Reborn as the Novel’s Villain: Cultivation Lost, Female Leads Take Control

Chapter 84 - I Like You, Pay the Price

Ji Hongluan’s captivating eyes gazed intently at Xu Yang’s flawless, almost breathtaking face. Her pupils glimmered with a trace of mischief as she lightly pressed her lips together.

“It seems you really enjoyed it. Otherwise, why would you hold on for so long?”

Xu Yang blinked, abruptly leaning back slightly.

“Apologies, Fairy Hongluan, I got distracted for a moment!”

He had indeed been lost in thought, reflecting on their recent exchanges through the communication talisman.

It wasn’t just his imagination—Ji Hongluan’s intentions were clear.

She wasn’t here for the beaver.

“It’s fine,” Ji Hongluan said, her tone light. “Let’s break the seal first.”

She leaned closer to Xu Yang as she spoke.

In that moment, Xu Yang froze.

“What’s wrong? If you keep hesitating, the wound will close. Or do you want another bite?”

Ji Hongluan placed her bitten finger in Xu Yang’s palm, her playful gaze teasing him, her words dripping with amusement.

Xu Yang forced himself to suppress his body’s natural reaction, carefully squeezing out a drop of her blood and letting it fall onto the jade pendant.

With a flash of white light and a faint cracking sound, the restrictive seal on the pendant shattered.

“Fairy Hongluan, is that sufficient now?” Xu Yang asked, his tone calm but edged with caution.

“It’s not,” Ji Hongluan replied, her eyes darkening.

“?”

Xu Yang frowned slightly, a question mark practically floating over his head.

‘Does it take more rituals to break this seal?’ he wondered. The Ji family certainly seemed determined to keep their techniques from leaking out.

Before Xu Yang could voice his doubts, Ji Hongluan elegantly swung her long, shapely leg over and seated herself directly on his lap. Her fingers trailed up his chest, lifting his robes slightly.

Leaning in so close her breath brushed his ear, she whispered,

“You bit me earlier, didn’t you? Well, it’s only fair that I bite you in return.”

“Fairy Hongluan, that’s not how this works,” Xu Yang protested, stiff as a board. “You asked me to bite you.”

“Oh?” Ji Hongluan raised an eyebrow, her fingers teasingly tracing circles on his chest.

“That’s a fair point. As compensation, I’ll let you bite me again. Where would you like to bite?”

Xu Yang’s thoughts ground to a halt.

“Fairy Hongluan, this…”

Her flushed cheeks curved into a sly smile.

“Just now, you glanced here 78 times. Is this where you want to bite?”

“Fairy Hongluan, this is—”

Xu Yang’s voice faltered, staring at the bold and unapologetic woman before him. One thought echoed in his mind:

‘How dare she?’

“What’s the matter? Can’t do it?” Ji Hongluan tilted her head, her gaze both challenging and mischievous.

“Fairy Hongluan, provoking me like this will have consequences,” Xu Yang said, sighing lightly. His Supreme Yang Physique, suppressed for so long, finally stirred.

“I don’t believe you. Unless you show me,” Ji Hongluan replied, her tone dripping with playful mockery.

Xu Yang’s eyes narrowed. If she was pushing him this far, refusing to act now would feel like backing down. Without another word, he reached out, wrapping his arm around her slender waist and pulling her into his embrace.

Just as he leaned in—

Ji Hongluan raised her hand, stopping him with a single finger pressed against his lips.

“You have to say it first: ‘I like you, and I’ll belong to you alone for the rest of my life.’ Only then will I let you proceed,” she said, her smile sly and enchanting, her gaze burning with a mix of challenge and desire.

“I like you, and I’ll—”

As Xu Yang began to speak, the vivid memories of his heart demon trial surged into his mind. Faces flashed before him—his disciples, each unique and irreplaceable.

He stopped mid-sentence.

Forcing himself to let go of Ji Hongluan, he gently but firmly created some distance between them.

“Why didn’t you finish?” Ji Hongluan asked, her eyes narrowing dangerously, her tone a blend of amusement and menace.

“Fairy Hongluan, I do like you. But I cannot promise to belong to you alone,” Xu Yang said earnestly, his gaze unwavering.

The images of his loyal and cherished disciples—Yuan Kouxuan, Situ Qingqing, Xue Jinli, and others—flashed through his mind. They were his family, his companions. To make such a promise to Ji Hongluan, even in jest, would betray them all.

“Why not? Why can’t you be mine alone? Don’t you want me?”

Ji Hongluan’s brows furrowed, her voice carrying a mix of anger and sadness.

“I’m sorry, Fairy Hongluan,” Xu Yang said, his tone steady.

“I’ll give you one more chance,” Ji Hongluan said coldly, her eyes glinting like frost.

Xu Yang shook his head.

“Even if you ask a thousand times, my answer won’t change.”

“Fine. You’ve made me angry now. I’ll make you pay!”

A chilling smile curved across Ji Hongluan’s lips as her face darkened ominously.

If her pet, Little Flower, had been present, it would have buried its head in its paws, muttering: Here we go again. My master is losing it!

“Whatever the price, I’ll bear it,” Xu Yang replied resolutely.

His calm response only fueled Ji Hongluan’s fury. Her hands moved swiftly, untying her sash as her dress slipped from her shoulders. She grabbed Xu Yang’s wrist, pinning him against the armrest of the chair.

Xu Yang tensed, attempting to resist, but before he could move, her lips silenced him.

“This,” she murmured in a low, venomous tone, her breath hot against his ear, “is the price for defying me.”

Xu Yang froze, his eyes wide with shock.

His thoughts spiraled, but words failed him as Ji Hongluan pressed herself against him, her actions relentless.

This, it seemed, was the cost of saying no to Ji Hongluan.
