Pokémon: No Way! The Golden Finger Only Comes When I'm About To Die!?

Chapter 139: The Unyielding Spirit

"Let's go see a movie. You like watching movies, don't you? And you've never watched one in a theater before!" Angie suggested.

"Sure!" Diancie's eyes lit up. It had been wanting to experience watching a movie in a cinema for a long time.

"Then let's go," Angie said cheerfully. "I've already bought the tickets. It's definitely a genre you'll enjoy."

Diancie was surprised. "You've been planning this all along?"

Angie smiled. "Not for very long, actually. I've been thinking about spending some time exploring azoth city with you. Since we woke up, we haven't really had a chance to properly see Azoth Kingdom in the modern days."

Listening to Angie's words and looking at his smiling face, Diancie felt a warm sensation welling up inside.

"Then let's take our time and enjoy it together today," Diancie said.

Since they had time before the movie, Angie and Diancie strolled leisurely through the streets. They observed the hurried passersby, playful Pokémon, and the city that felt both familiar and strange to them.

When the two of them finally arrived at the cinema, the timing was perfect. They found their seats and settled in to wait for the movie to start.

Their seats were right next to each other!

"What are we watching? You haven't told me at all. Earlier, you even covered my eyes so I couldn't see the poster," Diancie asked curiously.

Angie whispered, "You'll find out soon enough!"

Hearing this, Diancie didn't press further and instead focused intently on the screen ahead.

Soon, the lights in the theater dimmed, and the large screen in front lit up.

The moment a familiar face appeared on the screen, Diancie turned to Angie in surprise. "How did you know I wanted to see this movie?"

Angie quickly made a shushing gesture, and Diancie belatedly covered its mouth.

Seeing Diancie quiet down, Angie pulled out his phone and showed Diancie a picture of Magearna. Realization dawned on Diancie—it was Magearna who had spilled the beans.

As Angie turned his attention back to the movie, Diancie hesitated for a moment, then subtly shifted its arm. Finally, it placed its hand on Angie's, directing its attention back to the movie as well.

Feeling the touch, Angie glanced at Diancie in surprise. Then, with a quiet smile, he turned his hand over to hold Diancie's. Together, they focused on the film.

The movie was titled Thorn Princess. It told the story of a fallen kingdom's princess, who had lost her family during the collapse of her nation. Captured by enemies, she struggled to survive in a hostile land with her Pokémon, a Ralts, by her side.

The lead actress was none other than Diancie's favorite actress, Diantha.

Diancie watched the screen without blinking. In the scene, the fallen princess was being humiliated by the enemy princess. To protect its trainer, the Ralts evolved into a Kirlia, gaining stronger powers.

However, despite its newfound strength, the fallen princess and Kirlia were still harshly beaten.

As the fallen princess and Kirlia embraced each other in tears, Diancie couldn't help but shed tears as well.

In the movie's climax, Kirlia evolved into a Gardevoir to help the princess escape the enemy nation. Together, they fought side by side, cutting through obstacles and avenging their nation before finally escaping to freedom.

The final scene of the movie showed the protagonist and Gardevoir, both bloodied, sitting under the sunrise and exchanging a knowing smile.

As they exited the cinema, tears still glistened in Diancie's eyes.

"How was it? Did you enjoy it?" Angie asked.

Diancie dabbed at the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief and nodded. "It was great. As expected from a movie starring Diantha."

"If there's another movie you want to see, we can come together next time," Angie said with a smile.

"Mm-hmm," Diancie nodded eagerly.

"Well, now that the movie's over, it's time for the next part of the day!" Angie said mysteriously.

"There's more?" Diancie asked, surprised.

"Of course! This is just the beginning!"

With that, Angie took Diancie to a cable car, and soon, the two arrived at the entrance of a large amusement park.

"This is... an amusement park?" Diancie asked, glancing up at the towering rides and vibrant colors.

Angie nodded. "That's right! Is it your first time here?"

Diancie nodded again.

"Let's go!" Angie grabbed Diancie's hand and led her inside, the tickets already purchased in advance.

The amusement park was bustling with people and Pokémon, laughter and chatter filling the air. Angie cautioned, "Stick close to me, or you might get lost."

