Pregnant After Healing the Alpha

Chapter 121 - 115: A Beautiful Misunderstanding, Qiao Jing's Embarrassment

Chapter 121: Chapter 115: A Beautiful Misunderstanding, Qiao Jing’s Embarrassment

Zhan Qipei’s pupils dilated instantly as the girl’s hand kept searching on his leg.

In an instant, Zhan Qipei felt like he had no control over his body.

“Huh?” Qiao Jing had been grasping for quite some time without catching anything and turned her head in confusion to look, and that look—ugh—would have been better not to look at all.

Pretty awkward.

She had originally intended to grab popcorn but, just as the plot was reaching its climax, she was too engrossed to care and reached out automatically.

But after a while, she still hadn’t grasped what felt like popcorn.

Instead, it felt very strange.

“Sorry, I thought it was popcorn.”

Zhan Qipei looked at his own leg and wondered what his leg had to do with popcorn; if anything, it resembled a corn cob more closely.

“No problem.” Zhan Qipei smoothed out the creases in his trousers and handed the popcorn bucket to Qiao Jing.

“Aren’t you going to eat any?” Qiao Jing asked politely.

Zhan Qipei wasn’t particularly interested in snacks and, after being silent for two seconds, he extended his hand in front of Qiao Jing, palm up.

Qiao Jing looked at the piece of popcorn she had just picked up and then at Zhan Qipei’s hand extended in front of her.

After hesitating for two seconds, Qiao Jing placed the popcorn into his palm.

“Thank you.” Zhan Qipei was quite satisfied with Qiao Jing’s action and began to chew on the popcorn in his mouth with enjoyment.

As Qiao Jing watched the man’s face show a contented expression, she felt an indescribable weirdness in her heart.

Half an hour later, Qiao Jing put down the empty popcorn bucket and stood up.

“What are you doing?” Zhan Qipei looked up and asked.

“I’m going to buy another bucket.”

“I’ll go.” Zhan Qipei said, about to stand up.

Just then, a terrifying scene suddenly appeared in the movie.

The girl seated next to Qiao Jing screamed “Ah—” and, in her fright, accidentally bumped Qiao Jing hard.

Caught off guard, Qiao Jing lost her balance and fell onto the man.

The fall was one thing, but the placement was rather awkward.

“Mmm—hmm—” A low, muffled groan escaped from the man’s mouth.

Qiao Jing quickly raised her head and looked at the man, “Are you okay?”

Qiao Jing felt relieved that the theater was dark as she asked, or else she would have felt quite embarrassed, as this was not like performing surgery.

During surgery, Zhan Qipei was a patient.

Outside of surgery, Zhan Qipei was a man.

The difference was significant.

“No, too good.” The restraint in Zhan Qipei’s voice wasn’t faked, and his words weren’t entirely a lie either.

Whoever it was, being bumped into that unmentionable area by a girl he cared about would feel bad.

As a physician, Qiao Jing was well aware of the weak points on a man’s body, and indeed, if that area were knocked or bumped into, it could not be ignored.

“Should I take a look for you?”

When Qiao Jing said this, she treated Zhan Qipei purely as a patient.

The light flashed across Zhan Qipei’s dark pupils before he dropped his gaze and nodded.

“Yes, that would be great, thank you.”

“Don’t worry, I caused it, I will take responsibility.” Qiao Jing said solemnly to Zhan Qipei.

“Alright, I’ll remember your words. Now, could you please check it for me?” Zhan Qipei leaned back, waiting for Qiao Jing’s next move.

What were they doing? Lan Yinyin, who was sitting some distance away, could not see clearly due to the dim lighting of the theater, but she vaguely felt that Qiao Jing seemed to be doing something to Zhan Qipei.

At that thought, Lan Yinyin’s eyes widened like copper bells.

The next second, Lan Yinyin immediately dismissed her thoughts.

How could it be possible? This was a movie theater; it couldn’t possibly be what she was thinking.

