Quiz Game system: starting from Marvel Universe

Chapter 635: Public Punishment, Level Five Penalty!

"Damn it!"

Charles' expression shifted dramatically the moment the golden beam of light enveloped him. He immediately realized that the mental link between him and Sebastian had been severed.

He hadn't participated in the quiz game before, so he was unaware that it could block superpowers. But even if he had known, it wouldn't have made a difference—the golden beam descended too suddenly, catching them completely off guard.

Erik's face darkened as well. He glared furiously at Sebastian, who had just regained his composure.

"Haha! Looks like I should be thanking this bizarre game. Although it's left me in a mess…"

Sebastian took a deep breath, stretched his neck, and gradually recovered his usual villainous demeanor.

He now regarded Erik and Charles with a mocking smirk. "How foolish. We mutants have already declared total war on humanity—why must we fight amongst ourselves?

Erik, so what if you've seen the future? It hasn't helped you grow one bit. Hmph! If it weren't for that telepathic kid helping you, you wouldn't even be my match."

Charles sighed deeply, feeling a tinge of regret. Perhaps he shouldn't have stopped Erik from killing Sebastian earlier. He hadn't anticipated their plan would fall apart at such a critical moment, allowing Sebastian to escape. Catching this cunning fox again wouldn't be easy, and now they'd have to worry about him striking first.

Under the golden beam, Charles noticed that all superpowers were suppressed, but Sebastian remained unaffected outside. In other words, the situation had completely reversed.

Sebastian's expression indeed carried a smug sense of victory. Seeing Charles and Erik remain silent, he began trying to recruit them, threatening to kill them if they refused to submit.

Sebastian, despite being a villain, wasn't some crude thug. He had ambitions—uniting mutants and achieving his dream of ruling the world.

He was also aware that, even with their superpowers, mutants were still at a disadvantage against modern human society. For this reason, he had a rule not to kill fellow mutants.

As shown in the future revealed by the quiz game, when he led an attack on the CIA base, he killed many humans but spared mutants like Raven and Hank, even after they rejected his offer to join him. The only mutant he killed was Darwin, who actively tried to attack him.

Now, faced with the hostility of Erik and Charles, Sebastian still hoped to recruit these two powerful allies to strengthen his cause.

His silver tongue was put to work—he targeted Charles, highlighting the setbacks he would face in the future, persuading him to "come to his senses" and abandon humanity. On the other hand, he tempted Erik with promises of power, insisting that together they could make mutants the rulers of Earth. Once their shared goal was achieved, Erik could do whatever he pleased with him.

However, no matter how persuasive he tried to be, Erik and Charles responded with cold sneers or stoic expressions.

Erik even mocked him outright: "Had enough of talking, Sebastian? You should just admit your failure. Your ideology isn't the problem—it's that you're unfit to lead mutants to greatness.

All your bluster and aggression are just a front, a way to cover up the weakness and inferiority you feel deep down. You're no different from Raven or Hank—ashamed of your mutant identity."

Sebastian's smile froze, and a murderous glint flashed in his eyes. "Nonsense!" he barked before unleashing his energy powers in an attack aimed directly at Erik.

In their earlier battle, Sebastian had absorbed a significant amount of energy. Now, as he released it, he was confident he could completely annihilate Erik, leaving no trace behind.

But the moment his energy blast touched the golden beam, an unexpected development occurred.

The golden beam remained unshaken, absorbing the energy attack as though it were nothing more than a pebble tossed into the ocean. Inside the beam, Erik was entirely unharmed.

Sebastian frowned, unwilling to accept the outcome. He unleashed a series of energy blasts, hammering the golden beam with everything he had. Yet no matter how much power he poured into his attacks, the beam remained unscathed, not even a crack appearing.

Exhausted and enraged, Sebastian glared at Erik, who wore a smug, taunting grin. Just then, a booming, authoritative voice resounded from above:

[Sebastian Shaw, You Have Severely Violated The Rules Of The Game. You Will Be Subjected To A Level Five Punishment!]

Unlike Loki, who had been penalized earlier for attacking the golden beam, Sebastian's offense carried far greater consequences, warranting a fifth-level punishment. Previously, even repeated offenses had only resulted in first-level penalties.

This announcement reverberated across the multiverse, with the light screen broadcasting the scene involving Sebastian, Erik, and Charles. Clearly, the quiz game intended to make an example out of Sebastian through a public execution.

Above the trio, the once-clear sky suddenly grew dark as thick, churning clouds rolled in. It was as if black waves were crashing overhead.

A moment ago, the sun had been shining brightly. Now, the sky had plunged into an oppressive darkness akin to midnight. The heavy clouds stacked layer upon layer, exuding a suffocating sense of dread, as though the heavens were about to collapse.

Even through the screen, countless viewers could feel the overwhelming fear. Some with weaker nerves burst into tears on the spot.

Veteran participants of the quiz game held their breath, eyes fixed on the light screen, fully aware that something unprecedented was about to happen.

As for Sebastian himself, his eyes widened in terror. Cold sweat drenched his forehead, and his body was frozen in place as if paralyzed. Though fear consumed him, he was unable to move a muscle.

Soon, amidst the rumbling of thunder, fierce winds howled, and the thick clouds parted, revealing a horrifying sight: a Giant, eerie eye that filled the entire sky, silently gazing down at them. Or rather, it was gazing at the entire planet.

This wasn't just terrifying for Sebastian—Erik and Charles found themselves frozen in place, their breaths caught in their throats, their minds reeling. They were certain that half the planet had witnessed this colossal, unsettling eye.

It was as if a titan, far larger than a star, loomed outside Earth's atmosphere, peering down at the planet with an indifferent gaze.

To this unfathomable being, Earth might appear no larger than a marble.

At that moment, all satellites, space stations, and radar systems ceased functioning. Every device capable of observing the scene failed, plunging the world into chaos. Those watching through the light screen were gripped by an overwhelming sense of despair.
