Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Gym Tour
(I found the system tasks written earlier too insignificant, so I added a system task at the end of Chapter 27, which allows easy strengthening of two Pokémon.)

After defeating Kong and winning first place in the senior competition, the system's notification of mission completion rang in Victor's mind.
Opening the system panel, he found that the system currency and Torracat's candies were already available.
Though eager to give Torracat a candy right away, Victor was currently accompanying his father, handling the principal's congratulations.
"Oh my, you're indeed Master jhon's son! Truly outstanding! I daresay he's comparable to the geniuses in the Imperial and Magic Capitals!" the principal praised.
Father Victor smiled humbly. "It's all his hard work. I rarely interfere."
Victor stood by quietly, watching them discuss business without daring to interrupt.
---
Afterward, once the principal left, Victor and his father remained in the office.
"For over a month, traces of the Nova Organization have been appearing frequently across the Crimson Alliance," Father Victor began to talk.
"This criminal group is involved in heinous activities like stealing rare Pokémon, international smuggling, targeting regional Alliance geniuses, and conducting terrorist attacks in secret areas."
"I've been busy apprehending Nova members recently, leaving little time to assist your growth," he apologized. "Yet you've surpassed expectations. Your performance today, especially with Carbink and Torracat, filled me with pride."
"Your mother and I discussed your future path. Am I correct in assuming you don't wish to specialize in a single type?"
Victor nodded. Rather than focusing on one type, he aspired to train a diverse team of Pokémon.
"In that case," Father Victor said, handing over a notebook, "my path will serve as a reference. But here's a proposal for you."
---
Father Victor explained the Gym Badge system:
1. Advanced Badge: Gym Leaders use Gym-level Pokémon. Collecting 8 Advanced Badges, along with enough points, qualifies trainers to advance to the Master level.
2. Intermediate Badge: Gym Leaders use elite to professional-level Pokémon. Most universities require at least one Intermediate Badge for graduation.
3. Junior Badge: Gym Leaders use multiple elite-level Pokémon, sometimes even professional-level ones. Trainers need recommendations for these challenges. Collecting all four Junior Badges grants early admission to any university in the Crimson Alliance.
"If you start now, you could collect the Junior Badges before the National Youth Games," Father Victor proposed.
---
Victor reflected. Staying in high school would only limit his growth. With determination, he replied: "Rather than stagnating, I want to fight stronger opponents!"
[Ding! Mission Released!]
[Mission: Collect the Junior Badges of any four attribute gyms!]
[Reward: Aura (Advanced), System Currency x50,000 (5)!]
Victor recalled asking the system about task triggers. The system explained:
[Tasks are issued based on the host's own desires and goals.]
Embracing the challenge, Victor accepted the mission.
"Excellent," Father Victor said. "I'll finalize the paperwork. But remember, if you encounter any difficulties, reach out. Your parents will always support you."
---
After leaving his father's office, Victor headed to his private training room.
"Come out, Carbink, Torracat."
Once released, Victor brought them to the energy intensity tester, a device measuring Pokémon attack energy.
Normal Pokémon (early stage): ~100 kcal
Elite-level Pokémon: Minimum 1000 kcal
Professional-level Pokémon: 2000 kcal
Testing pre- and post-candy values, Victor aimed to evaluate their growth.
---
Note: Energy values are not absolute measures of strength. Defensive or strategic Pokémon can outperform higher-output opponents through superior tactics or endurance.
Still, Victor couldn't wait to see the results.
