Chapter 91: Chapter 91
Originally, Toki had only planned to casually acquire a sample of a bloodline limit due to boredom.
Who would have thought that he'd end up bringing back two girls instead?
Standing at the gates of Konoha Village, Toki sighed deeply, a complex expression on his face.
"It wasn't because of my good looks, right? If I looked like Might Guy, I'd have to knock them both unconscious and drag them back by force," he muttered to himself.
"Lord Toki!"
Both rushed forward with excitement, practically bouncing on her feet.
"You're back!"
Toki gave her a lopsided grin.
"Let me guess. The ninjas are still licking their lips, trying to squeeze into the ninja school?"
Both blinked in confusion before nodding.
"Lord Toki is indeed insightful, but that's not what I wanted to report!"
"Oh?" Toki raised an eyebrow. "Then what?"
"Danzo and Orochimaru have rebelled, and the Sarutobi and Shimura clans have fled the village!"
"...What?" Toki froze, disbelief washing over his face.
"No, wait a second. I've been gone for less than a month, right?"
"Yes, it's been exactly 23 days…" they confirmed with a nod.
"Are you sure I haven't been gone for three years?" Toki's expression twisted into one of complete exasperation.
This wasn't part of the script. Nagato's early death was shocking enough, but now even Hiruzen Sarutobi had fled? The entire plot was off the rails.
He had been planning to emulate the anime by pressuring the village into isolating Hiruzen, forcing a coup by the Tobi clan, and staging a "righteous son" act by Sarutobi Asuma.
But now? It was chaos.
Toki had never intended to hold Orochimaru accountable. After all, the top scientist in the ninja world wasn't someone you forced away. Orochimaru's expertise in cloning and biotechnology was invaluable.
As for Danzo, Toki had been keeping tabs on him ever since learning about Kotoamatsukami. He wasn't worried about himself being manipulated, but his clan was another matter.
Given the mysterious nature of Mangekyō Sharingan abilities, he didn't want to risk Danzo becoming someone else's pawn. It was better to keep him as a research specimen.
Opening his clan diary, Toki flipped to the entry under Uchiha Setsuna:
[Uchiha Setsuna: It's a complete mess… (This clan member seems to attract trouble.)]
Before leaving, Toki had entrusted Uchiha Setsuna with overseeing their plans. By all accounts, everything had gone smoothly—until now.
"Why on earth did Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo, who have both devoted their lives to Konoha, decide to run?!" Toki muttered, frustration evident.
He sighed heavily and turned to Pakura, who was watching him curiously.
"What happened?" Pakura asked, her tone filled with concern.
"Our political enemies have fled the village," Toki replied wearily.
Pakura blinked. "Isn't that a good thing?"
Toki shook his head.
"You don't understand. Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo were key pieces in this chess game. Without them, the entire dynamic has shifted. Worse, it feels like the enemy is dictating the narrative now…"
Without wasting time, Toki returned to the Uchiha clan compound, only to find Setsuna and Yashiro embroiled in a heated debate.
"We have to fight! We can't let them steal Konoha's assets and walk away like cowards!" Setsuna argued fiercely.
"Calm down!" Yashiro retorted. "They've taken refuge with the Fire Daimyo and are protected by the Twelve Guardian Ninja. If we attack, other villages might use this as an excuse to invade Konoha! Our current strength isn't enough to fend off multiple enemies!"
"What are you afraid of?! We have scientific ninja tools, Pokémon, and tailed beasts! Worst case, I'll blind myself and awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan!"
Before things could escalate further, Toki entered the room with a sharp, authoritative aura.
"Enough!" he snapped, his voice silencing the room instantly.
Turning to face the gathered clan leaders, Toki's gaze was cold and piercing.
"Do you have any idea how many of our clan members will die if you insist on fighting a meaningless battle?"
The elders averted their eyes, guilt creeping into their expressions.
"Let me remind you," Toki continued, "that every Uchiha is a living, breathing person—a relative, not just a statistic. Your decisions affect their lives, and you have no right to gamble with them for personal vendettas."
His words struck a chord with the assembled leaders, especially Uchiha Setsuna, who looked visibly chastened.
Toki sighed, softening his tone slightly.
