretended not to hear. "This is going to take a while…"