Diancie instinctively tightened her grip on Angie's hand, her eyes darting from one attraction to another, overwhelmed by the choices.

"Is there anything you really want to try?" Angie asked.

Diancie shook her head. Her knowledge of amusement park activities was limited to what she had seen online.

Seeing this, Angie grinned. "In that case, leave it to me!"

He led her to the bumper cars and pointed them out. "Let's start with this!"

Diancie looked at the colorful cars, shaped like Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Jumpluff, Cyclizar, and Bibarel, as children and Pokémon gleefully rammed into each other. She hesitated. "This seems... a bit childish."

Angie didn't give her a chance to refuse. Pulling her toward the entrance, he said, "Maybe for kids, but for us adults, it's just perfect."

Diancie: ...

Once they were strapped into their bumper cars, other guests, including children and Pokémon, began to fill the area. Angie chose a Shellos-themed car, immediately steering toward Diancie's Swanna-themed car to bump into it.

Diancie jolted from the impact, then smirked and steered her car straight into Angie's.

Angie's car was knocked backward, only to collide with a nearby child's car.

The child laughed and shouted, "The big brother is bullying little kids!" prompting the other children to gang up on him with their cars.

Angie shouted in mock despair, "Hey, ganging up on someone isn't fair!"

But the children didn't let up, continuously ramming his car. Angie, overwhelmed, called for help.

Diancie couldn't just watch Angie being "bullied." Determined, she drove her car straight into the children's cars.

Laughter and shouts filled the air as Angie and Diancie teamed up to take on seven or eight children. Nearby parents doubled over in laughter, watching the playful chaos.

After half an hour of relentless bumping, Angie and Diancie stumbled out of their cars, laughing and gasping for breath.

"So, what do you think? Wasn't that fun?" Angie asked, still grinning.

"It... wasn't bad," Diancie admitted, a bit embarrassed at how much she had enjoyed herself. Her royal composure had completely vanished during the game.

As the children from earlier began to leave, they waved goodbye to Angie.

"Bye-bye, big brother!"

Angie waved back cheerfully. "Goodbye!"

After saying goodbye to the children, Angie took Diancie's hand and led it to the next attraction.

"Where are we going?" Diancie asked.

"You'll see when we get there," Angie replied.

In the time that followed, Angie and Diancie enjoyed a series of rides, including the roller coaster, pirate ship, and haunted house. Although Diancie repeatedly voiced objections at first, it ended up having a great time. All the worries about not mastering its fairy aura were completely forgotten during the afternoon.

Time flew by, and soon evening arrived. The number of visitors in the amusement park dwindled, and the surroundings gradually quieted down.

Angie and Diancie sat on a bench, leisurely eating ice cream. The golden hues of the setting sun cast a warm glow over them, enveloping the scene in a peaceful ambiance.

"Is it good?" Angie asked.

Diancie licked the ice cream in small bites and nodded enthusiastically. "Delicious!"

At that moment, the amusement park's lights started to come on one by one. In the distance, the Ferris wheel lit up with dazzling colors, resembling a glowing ring from afar.

Diancie looked at the Ferris wheel in awe and asked, "What is that?"

Angie explained, "That's a Ferris wheel."

"Ferris wheel? It's so pretty! Is it fun?"

Angie thought for a moment and replied, "Whether it's fun depends on personal taste. How about we give it a try before heading back?"

"Sure!" Diancie agreed readily.

"Then let's go," Angie said, getting up.

This amusement park was open 24 hours, so there was no need to worry about closing time, no matter how late they stayed.

Before long, the two arrived at the Ferris wheel. Just before boarding, Angie quietly pulled the staff member aside and whispered something to them. After a short discussion, he returned to Diancie.

"What were you just doing?" Diancie asked curiously.

Angie shook his head mysteriously. "Nothing much, just having a quick chat with the staff."

Diancie didn't seem convinced, but since Angie didn't elaborate, it didn't press further.

Soon, under the staff's arrangement, they boarded the Ferris wheel, which began its slow ascent toward the top.

By then, the sky had completely darkened, and the lights of Azoth Kingdom's households illuminated the night. From this vantage point, Diancie could see the city's nightscape stretching out before them.

"How beautiful!" Diancie exclaimed in awe.