"We're in a stage of rapid development. The lives of our clan members are far more valuable than immediate revenge. Let's focus on growing stronger first. Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo won't escape forever."
After a moment of heavy silence, Setsuna bowed his head.
"You're right, Lord Toki. I was being reckless."
"Good," Toki said firmly. "Now, as for the blind date meeting I asked you to organize, why hasn't there been any progress?"
"Uh… about that…" Setsuna stammered awkwardly.
Uchiha Setsuna looked embarrassed and said, "Clan leader, 100 clan members have already been added. Excluding the elderly and children, one-seventh of the clan members are married, which is quite a lot. However, the clan members cannot adapt to the polygamy you suggested. Even if some agree, their wives do not."
Toki glared at Setsuna and said, "Useless fool! The Uchiha clan will be the royal family in the future. Look at those daimyos—they have three wives, four concubines, and seventy-two mistresses. What's wrong with marrying a few more wives?"
"If you want prosperity, you need people—marry wives, have children! The largest clan in Konoha, and we only have 1,800 people. What a joke!"
Setsuna couldn't understand why the clan leader was so obsessed with finding more wives for the clan. Embarrassed, he could only apologize repeatedly and promise to persuade the clan about the matter.
Satisfied, Toki prepared to head to the Bloodline Research and Development Center, muttering to himself. Before leaving, he added, "Make sure to find Asuma when I return. I'll have a good chat with him about the Will of Fire."
Pakura and Konan followed behind Toki, their eyes filled with admiration and complex emotions. They couldn't help but think that if their villages had a leader like Toki, so many tragedies could have been avoided.

System Notification:
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for resolving Uchiha Setsuna's internal conflict. Loyalty +1, cohesion +1.]
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for acquiring a subordinate with 100 loyalty and cohesion. Reward: Uchiha Setsuna's exclusive weapon, "Heaven and Earth Destroyer."]
---
"An exclusive weapon? Sounds impressive."
Toki's curiosity piqued as he accessed the system space and pulled out the so-called "Heaven and Earth Destroyer." To his surprise, two M16 rifles materialized in his hands.
Toki: "…"
Weapon Description:
Heaven and Earth Destroyer: The original artifact used by the Asgardian warrior Skorchi for impressing women. Converts the user's chakra into bullets, providing unlimited ammunition. (Exclusive to Uchiha Setsuna, with sharing permissions for the clan leader.)
Toki's face twitched. The image of a character from a certain movie sweeping enemies with unlimited ammo flashed through his mind. Was this really supposed to be some divine weapon?
While modern firearms had their appeal, they seemed laughably inferior to certain jutsus in the ninja world. For instance, the high-pressure Water Cutting Wave could slice through steel with ease—far more potent than an M16.
Still, as a man, Toki couldn't resist the allure of guns. Passing by the training grounds, he decided to test the weapon. The rhythmic recoil, the muzzle flashes, and the sound of bullets shredding through wooden targets gave him an unexpected thrill.
Seeing the destruction wrought on the training dummy, the Uchiha clan members training nearby couldn't help but murmur among themselves.
"What is that? A shuriken launcher?"
"No, no! It's one of Lord Toki's newly developed ninja tools!"
"Wow, this rate of fire and power is incredible! I want one too!"
"Don't worry; everyone's been equipped with scientific ninja tools recently. I'm sure we'll get this too!"
Toki glared at them. "Get back to training! This won't be distributed in the clan if you slack off!"
---
Returning to his quarters, Toki's thoughts turned to the state of Konoha and the future of the Uchiha clan. While the clan's numbers had grown, they were still a far cry from where he wanted them to be. Every member was a valuable resource—not just in battle, but also as contributors to his system.
With Sarutobi Hiruzen now under the daimyo's protection, Toki anticipated a political struggle in the near future. The daimyo's influence might curb Konoha's military spending, but Toki had no intention of letting the Uchiha clan be weakened. He would expand the clan's reach and influence across other ninja villages if necessary.
Toki glanced at the system panel, his eyes settling on the Ninjutsu R&D Center—an inactive novice building.
"System, activate the Ninjutsu R&D Center and upgrade it to Level 2."