But—

Judging from the contours of the two almost melting into one, they really did look alike!

Lan Yinyin grew more and more uneasy as she thought about it, until she finally couldn’t help but stand up and walk towards Qiao Jing and Zhan Qipei.

“Why aren’t you moving?” Zhan Qipei had waited for quite a while but Qiao Jing did not make a move on him, which made him quite impatient.

Qiao Jing stopped the action of undoing the man’s belt, her eyes sharp and inquisitive as she scrutinized him.

“Are you deceiving me?”

“Whether I am deceiving you or not, won’t you know if you look?” Zhan Qipei replied, his tone unruffled.

After pondering for a few seconds, Qiao Jing returned to her seat and sat down, continuing to watch the movie.

Could he still be suspecting that the person who operated on him that day was her? So was he intentionally testing her just now?

But could such a test reveal anything?

Perhaps he really did have a way to figure it out?

By the time Lan Yinyin arrived, Qiao Jing and Zhan Qipei were sitting properly, watching the movie.

It turned out she was overthinking it.

A minute later, Qiao Jing stood up again.

“I’ll go for popcorn. I also need to use the restroom, so I’ll buy it myself.”

With Qiao Jing saying this, it wasn’t appropriate for Zhan Qipei to offer his service, as he obviously couldn’t take her place in using the restroom.

As soon as Qiao Jing left the theater, Lan Yinyin followed suit.

Zhan Qipei saw this scene.

“It’s her, she has come too.”

Zhan Qipei narrowed his eyes slightly and stealthily followed.

He was worried that Lan Yinyin might harbor malicious intentions towards Qiao Jing, who was unaware. If something happened, where would he find another wife as good as her?

As soon as Qiao Jing came out of the restroom, she saw Lan Yinyin waiting at the door.

What a coincidence? She was here too?

Or was it that she had followed them?

Before Qiao Jing could finish analyzing, Lan Yinyin approached her.

Now Qiao Jing understood that Lan Yinyin was waiting for her.

“Qiao Jing, I have something I’d like to ask for your help with.”

Qiao Jing looked at Lan Yinyin with a puzzled face, “We aren’t close.”

“I know, but I am close to President Zhan, and so are you. Calculating it like that, we can be considered acquaintances,” Lan Yinyin said with a smile.

Qiao Jing frowned, “I don’t agree with that logic. By your reasoning, if a black horse equals a horse, and a white horse equals a horse, then a white horse equals a black horse?”

Lan Yinyin “…”

She was just using this approach to start the conversation, did you have to be so exacting? And even providing her with an example.

Zhan Qipei, hiding on the side, suppressed his laughter, his eyes filled with adoration as he watched Qiao Jing.

She was truly the wife he had chosen; such a high level of intelligence, not something the average lackey could compare with.

“Cough cough—,” Lan Yinyin cleared her throat to relieve the awkwardness.

“I won’t say anymore nonsense and will get straight to the point. Can you give me the movie ticket?”

“Why?” Qiao Jing asked expressionlessly.

“Because I like President Zhan, and I want to be with him,” Lan Yinyin stated earnestly. “Moreover, I’ve heard that on the first day of your marriage, President Zhan almost ran you over with a car, which shows he doesn’t like you. Also, I’ve heard that aside from Old Master Zhan, everyone in the Zhan Family looks down on you. Since that’s the case, why bother staying in the Zhan Family? If you help me catch President Zhan a day earlier, it’s the same as helping yourself get out of misery sooner.”

Qiao Jing looked deeply at Lan Yinyin, then pulled the movie ticket out of her pocket.

As Zhan Qipei watched this unfold, his face instantly turned as dark as the bottom of a pot.

Did she dislike him that much?

Lan Yinyin reached out excitedly to take the movie ticket, “Tha—” Before she could finish saying ‘thanks’, she saw Qiao Jing retract the movie ticket back.
