Chapter 361: Chapter 43: Amazingly Powerful
Ash's command seemed ordinary at first, but his slightly elevated tone was a signal Pikachu understood perfectly. It was time to fight at full power, no holding back.
"Pikaaaaaaaa!" Pikachu let out a determined cry as Electric-type energy surged around it.
With a brilliant flash, Pikachu unleashed Thunderbolt, sending thick, crackling lightning bolts hurtling toward Cloyster at an incredible speed. The attack was so swift that even the audience barely had time to process it.
"Cloyster, Ice Beam!" Lorelei called out confidently, her tone calm and precise. The sheer velocity of Pikachu's Thunderbolt caught her slightly off guard, but as a member of the Elite Four, she had faced countless unexpected situations and remained unfazed.
Cloyster immediately condensed Ice-type energy at the sharp horn atop its head, firing an irregularly-shaped, ice-blue beam directly at the incoming Thunderbolt.
The crowd watched in anticipation as the two attacks collided midair.
Lorelei, confident in her Cloyster's abilities, expected the Ice Beam to overpower Thunderbolt.
Though this Cloyster wasn't part of her main team, it had been meticulously trained and was only slightly inferior to her main Pokémon. However, the ensuing outcome left her—and everyone else—stunned.
---
As Ice Beam and Thunderbolt clashed, the result defied all expectations. Rather than being overwhelmed, Pikachu's Thunderbolt swiftly broke through the Ice Beam, splitting it apart with ease.
"What?!" Lorelei gasped, her composure briefly faltering.
The remaining energy of Thunderbolt continued unabated, striking Cloyster directly before it had a chance to react.
A loud crackling sound echoed through the arena as the electric surge enveloped Cloyster entirely.
The impact left it scorched and covered in thick black smoke. After a moment of stillness, Cloyster collapsed, unconscious and unable to continue.
---
The referee stood speechless for a few seconds, seemingly unable to believe what he had witnessed. Finally, he raised his flag and announced, "Cloyster is unable to battle! Pikachu wins!"
The stadium erupted into chaos, the crowd roaring in disbelief and excitement. It was as if a single drop of water had hit boiling oil—pandemonium broke out among the spectators.
"No way!"
"That was incredible!"
"Unbelievable! He took down Cloyster with one move!"
In the stands, Misty clapped her hands together, cheering. "Amazing, Ash! Pikachu's strength is absolutely insane!"
Tracey, on the other hand, sat wide-eyed, unable to process what he'd just seen. Though he knew Pikachu was powerful, he had underestimated the full extent of its strength.
The commentator, now regaining his composure, exclaimed, "Astounding! Is this the strength of the Indigo Plateau Conference's strongest Champion?!"
---
Lorelei, meanwhile, stood frozen, her arms crossed as she stared at her defeated Cloyster. The Elite Four member rarely showed emotion, but now, her expression betrayed shock and puzzlement.
"How?" she muttered to herself. Even though Cloyster had low Special Defense, the gap in levels should have ensured it could withstand the attack.
Furthermore, Ice Beam had partially mitigated Thunderbolt's power. By all logic, Cloyster shouldn't have been defeated in one blow.
Yet, it happened.
On the opposite side of the battlefield, Ash stood with a confident smile. He could tell Lorelei had underestimated him and Pikachu.
While she had planned to teach, Ash was here to show the results of his hard work.
---
What Lorelei didn't know was that Pikachu carried a Light Ball, an item that doubled its Attack and Special Attack.
Combined with Pikachu's exceptional training and synergy with Ash, it made Thunderbolt exponentially stronger than she had anticipated.
Understanding her mistake, Lorelei withdrew Cloyster and gave Ash and Pikachu a long, contemplative look. It was clear now that they couldn't be judged by conventional standards.
Reaching for her next Poké Ball, Lorelei made a decision. If Ash wanted a serious fight, she would oblige.
"Slowbro, it's your turn!" Lorelei announced, sending out one of her main Pokémon.
---
The crowd gasped as Slowbro appeared on the field. This was the same Pokémon that had demonstrated immense power just the day before, using Psychic to simultaneously control over 600 opponents.
Ash grinned, his excitement growing. "Looks like you're getting serious now. Pikachu, let's give it everything we've got! Use Thunderbolt!"
"Pikaaaaaaaaa!" Pikachu launched another massive surge of electricity toward Slowbro. The golden lightning crackled through the air, aiming directly for its target.
"Psychic!" Lorelei responded without hesitation, her calm demeanor replaced by fiery determination.
Slowbro's body glowed with a pink-purple aura as Psychic energy radiated outward, blending into the surrounding space. For a moment, it seemed as if the battlefield itself had fallen under Slowbro's control.
As Thunderbolt approached, it suddenly stopped midair, frozen just five meters away from Slowbro. The energy crackled violently but could not advance even a centimeter further.
---
The crowd fell silent, stunned by the display of power.
Ash's eyes narrowed as he assessed the situation. "So this is the difference between a gym-level Pokémon and an Elite-level one," he muttered. Slowbro wasn't just defending itself—it had completely dominated the field.
Lorelei, her lips curving into an excited smile, observed Ash closely. She could see he was deep in thought, formulating his next move.
---
The battlefield was alive with electricity, light, and determination as Ash and Pikachu faced off against Lorelei's powerful Slowbro.
The intense rays of the late afternoon sun cut through the bright blue sky, casting eerie reflections on Slowbro's pink, almost sparkling Psychic aura, making it seem both peaceful and perilous.
Ash knew this was no regular battle—it was a clash of raw power, experience, and strategy. Despite Slowbro's immense strength, Ash wasn't going to back down.
