Chapter 10: Beedrill Swarm

The Pokémon on the ground emitted a series of dissatisfied yells directed at Adrian.

[Pokémon: Cyndaquil]

[Qualification: Professional]

[Level: 10]

[Ability: Blaze]

[Skills: Leer, Smokescreen, Ember]

"Professional level qualification?" Adrian raised an eyebrow in surprise. Professional Level Pokémon were typically found in Bronze Secret Realms, where they are rather rare among Trainers. Encountering one was exciting, as they could also be exchanged for a significant number of points. Yet, reflecting on his aura—one that bears the blessing of the Goddess of Luck—Adrian hardly felt astonished.

He expected to encounter even more Pokémon with higher qualifications as he explored further. Just moments before, he had come across Cheri Berries and Pecha Berries, precious items that could effectively neutralize the effects of poisoning and paralysis. He also found Oran Berries, valued for their ability to restore Health Points. The first two types could be consumed directly or used as potions during battles, while the Oran Berries had the potential to be transformed into energy cubes, further boosting a Pokémon's abilities.

With a satisfied smile gracing his lips, Adrian picked up the berries and continued his journey without a pause to engage in battle. After all, fighting more Pokémon would feel akin to bullying, and he had no intention of capturing one and exploiting it unfairly.

Meanwhile, Cyndaquil glared at Adrian's retreating figure, letting out a couple of angry squeaks. Its eyes twitched in irritation as if contemplating a sneak attack. At that moment, Mewtwo cast a slight glance back at Cyndaquil. In an instant, Cyndaquil curled its neck in alarm and executed a quick escape, not daring to linger.

Adrian had set his sights on becoming a Champion Trainer, so encountering a Professional Level Pokémon like Cyndaquil wasn't particularly impressive to him. He pressed onward, quickening his pace into the heart of the jungle, intrigued by what lay ahead.

Suddenly, a sharp cry rang out from a distance: "Ah! It's a Beedrill swarm! Run, run!"

"I'm terrified of Bug-type Pokémon!"

"Ahhhhh, they're coming!"

"…"

Turning to observe, Adrian noticed two men and one woman sprinting desperately in his direction. The girl had released her Pidgeotto, leaping out clumsily while her face betrayed her fright.

"Buzz buzz..."

In rapid succession, a massive cluster of Beedrills emerged from the underbrush behind the three. Their yellow exoskeletons gleamed menacingly in the dappled sunlight, segmented bodies separating into three parts, and their red, beady eyes shone with an unsettling hunger. Each Beedrill bore a Poison Barb at the end of their tails, effectively making them a danger to anyone who might provoke them. Their wings throbbed at an alarming frequency, creating a vibrating hum that could send chills down anyone's spine, hinting at the chaotic power these creatures possessed.

Adrian puzzled over how these three had managed to provoke such a formidable swarm, now bearing down on them with an alarming intensity. The trio ran swiftly, likely well-practiced in the art of fleeing from danger, and in moments, they had vanished from sight. Oddly enough, the Beedrills did not continue chasing them but instead honed in on Adrian, their buzz growing louder, their attention suddenly fixated on him.

As a wave of buzzing filled the air, Adrian felt the weight of many eyes upon him. The sensation was unnerving, yet he maintained a remarkably calm demeanor. A subtle smile crept across his face as he examined the peculiar scene unfolding before him.

"Damn, those three are utterly unreliable; they're the only ones stirring up trouble!"

"Wow, what a handsome young man!"

"What's great about good looks when, as a Trainer, his reaction time is so slow? He's probably going to meet an untimely end!"

"This is so daunting; I can't bear to watch..."

The barrage of comments flooded in, a mix of playful banter and genuine concern, primarily targeting the hapless trio. As the camera zoomed in on the dense foliage of the Mysterious Forest, the entire incident was broadcast live to an eager audience. The director expertly read the viewers' desires for excitement, understanding that such moments of tension drew people in like moths to a flame.

Though the three individuals had fled, the camera remained locked on Adrian, capturing every detail of his imminent danger. Behind the lens, the director Winslow sighed, a mix of sympathy and resignation evident in his stance. "There's no other choice. For the sake of ratings, I must expose your unfortunate situation to the public."

