Chapter 5: Chapter 5 : A Rare Opportunity (Purle Qi from the East)
The first rays of dawn seeped into the hospital room, bathing it in a golden hue. But something extraordinary was happening a faint, almost imperceptible purple light shimmered in the sky, stretching out from the east like a celestial omen.
Lin Fei, who had been cultivating through the night, suddenly felt a surge of energy. His eyes flew open, glimmering with astonishment he looked towards the window and saw the rising sun.
"Purple Qi from the East?" he whispered, a mixture of disbelief and excitement surging through him.
This phenomenon was exceedingly rare, even in the Shenzhong World. Purple Qi, the purest and most condensed form of Yuan Qi, was a treasure sought by cultivators for its potent effects. To encounter it here, on Earth, was beyond his expectations.
Lin Fei steadied his breathing, his mind quickly focusing as he extended his soul power outward. His vast soul, inherited from Xiao Dong, acted like a magnet, pulling strands of the ethereal Purple Qi toward him. It was faint and sparse, but even a wisp of it carried immense power.
As the Purple Qi entered his body, Lin Fei guided it with precision, directing it toward his first meridian. The energy surged like a river of molten gold, burning away impurities and strengthening the pathway. The pain was sharp, but Lin Fei gritted his teeth, his focus unshaken.
Suddenly, boom! A subtle burst of energy echoed through his consciousness as a section of his meridian refined completely. The sensation was invigorating, a stark contrast to the slow progress he had made throughout the night.
"This little bit of Purple Qi… it's more effective than hours of regular cultivation," he marveled, feeling a newfound vitality course through his body.
However, just as quickly as it had appeared, the Purple Qi dissipated with the rising sun. Lin Fei opened his eyes, a mix of excitement and disappointment flashing in them.
"It's gone" he muttered. "But this changes everything. If I can harness more of it, my cultivation will progress by leaps and bounds."
"I have to find place for my cultivation on some high mountain peak, so that, I can absorb more Purple Qi, and also have to practice body technique, to make my body absorb more Qi" he thought about some body Technique in Xiao dong's memories.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps. A nurse entered the room, carrying a tray with breakfast.
"You're awake," the nurse said with a smile, setting the tray on the table. "How are you feeling?"
Lin Fei nodded slightly. "Better," he replied, the vitality from the Purple Qi making his voice steadier than before.
After the nurse left, Lin Fei ate quickly, his mind still buzzing with the implications of what he had experienced. He barely finished when the door opened again, and Su Qing stepped in, carrying a small bag.
"Good morning," she greeted, her voice warm. Her eyes briefly scanned him, a hint of relief softening her features. "You look better today."
Lin Fei straightened, surprised by the sight of her. She walked over and placed the bag on the table, pulling out a thermos.
"This is Herbal black chicken soup," Su Qing explained, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush. "It's my grandmother's recipe. It's good for vitality and recovery."
Lin Fei hesitated, touched by her thoughtfulness. "Thank you, Miss…"
Su Qing blinked, then covered her mouth in mild embarrassment. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Su Qing, a college student. I was on my way to class when the accident happened."
Lin Fei nodded politely. "Thank you, Miss Su Qing."
Her blush deepened, and she waved her hands dismissively. "Just Su Qing is fine. Or… you can call me Sister Su Qing," she added, her voice faltering slightly as she spoke the last words.
Lin Fei froze, his ears turning slightly red. He had never experienced such warmth from anyone before, and the suggestion caught him off guard. "S-Sister Su Qing…" he repeated meekly, his voice barely audible.
Su Qing giggled, amused by his shy response. "That's better," she said, her tone teasing but gentle.
They talked for a while, the conversation light but comforting. Lin Fei found himself relaxing in her presence, the ache in his body momentarily forgotten.
Eventually, Su Qing glanced at her phone and sighed. "I have to go now. My classes are starting soon."
She stood, smoothing her skirt. "You should rest. I'll come back after my classes to check on you, okay?"
Lin Fei nodded, watching reluctantly, as she left the room. For a moment, the space felt emptier without her presence.
As the door clicked shut, Lin Fei leaned back against the pillow, his mind turning inward. The experience with the Purple Qi had rekindled his resolve.
Xiao Dong's voice echoed in his memory. "Strength is the only way to change your fate."
Lin Fei clenched his fists, his gaze firm. "I've lived too long for others sacrificing, struggling, and enduring. From now on, I'll live for myself." he thought about Xiao Dong's memories and that so called 'family' for which, he has sacrificed everything, even his life.
He cleared his mind of those memories and closed his eyes, visualizing the next steps in his cultivation. The memory of the Purple Qi lingered in his thoughts, a reminder of the opportunities waiting to be seized.
"Earth may lack Yuan Qi, but it's not devoid of treasures," he mused. "I'll find them. And I'll rise above this world."
The determination in his heart burned brighter than ever, lighting the path ahead.
Lin Fei's thoughts grew sharper as his resolve solidified. Determined to rise above his circumstances, he delved deeper into the vast repository of memories inherited from Xiao Dong. Amidst the torrents of battle techniques, cultivation arts, and profound knowledge, one particular memory surfaced like a glowing beacon.
The image of a radiant figure floated in his consciousness a spirit, glowing with an ethereal brilliance, exuding an aura of infinite wisdom. It was the Heaven's Bead Spirit, a manifestation that Xiao Dong had encountered during a rare moment of enlightenment.
The spirit's voice echoed in his mind, calm yet commanding:
"The body is the vessel of the soul. Only by refining it to perfection can one truly unlock the essence of Heaven and Earth."
Lin Fei watched as Xiao Dong, in the memory, bowed respectfully before the spirit. The bead spirit revealed a technique unlike any other the Heavenly Scripture of Body Refinement.
"This technique…" Lin Fei muttered, his breath catching as the profound details unraveled in his mind.
The scripture emphasized cultivating the body to its utmost potential, turning it into a vessel as durable as celestial steel, as resilient as flowing water, and as adaptable as the wind. Unlike ordinary body techniques, this one wasn't limited to physical endurance. It synchronized the physical body with spiritual energy, making it a perfect conduit for Yuan Qi.
"The bead gave me this technique?" Lin Fei thought in awe, his mind racing. Xiao Dong had barely begun to practice it in his past life, as its requirements were astronomically high requiring pure Yuan Qi, immense endurance, and an unyielding will.
"But now, the bead is part of me. Could it mean… I was meant to master this?"
