Pupet Master in Konoha

Hideki arrived at the entrance of the orphanage and saw that Guy had followed his father here as well.

He noticed that despite just moving around, the child hadn't forgotten his exercise routine. Guy was walking back and forth in the entrance, doing headstands. There were many children nearby, clapping joyfully.

Hideki took a step forward, pulled out a handful of sweets, bribed the onlookers to disperse, and then smiled at Dai.

"You must be Dai's son. You look just like him."

Dai stood up, tilted his head, and said, "Really? But Dad says I look more like Mom."

Hideki was momentarily stunned, then patted Dai's watermelon-shaped head and said, "Don't say that again. It would make your mom too sad."

"Got it."

Dai nodded and then tilted his head, sensing that something was off...

Hideki then smiled and said, "Sorry for bringing you here suddenly. If you ever feel uncomfortable, just let me or Aunt Kurenai know."

"Aunt Kurenai might seem strict with the kids, but it's for your own good."

"If you get along with her for a while, you'll see she's actually very nice."

After saying this, Hideki silently thought to himself: Aunt Kurenai, Dai, I can only help you here.

Guy also nodded to show that he understood.

Then Hideki tapped his forehead and said, "Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself. My name is Kimura Hideki, and I'm a puppet master."

"Dai, when you graduate, you could become my student."

"Oh! So you're Mr. Hideki. I've heard others talk about you."

Dai's eyes lit up, and he said, "The most popular Pocket Puppet Beast in school was invented by you, right, teacher?"

After Hideki confirmed this, Dai eagerly asked for more details.

Hideki didn't expect Dai, already a graduate, to know about the Pocket Puppet Beast and be so interested in it.

It seemed that no matter how obsessed Dai was with physical skills, he was still a child and couldn't fully resist the temptation of toys.

This made Hideki feel a bit sympathetic toward the boy.

Unlike Kakashi, who graduated early due to his outstanding grades, Guy didn't have the same kind of natural talent in ninjutsu. He was considered to have little potential in that area and therefore allowed to graduate early.

But this wasn't really a good thing for Dai. The physical training, like lifting weights, was actually more beneficial for him than sitting in class. However, if he was separated from his friends too soon, the boy might feel very lonely...

Out of sympathy, Hideki suggested with a smile, "Dai, if you're interested in the Pocket Puppet Beast, I can let you try one."

But to his surprise, Dai didn't happily agree; instead, he said seriously, "There's no need, Mr. Hideki. I already have a Pocket Puppetmon."

With that, Dai pulled something out of his bag and showed it to Hideki.

Upon closer inspection, Hideki couldn't help but wonder, as no matter how he looked at it, it appeared to be a round turtle shell...

Fortunately, he understood what Guy meant when Dai placed the shell on the ground and began making strange noises.

"Kakakaka… Bang!"

Under his artificial voice acting, the turtle shell surprisingly stretched out its head, limbs, and tail, moving in coordination.

There was also a string attached to the turtle, and the other end was connected to a wooden stick with several patterns drawn with a pen that resembled a handle.

Then, Guy began pressing the patterns on the stick while continuing to give instructions.

"Turn left, move forward, and charge!"

Surprisingly, the turtle seemed to understand and followed the instructions, even charging toward Hideki's left foot.

However, Hideki estimated that the turtle's charge would take at least thirty seconds to reach...

Afterward, Dai proudly said, "My old classmates told me you said Pocket Puppet Beasts can't be lent to others, so I made this one myself."

"Teacher, do you think this counts as a Pocket Puppet Beast? Can we play with it together?"

Hideki nearly burst into tears…

"Forget it, of course."

He patted Dai's head gently and said, "Because Pocket Puppet Beasts are free, but..."

As he spoke, he looked at the turtle, which had stopped in the middle of its charge and was now resting, and added, "First, we need to strengthen your turtle. Dai, take it with you and follow me."

Then Hideki led Dai to the temporary workshop.

As Dai looked curiously at the tools on the walls, Hideki quickly gathered a bunch of parts and began transforming the turtle in the blink of an eye.

When Dai looked back at the turtle, he realized it had completely changed.

To improve its mobility, Hideki first created a mini scooter as a vehicle for it.

Now, the turtle could simply push itself with its hands, and its body would sit on the scooter and speed off across the table.

Next, to enhance its attack methods, Hideki transformed a Squirtle water spray device into a rotating turret and installed it on the turtle's shell.

Even the less powerful water cannon could easily shoot pieces of wood the size of a Rubik's Cube.

Finally, Hideki added breathable armor to the entire turtle, including its shell, and hid the core of the puppet beast inside.

Now, this living puppet beast had a health system, making it ready for Pocket Puppet Beast battles.

"With this armor, this turtle can definitely participate in a Pocket Puppet Beast battle."

Hideki returned the transformed turtle to Dai and smiled, "By the way, it seems like it doesn't have a name yet, so Dai, why don't you give it a nice one?"

Dai took the turtle and ran around the workshop, overjoyed.

"I've got it!"

After releasing his excitement, he ran to Hideki and said loudly, "Water Arrow Turtle, teacher, from now on, it will be called Water Arrow Turtle, okay?"

Unexpectedly, Hideki shook his head repeatedly and said, "That name is already taken, please choose another one."
