Reborn in Konoha; I Think I’m Cultivating Immortality

Naigawa Seiryo arrived in front of Hui and Kage, his cold eyes filled with murderous intent. He glanced at Kage briefly before locking his gaze on Hui.

"I underestimated you. I didn't expect your shadow clone to deceive my senses," Seiryo said in a cold voice, though inwardly he was relieved. 

As long as Kage was unharmed, it was all that mattered.

"Seiryo, there's no need to pretend. Don't worry, I won't use Kage to threaten you," Hui responded, cutting through Seiryo's pretense.

Despite his apparent indifference, Seiryo's concern for Kage was clear to Hui, evident from his earlier glance. 

Seiryo's façade cracked momentarily as his pupils contracted before he regained his composure, his expression darkening.

"You seem to know a lot. How about joining me on the path of evolution?" Seiryo proposed. 

"Your body contains the same unique energy as our clan. Together, we can take the Human Body Evolution Technique to unprecedented heights.

"With my research and your potential, we could achieve unimaginable power, perhaps even become gods. 

"Why waste your life as a fleeting ninja? Come with me, and we'll transcend humanity together!"

Hui sneered. "I've been walking the path of evolution for far longer than you, and much farther. Do you think I'd fall for your empty promises?

"Seiryo, we've spoken enough. You've committed far too many heinous acts. Today, I will end your life."

Hui's tone turned icy as divine patterns emerged on his face, and his Celestial Eye opened, exuding overwhelming pressure.

Seiryo shook his head regretfully. "It seems we have nothing left to discuss."

Summoning natural energy within him, Seiryo prepared for battle.

"Kage…" Seiryo murmured. 

Before Kage could respond, a sudden wind rope coiled around her, pulling her to Seiryo's side.

Hui made no attempt to stop this, understanding Seiryo's intentions. 

He didn't want Hui to use Kage as leverage against him. Although Hui and said he wouldn't harm Kage, Seiryo naturally wouldn't trust him wit 'Weak-link'.

"You'll stay here for now. Once I deal with this boy, I'll address you," Seiryo said to Kage before stepping forward.

With a wave of his hand, wind blades materialized and shot toward Hui from all directions.

These were Seiryo's self-developed wind-based Senjutsu, powerful enough to require no hand seals.

Hui smirked and vanished from Kage's sight, leaving only a faint afterimage. Seiryo barely managed to catch a glimpse of Hui's movement, his face paling.

So fast! Seiryo thought, alarmed.

He quickly raised his hand, conjuring a violent gust of wind that swept toward Hui like a hurricane. 

The gale was so intense it tore through the ground, uprooting trees, and left no room for evasion.

This was a technique with power exceeding that of an A-rank jutsu, and an ordinary ninja would hard pressed to defend against it.

But Hui wasn't an ordinary ninjas.

Without slowing his pace, Hui charged through the storm, his body unscathed. He didn't even didfend his body with a jutsu.

Seiryo's eyes widened in disbelief as Hui closed the distance and swung a fist at him.

Unable to dodge, Seiryo raised his arm to block, intending to counter by absorbing Hui's energy.

However, Hui's fist transformed into a claw mid-strike, gripping Seiryo's arm.

Sealing Technique: Binding Seal.

Mysterious runes spread rapidly across Seiryo's body, sealing his movements and energy.

Seiryo struggled to break free, but it was too late. 

His body froze as the seal took hold, and even his Sage Chakra became unusable. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead as his face turned pale.

"How does it feel to be controlled, to be reduced to a mere marionette?" Hui released his grip, leaving Seiryo completely immobilized.

Hui's Binding Seal was a masterpiece, capable of sealing even Kage-level shinobi entirely. For someone like Seiryo, this fight was already over.

Seiryo had underestimated Hui, not expecting such an overwhelming technique from him.

Kage, watching from the sidelines, was dumbfounded. Her mouth hung open as she struggled to process how quickly the battle had ended.

"Wh-what… how…" she stammered, unable to form coherent sentences.

"I told you to leave it to me," Hui said confidently, flashing a faint smile.

"Say whatever you need to say to him. Once you're done, I'll end his life," Hui said, his calm words jolting Kage out of her stupor.

Her expression froze as conflicting emotions swirled in her eyes. 

Seeing this Hui shrugged, he wasn't worried Kage would untie the seal, if it was that easy, he would still be fighting Seiryo.

Of course if someone was as strong as Hui, they could gradually break it, and someone stronger then him could even break this in an instant. In the truest sense, it was a technique suitable for bullying people weaker then him.

After a brief pause, she approached Seiryo, her steps hesitant but resolute.

For a long time, Kage and Seiryo spoke. Hui wasn't interested in their conversation. He could guess its contents: Kage condemning Seiryo for his actions and Seiryo defending his descent into madness, blaming the loss of his wife and his desire to protect Kage.

Hui listened absently from afar, the conversation drifting to his ears despite the distance.

Finally, Kage returned to Hui, her eyes red and swollen from crying.

"We're done… Please, end it," she said, forcing a smile that didn't reach her eyes before retreating behind a tree.

Slumping against the trunk, she wept quietly.

She was unable to witness any further.

Hui approached Seiryo after glancing at tree.

"You were a talented man, but you strayed too far.

"Too many innocent lives were lost because of you. I can't forgive you on their behalf.

"So… go to the Pure Land and atone for your sins," Hui said, forming a hand seal as the runes in his eyes glowed.

His spirit surged into Seiryo's mind, diving into his memories.

As Hui suspected, Seiryo's research was remarkable, and the Human Body Evolution Technique had immense potential. Hui couldn't let such knowledge go to waste.

After a few moments, Hui withdrew from Seiryo's mind. He lightly tapped Seiryo's forehead, shattering his consciousness.

Seiryo was dead.

Hui stood over his lifeless body, his eyes gleaming.