Angie smiled. "Amazing, right? This Ferris wheel is one of the few spots in the city where you can see the entire kingdom from above!"

"Really? That's incredible!" Diancie leaned closer to the glass window for a better look.

The two sat across from each other, silently enjoying the breathtaking view of the kingdom and the rare tranquility of the moment. Neither spoke, simply soaking in the atmosphere.

"Boom!!"

Just as they were about to reach the top of the Ferris wheel, a sudden burst of fireworks lit up the sky, illuminating the entire night.

"Wow!" Diancie exclaimed, its eyes sparkling with delight. Pressing its face against the glass, it marveled, "It's so beautiful!"

"Do you like it?" Angie asked.

Thinking back to how Angie had whispered to the staff earlier, Diancie had a sudden realization. "Was this your doing?"

Angie smiled and nodded. "It was! Otherwise, without any special events at the park today, where would the fireworks come from?"

As soon as he finished speaking, a second firework exploded in the sky, followed by a third, fourth... The night sky was instantly filled with a kaleidoscope of colors.

Diancie watched the scene outside without blinking. This was its first time seeing fireworks, and the dazzling display, combined with the lights from the city, created a mesmerizing spectacle that stirred its heart.

"Angie, thank you," Diancie suddenly said.

"Thank me? Do we need to thank each other?" Angie asked, looking displeased.

"Right, no need for thanks." A brilliant smile appeared on Diancie's face.

Soon, the fireworks ended, and the surroundings returned to silence. The sky, now only dotted with faint stars, seemed endless. Diancie continued to stare at the heavens, lost in thought.

"Angie, we'll always be together, right?"

Angie nodded without hesitation. "Of course. Not just you and me, but also Munchlax, Drizzile, Komala, Gengar, Magearna, Pawmi, Metagross, and Volcanion. We'll all be together, always."

Diancie turned its head back to look at Angie, its face lighting up with a radiant smile. It nodded firmly. "Yes!"

At that moment, a diamond suddenly popped out of Diancie's hand. Confused by why it had created a diamond at this moment, it held the gem tightly in its hand.

The Ferris wheel had just returned to the ground. Angie extended a hand to Diancie and said, "Let's head back."

Smiling, Diancie slipped its hand into Angie's, and the two walked hand in hand as they left the Ferris wheel.

At the same time.

In an underground corner of Azoth Kingdom, there was a facility resembling a beast-taming arena, operated by a peculiar gang.

In this world, some people lacked strength but possessed an insatiable desire to dominate powerful beings. Using various means, they captured strong Pokémon. Unable to make the Pokémon submit themselves, they sent the creatures here to be "tamed."

Once the Pokémon were thoroughly "trained" and became completely "obedient," the trainers returned them to their owners, earning hefty fees for their taming services.

Inside the taming facility's holding room, dim lights flickered on, revealing rows of massive cages. Each cage confined a powerful Pokémon.

Magmortar, Aggron, Charizard, Nidoking, Houndoom, Drapion, Scolipede, Tyrantrum, Infernape...

A man dressed in black uniform entered the room and turned on the lights. The Pokémon in the cages opened their eyes one by one, glaring at him with unbridled hatred.

"Houndoom!"

Houndoom let out a furious roar and lunged at the bars of its cage, attempting to bite them. However, an electric current surged through the bars, electrocuting the Pokémon until it howled in pain.

Nidoking, being a Ground-type Pokémon immune to electricity, raised its fists and smashed the bars of its cage. But the temperature inside the cage plummeted rapidly. Before long, Nidoking was frozen into an ice sculpture.

Seeing what happened to the two Pokémon, the others showed a flicker of fear in their eyes.

The man in black smirked coldly. "Once you're here, escaping is impossible. I advise you to behave, or you'll regret it."

"Infernape!!"

At that moment, the Infernape let out a defiant roar. It grasped the bars of its cage tightly, trying to bend them apart.

Zzzap!

A surge of violent electricity coursed through the bars, leaving the Infernape charred and smoking. Yet, despite its injuries, it refused to yield, glaring furiously at the man in black.

The man's eyes scanned the room, lingering on each cage. "Who should I break today?"

Finally, his gaze settled on the defiant Infernape. With a mocking grin, he said, "Let's start with you."
