Reborn as Petunia Evans with a System

Chapter 12: Chapter 11

The day after receiving my Hogwarts letter was already thrilling, but as I sat in my room, admiring the envelope with the Hogwarts crest, a soft chime sounded in my head—the unmistakable notification from the System.

System Alert: Congratulations on reaching a major milestone! As a reward, you have been granted:

100,000 Galleons Magical Enhancement Boost Veela Allure Pill

The rush of magic that surged through me was unlike anything I had ever felt before. It coursed through my veins, electrifying yet soothing, as though every cell in my body had been awakened. The enhancement made my magical core feel stronger, brighter, and more alive.

I picked up the small vial that had appeared on my desk. The pill shimmered with a pearly iridescence, radiating an ethereal glow. The description from the System mentioned that it would bestow upon the user the enchanting allure of a Veela—a beauty so captivating that it seemed otherworldly. My curiosity won over any hesitation, and I swallowed the pill.

Almost immediately, I felt a change. It wasn't painful—just an overwhelming sensation of lightness and warmth, as though I was glowing from within. I hurried to the mirror, and the reflection staring back at me took my breath away.

My wavy blonde hair shimmered like spun gold, catching the light in a way that seemed almost magical. My blue eyes, already bright, now seemed to glow with an irresistible magnetism, as if they held secrets waiting to be uncovered. My lips, once a soft pink, were now a natural, deep red, as though kissed by the morning sun. My skin looked flawless, radiant, and otherworldly.

I decided to wear a red dress with delicate lace details and matching red doll shoes. The headband I placed in my hair added a playful yet elegant touch. I didn't need cosmetics anymore—nature, or perhaps magic, had perfected me.

As I descended the stairs, I heard my mother, Violet, call for me. "Petunia! Lily! Let's get going, or we'll be late for the birthday dinner!"

When I reached the bottom of the stairs, my mother looked up and smiled warmly. "You look extra beautiful today, Petunia," she said, her voice full of pride.

"Thank you, Mum," I replied, giving her a soft smile.

Father nodded in agreement. "Stunning as always, Tuney."

Their reaction wasn't too dramatic—they'd watched me grow into my beauty since I was a 4 years old child after i take the beauty enhancement pill reward of the system , and being my parents, the allure didn't have the same overwhelming effect on them.

But Lily… Lily stared at me. Her green eyes widened as she took in the sight of me. I could see the shadow of doubt flicker across her face, the way her shoulders slightly slumped.

--Lily POV

The day had been exciting enough with the arrival of our Hogwarts letters, but as Petunia came down the stairs, I felt the air shift. It wasn't something tangible, but it was there—an undeniable aura about her.

She looked stunning. Absolutely perfect.

Her golden blonde hair caught the light like a halo, shimmering in soft waves that framed her flawless face. Her blue eyes sparkled like jewels, and her skin glowed with an almost ethereal radiance. She wasn't just beautiful—she was otherworldly.

Mum and Dad barely reacted to the change; they had always seen her as beautiful, so maybe they didn't notice how much more dazzling she had become. But I did.

I was staring at her, unable to look away, even as my stomach twisted with something bitter and unkind.

"Petunia, you look extra beautiful today," Mum said, beaming.

"Thank you, Mum," Petunia replied with her usual soft, perfect smile.

Dad nodded in agreement, his pride evident. "Stunning as always, Tuney."

Stunning. Perfect. Lovely. That was Petunia.

I glanced down at myself, my red hair cascading over my shoulders, my green eyes staring back at me from the reflection of the glass cabinet in the hallway. I'd always been told I was pretty, and I believed it—until moments like this.

Moments when Petunia stood next to me, effortlessly stealing every gaze, every word of admiration, without even trying.

It wasn't her fault. She wasn't doing it on purpose. And it wasn't like she lorded it over me or made me feel small. Petunia was too kind for that, too selfless.

But I couldn't stop the tiny stab of envy that pierced my chest as I watched her.

She turned to me, her radiant smile warm and genuine. "Are you ready, Lily? We don't want to be late for the reservation."

I pushed down the lump in my throat and forced myself to smile back. "Yeah, let's go."

The dinner was lovely, of course. Mum and Dad had gone all out for our birthday. The restaurant was elegant, the food was delicious, and we laughed over shared memories and dreams of the future.

When they handed us the velvet boxes, my heart skipped a beat. Inside mine was a beautiful ruby necklace, the deep red stone catching the light like a tiny flame. Petunia's held a sapphire, as blue and brilliant as her eyes.

"Thank you, Mum, Dad!" we said in unison, hugging them tightly.

But as I watched Petunia try on her necklace, the envy crept back in. It wasn't the necklace itself—I loved mine. It was the way the room seemed to revolve around her, how even strangers couldn't help but notice her as we walked back through the restaurant.

At school, it had always been the same. Boys would talk to me, but only to ask about Petunia. Girls wanted to be my friend, but I knew some of them were just trying to get closer to her.

And Petunia never noticed. She never saw how much of the attention should have been mine.

Back at home, as I got ready for bed, I tried to push the feelings away. Tuney had always been there for me. She was my best friend, my confidante. She wasn't responsible for how people reacted to her.

As we climbed into bed, the moonlight illuminated her face, making her look even more perfect. She caught me staring and smiled.

"Lily," she said, "do you think we'll be in the same house at Hogwarts?"

I hesitated, unsure how to respond.

"I don't know," I said carefully. "What do you think?"

She shrugged, her golden hair catching the light. "It doesn't matter if we are or not. Nothing will change between us, Lily. We'll always be sisters, no matter what."

Her words were sincere, and they should have comforted me. But instead, I felt a small flicker of hope ignite in my chest.

"Maybe we won't be," I murmured.

She didn't notice the double meaning behind my words.

That night, as I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, I made a silent wish.

I wished for Hogwarts to give me a chance to be more than just Petunia Evans's sister. To find my own light and step out of her shadow.

It wasn't that I didn't love her—I did. More than anything. But I needed a chance to shine, to be Lily, not just "Tuney's twin sister."

"Goodnight, Tuney," I said softly.

"Goodnight, Lily," she replied, her voice as kind and perfect as ever.

And as I drifted off to sleep, I held onto my wish, hoping that Hogwarts would be the place where I could finally stand on my own.
