Chapter 127: Chapter 127: The Guardian of Alto Mare—Latias!

Chapter 127: The Guardian of Alto Mare—Latias!

In its weakened state, Noivern was quickly defeated by Gardevoir's Psychic.

However, this presented a problem for Hikaru.

His remaining Pokémon were Latias, Pupitar, and Gardevoir.

In the Aerial Field, Pupitar was nearly useless.

That left Latias or Gardevoir.

But Gardevoir had already expended much of its energy in the previous battles.

Hikaru was left with two options:

1. Use Mega Evolution for Gardevoir.

2. Send out Latias.

Otherwise, his chances of winning were slim.

"Come on out, Dragonair!"

Across the field, Sakura still looked as composed as ever. After utilizing her Dragon Tamer Power once, she didn't seem fatigued in the slightest. It was as if she could amplify her Pokémon two or three more times without issue.

Her stamina was remarkable!

When Dragonair emerged, its level began to skyrocket once again.

In a matter of moments, it reached Level 49.

"Whew…" Hikaru let out a long sigh.

"Dragonair, Dragon Dance!"

[Gardevoir, interrupt it with Psychic Fangs!]

While Gardevoir's Judgment ability could weaken Dragonair's buffs, Hikaru wasn't about to let it freely set up with Dragon Dance.

"Protect!"

A faint protective shield enveloped Dragonair, effortlessly blocking the Psychic Fangs.

Hikaru blinked in surprise.

What?

Using Protect while setting up Dragon Dance?

[Fine, Gardevoir, go all out with Mindstorm!]

[Mindstorm] converted all of Gardevoir's psychic energy into a single, devastating storm.

Rather than wait for Dragonair to become fully buffed, Hikaru decided to unleash everything in one decisive blow.

"Gardevoir!" (Understood, Hikaru!)

Gardevoir's demeanor turned serious, sensing the immense energy radiating from its opponent.

Psychic energy, typically invisible, began to take physical form.

The floating platforms throughout the arena quivered and clattered as if drawn by some unseen force.

Even the Titan Metagross floating overhead opened its eyes in surprise, directing its gaze toward Gardevoir.

Its psychic field had been disturbed!

"Abandon Dragon Dance! Use Protect again!"

Sakura immediately sensed the power of the incoming attack.

But what kind of move was this?

The storm formed out of thin air, carrying tremendous force as it struck Dragonair's protective barrier.

Clang!

The sound of metal reverberated through the arena as if steel clashed against steel.

Crack!

"What?"

The shield shattered, and Sakura stared in disbelief.

The audience was equally stunned.

First, Greninja's Extreme Electric Chidori, and now Gardevoir had its own unique, overpowered move?

"Dragonair?!"

The crowd erupted with excitement.

"What a move! Hikaru's Gardevoir has unleashed another self-created technique! This trainer's talent is simply off the charts!"

In the VIP section, the elderly woman among the Elite Four sighed.

"With each generation, new talents emerge, and they always outshine the old ones. The future belongs to these youngsters."

Others praised Kei Yoji and Mizuki.

"You two really have a good eye for talent. This champion from Hunan Province is truly exceptional."

"Even with only one fully fit Pokémon left on Sakura's team, and Hikaru still holding two untouched, it seems like the champion is decided."

---

On the field, as the storm cleared, Gardevoir landed weakly on a floating platform.

Its Excruciating Blow skill had triggered, increasing its damage to type-advantaged opponents by 10–15%.

Dragonair, unable to withstand the immense force, was knocked out.

"Dragonair and Gardevoir are both unable to battle. Trainers, please send out your next Pokémon!"

Hikaru clutched Latias's Poké Ball.

Across from him, Sakura released Vikavolt.

A smile played on her lips.

Sakura was playing seriously, giving her brother no excuses.

But Hikaru wasn't troubled by her determination.

He was debating something else entirely—the fame of Latias.

Latias was… well, Latias.

"Screw it," Hikaru muttered. "I've already been flashy enough. What's one more thing?"

"Come on out, Latias!"

Hikaru pressed the release button on the Poké Ball.

Latias made a dazzling entrance.

Its sleek, streamlined red body, reminiscent of a high-speed jet, and its bright, intelligent eyes captivated the audience.

The moment Latias appeared, the crowd fell silent.

Latias?

What kind of Pokémon was this?

"It's so cute! I wonder how strong it is?"

"Oh my gosh, Hikaru's Pokémon are either gorgeous or majestic. This Latias just stole my heart!"

But among the spectators from Alto Mare, confusion turned to shock.

They stared at Latias, flying gracefully in the arena, their mouths agape.

"L-Latias?! That's Latias?!"

As residents of Alto Mare, Latias was their guardian deity.

To think someone had actually partnered with their protector?

"Hmm!"

Latias let out a clear, melodious cry, circling the arena in a flash.

"So fast!"

Its speed stunned the entire stadium.

---

In the VIP section, the elderly Elite Four member shook her head in disbelief.

"This boy has even captured a Mirage Pokémon?"

She had seen a lot in her long life, and though Hikaru's earlier performance was remarkable, it was within her expectations.

But this?

A Mirage Pokémon?

The rarity alone made her incredulous.

"Didn't think we'd see Latias until the very end…" Mizuki remarked.

Luckily, the field was the Aerial Field.

Otherwise, knowing Hikaru, he might have sent out Pupitar instead.

"The future is limitless for this one," Kei Yoji added, sighing in admiration.

For Mirage Pokémon and Legendary Pokémon, the bond wasn't just about catching them.

It was about earning their recognition.

Most of these rare beings didn't form partnerships with humans. At best, they collaborated temporarily before going their separate ways.

But this Latias…

It had emerged from Hikaru's Poké Ball, a clear sign of their genuine partnership.
