Chapter 357: Chapter 39: The Giant Divine Weapon of Obelisk

Ash currently had Pikachu and Charizard on his team, both of whom already possessed inheritance abilities.

This meant they could be excluded from consideration, leaving four other Pokémon eligible for the powerful inheritance of Obelisk's Giant Divine Weapon.

Among them, three Pokémon stood out as suitable candidates: Venusaur, Blastoise, and Snorlax.

Additionally, there were two potential options back at Professor Oak's Laboratory: Tauros and Aerodactyl.

After much deliberation, Ash concluded that the best recipient for this inheritance was Snorlax.

Snorlax's natural gifts made it an exceptional choice. Its immense physical strength and robust physique far surpassed ordinary Pokémon, making it ideal for maximizing the inheritance's potential.

With this newfound power, Snorlax could become a truly formidable force.

---

"Come out, Snorlax!" Ash called, tossing the Poké Ball.

In a flash of light, Snorlax appeared, yawning as it rubbed its eyes and looked around in a daze. It blinked at Ash, clearly wondering why it had been summoned so late at night.

"Listen, Snorlax." Ash crouched down and began to explain. He shared everything he had told Charizard back when it was still a Charmander: the legend of the Three Illusory Gods, the power of their inheritance, and the transformations they underwent.

Snorlax's initial reaction was surprise, but it quickly returned to its usual laid-back demeanor, yawning and scratching its belly.

Snorlax was gentle and unbothered by most things, so the idea of accepting this mysterious inheritance didn't seem to faze it.

Seeing Snorlax's indifferent reaction, Ash hesitated. "Is this really the right choice?" he thought.

But after some reflection, he decided to trust his instincts. Snorlax was the most suitable candidate, and Ash was confident that, with training, it would rise to the challenge.

---

Taking a deep breath, Ash reached into the system and summoned the inheritance. A glowing blue orb appeared in his palm, radiating a powerful and intimidating energy.

As the light emanated from the orb, the once-clear sky darkened. Thunder rumbled, and ominous clouds gathered above Mandarin Island, blanketing the area in an oppressive atmosphere.

Even Snorlax, who rarely showed much emotion, opened its eyes wide. It could feel the overwhelming power contained within the orb, and for the first time, it began to grasp the significance of the "Three Illusory Gods" that Ash had spoken of.

Snorlax glanced at Ash, then Pikachu, who had already inherited the power of the Winged Dragon of Ra.

Deep down, Snorlax felt a pang of competitiveness. Pikachu's newfound strength had been undeniable during their battles. Perhaps, by accepting this inheritance, it could finally match Pikachu.

As if responding to Snorlax's thoughts, the orb glowed brighter and moved toward Snorlax of its own accord.

"What?!" Ash gasped.

Unlike Pikachu and Charizard, where Ash had initiated the fusion process, this time the inheritance chose Snorlax on its own.

Ash's heart raced. Could it be that the inheritance was sentient? Was it drawn to Snorlax for a reason beyond Ash's understanding?

Without hesitation, Snorlax extended its paw, allowing the orb to merge with its body. A surge of energy erupted, and a wave of destructive power radiated outward.

---

Ash and Pikachu braced themselves, but the wave passed harmlessly through them. The surrounding environment wasn't as lucky.

The ground beneath Snorlax cracked and collapsed, and nearby trees disintegrated into nothingness.

Snorlax closed its eyes, concentrating as the energy coursed through its body. Its physique began to change, adapting to the immense power of the inheritance. The transformation was swift but thorough, reshaping Snorlax's strength and aura.

Finally, the destructive wave retracted, condensing back into Snorlax's body. The once-intimidating atmosphere dissipated, leaving Snorlax sitting calmly on the ground. It yawned and scratched its belly, as if nothing had happened.

Ash read the information provided by the system, his pupils dilating in shock.

"So, Obelisk has already acknowledged Snorlax," he murmured. The inheritance's compatibility with Snorlax was beyond his expectations, as evidenced by the immediate unlocking of the first ability, Divine Fist Crush.

Ash's thoughts were interrupted by movement nearby. The commotion had attracted attention.

Without wasting a second, Ash recalled Snorlax into its Poké Ball and bolted, Pikachu following close behind.

---

Moments later, two police officers arrived at the scene. They froze, staring at the massive crater left behind.

The vegetation in the area had completely vanished, and the ground itself bore signs of immense destruction.

The officers radioed headquarters in a panic. Officer Jenny, already resting for the night, was called in to investigate.

She reviewed footage from nearby cameras but found only static. Whatever had caused this disturbance had interfered with the recordings, leaving no clues.

---

In an unknown space, far removed from the mortal world, a being stirred. Its slumber was disrupted by the ripple of familiar yet chaotic energy.

"The same origin… but such divergence…" it murmured, sensing the awakening of destructive power. Its gaze turned toward the boy it had seen before—Ash—now returning to the Pokémon Center.

"Will their future bring salvation… or ruin?" the being wondered. The once-clear path of destiny was now clouded, fragmented into endless possibilities.

With these thoughts, the being returned to its deep sleep. Whatever lay ahead, its strength would be needed to maintain balance in the world.