Despite his words, director Winslow continued to manipulate the footage with ruthless efficiency. In the secret realm, most candidates preferred to form alliances, work in teams during assessments, and share their hard-earned points equally. Very few, like Adrian, ventured forth alone, making his daring approach an intriguing novelty to behold.

Everyone was on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating how he would confront the formidable Beedrill group. The tension in the air was palpable; if the situation became untenable, Pokémon troops would undoubtedly rush into the secret realm to rescue the candidates. The audience's excitement was mirrored in the barrage of comments that streamed across the screen, Emojies like "nervous" and "sweating" punctuating the intensity of the moment.

Amidst this charged atmosphere, Adrian's expression remained remarkably composed. However, beneath his calm facade, a surge of exhilaration coursed through him. Instead of fear or apprehension, he experienced a thrilling rush at the sight of countless points swirling toward him. With Mewtwo—the legendary Pokémon known for its overwhelming power—by his side, the swarm of Beedrills looked like nothing more than a simple appetizer, hardly enough to fill a plate!

"Get ready, Gible! Use Dragon Breath!" he commanded, his voice steady and confident. "Mewtwo, I need your support. Keep Gible safe from any attacks!"

Both Pokémon nodded, their determination evident.

Gible, initially anxious, felt a wave of courage wash over it with Mewtwo nearby. Its previous nervousness melted away as it steadied itself, focusing its energy. A powerful aura began to build deep within its belly, coiling like a spring before it surged to the surface. As Gible opened its mouth, a torrent of blue energy shot forth, transforming into a spiraling wave of Dragon Breath that blasted through the air like a fierce whirlwind, heading straight for the Beedrill colony.

The impact of Gible's attack was nothing short of spectacular. The force of the Dragon Breath quickly overwhelmed the first row of Beedrills, sending the two closest ones hurtling backward, their bodies slamming to the ground in a daze. The remaining Beedrills froze momentarily, their crimson eyes widening with shock. The frenzy of their wingbeats shifted from aggressive to evasive as they began to retreat, their movements cautious and deliberate. A few cunning individuals slipped around the edges, seeking to flank Gible, their poison-tipped tails glistening ominously in the dim light.

"Watch out behind you!" a voice rang out from the audience, filled with urgency.

"Is Gible—could it possibly be—the future pseudo-legendary?" another voice wondered in awe.

"What other Pokémon is keeping that one company? Can anyone identify it? I've never seen something so powerful before!"

"Wow! Watching a Trainer take on the Beedrill group single-handedly is undeniably the most thrilling spectacle in this graduation exam!" The flood of comments reflected the viewers' exhilaration, their emotions rising and falling with every move in the battle.

As Gible unleashed its Dragon Breath, it became painfully clear to the viewers that the boy before them was a Trainer to be reckoned with, someone who commanded respect.

Meanwhile, one of the Beedrills, propelled by desperation, launched a Poison Barb attack aimed directly at Gible. But before it could connect, the projectile fell harmlessly to the ground, thwarted by an unseen energy barrier. Mewtwo had taken action, its expression as indifferently cool as ever, with its piercing purple eyes scanning the Beedrill ranks with an air of superiority.

Then, an unsettling stillness enveloped the Beedrill group. They seemed to sense an ominous threat looming overhead, a chill creeping into their collective consciousness. The frantic buzzing of their wings grew louder, a frantic rhythm that hinted at their shared terror. Pokémon were known for their uncanny ability to detect danger, and the Beedrills were no exception.

"Now, Mewtwo! Use Swift!" Adrian barked, his voice cutting through the tense silence.

With a graceful flick of its hand, Mewtwo summoned a dazzling display of starlight from the depths of the mysterious forest. It cascaded down like a celestial shower, each tiny light twinkling brightly against the darkening sky like stars falling from the heavens. The starlight enveloped the Beedrill group, a breathtaking spectacle that illuminated the battleground.

In an instant, the explosion rang out, a brilliant flash that obliterated the oncoming Beedrills in a sweeping wave! Dust billowed into the air, obscuring the battlefield in a cloud of chaotic energy.

"Buzzing..." The startled cries of the Beedrills filled the air as they flapped frantically, but their efforts were in vain. The dust settled, revealing the remains of the Beedrill swarm; they dropped from the skies like stones, either unconscious or utterly dazed.

**Ding!**
