Red Alert 2 Mental Omega: Wargirls Reincarnation

Chapter 23: Helena the Villain - 23

Aqua's POV

Beep beep

Another morning... I stretch myself, letting out a soft sigh. "Ahh~" I blink my eyes and slowly sit up in bed. Yawn Still sleepy... I shake my head and stand up, stretching again before heading to the door. I step outside my room, ready to start the day.

Being a shipgirl does have its perks—no need for baths or other mundane hygiene routines. Not that I mind baths; I actually enjoy them. But thanks to nanoswarms, I can clean myself almost instantly.

As I walk toward the cafeteria, I pass a few T-Dolls stationed around the base. They salute me, and I nod in return. Oh right, I almost forgot—I created about 20 T-Dolls for this base. It does make the place feel more alive.

When I arrive at the cafeteria, I notice the layout has changed again. It's equipped with more booths and greenery in each section now. It feels cozy, actually. Behind the counter, I spot two T-Dolls. One is stirring a pot of soup that's boiling, filling the air with the aroma of spices and vegetables. Nearby, there are trays of omelets, sausages, and a rice cooker tucked in one corner.

Not that I have any complaints, but since the T-Dolls share my memories, the food mostly reflects my taste—rice-based meals with side dishes. At least there's bread, as I see another T-Doll bringing a fresh tray to the counter."Hello," I greet them. The first T-Doll looks up and smiles, while the second heads to the back, probably to prepare more food.

"Ahh, Commander! What would you like today?" she asks, still holding a ladle.

"Omelet, rice, some sausage, and a small bowl of soup," I reply, grabbing one of those trays you'd see in a food court. Sure, I could conjure one myself, but this feels more natural.

I glance around and realize something's missing. "We really need to figure out drinks, huh?" I mutter.

"Unfortunately, Commander," the T-Doll responds as she hands me a plate with rice and sausage covered by an omelet, along with a bowl of chicken soup. I place them carefully on my tray.

"Actually, how do we have vegetables so quickly? Didn't the vertical farm just get built a few days ago?" I ask, genuinely curious.

"We created the plants fully grown. It's a bit resource-intensive, but it's the only way until the first harvest rolls in," she explains.

I nod, taking my tray and heading out of the counter area. I scan the room, looking for Amy or Helena. They should be up before me.

I spot Amy sitting in one of the booths and walk over. "Is this seat free?" I ask automatically, a habit from my past life.

"Yes, Aqua-chan," Amy replies. I glance around but don't see Helena. Looking at Amy's plate, I notice she has a similar meal—more sausages, but no rice or soup.

"Where's Helena?" I ask.

"Oh, she got asked to help train the new Combat T-Dolls," Amy says between bites.

I blink. What? Why?

"Shouldn't the knowledge package handle training already?" I ask, still confused.

Amy just smiles. "Well, everyone's bored out of their minds, so they decided to hop into a 3 v 1 fight."

I stare at her. How does that even make sense? Did Helena come up with something outside her loadout? That's the only way she'd stand a chance against three Combat models.

"I'm assuming she's using the upgraded simulator?" I ask, eating quickly as Amy, already halfway through her meal, continues eating.

"Yep," she confirms.

I nod. Once I'm done eating, I'll definitely check out this match.

Helena's POV

"UAV~ UAV~" I hummed a tune as I launched more drones into the air. Having no resource constraints is such a blessing, I mean I do have resource cap but that amounts I won't reach easily! Especially after I conned those three Combat model newbies into fighting with no access to base resources.

Technically, I cheated. I don't know if they've watched the recording of my fight with Amy, but if they had, there's no way I'd have gotten a 10-minute head start.

I mean, I practically win by default with access to infinite resources so I cap myself at around $10,000 and they agree. That means I can spend up to $10,000 on top of the resources I already have on me with is around $5,000 (yes it is more expensive to filled these dolls then creating them). Honestly, that's more than enough to set up 500 remote-controlled weapon systems all over the area.

Which, obviously, I have. Too bad the three newbies chose the map—a villain base raid. So here I am inside a cave—classic secret lair vibes—with the entrance hidden behind a waterfall. The map? Mountain and forest. At least the simulator has improved its range to 5 km by 5 km, giving me plenty of space to play with.

Subterranean bases are the way to go. I'm not stupid enough to build anything above ground where UAVs can spot me. Still, I regret not having a support-model's building powers. Most of what I can make right now feels like a downgrade from what Master designed. Technically, it's still considered fleet of Fog tech thanks to the nanoswarms—Master based them on Fleet of Fog designs. Something about them reminds me of Ork-made buildings...

Wait, Ork? Where did that thought come from? Probably Master. I shake my head and refocus.

("The setup phase is complete. Special operations team will enter the area in 3...") The automated voice announces. I bet there's a crowd of T-Dolls watching the match. Hopefully, Master is watching too.

I mean, she wouldn't want to miss the fun, and this is going to be fun~

("2...") The countdown continues as I glance around my makeshift command room, filled with monitors, sensor arrays, UAV, UGV and turret status displays.

To be honest, the whole setup only cost me about $4,200. I've got more than half left to play with. Also, no, I didn't build 500 turrets—that would be silly. Instead, I invested in something else—like these little guys~

I run my hand over a UAV, preparing to equip it with another sniper rifle. I've already deployed 20 UGVs on the ground and 12 UAV in the air with lot of hidden cameras and remote control weapon. Officially, Master designed our 'Spec OP' loadouts in the form of RCXDs—off-road kamikaze UGVs armed with cameras and corrosive bomb packs.

I've hidden them all over the map. ("Special forces team has been deployed.") The comm announces, snapping me out of my thoughts.

Two camera feeds from hidden cameras go dark immediately. I just smirk and activate the UAV in my hand. "Southwest, huh?" I mutter.

Combat T-Doll's POV

Phew.

I shoot down another hidden camera "Too many eyes in the forest," I mutter as my sister 'U' leads ahead while 'Y' flanks the right side. We shoot out every hidden camera we spot.

"You think she didn't trap the whole map by now? Of course she knows! We're just clearing her sensors." U, the lead sister, snaps.

Suddenly, I hear an engine revving from the treeline. I spin around and fire my lasers.

Boom!

"Shit!" I jump back, narrowly avoiding the corrosive sphere that devours the tree and everything around it. My sisters also leap back in sync.

"Change of plans—we rush her position!" Y yells and charges ahead.

"We don't know where she is, idiot!" U shouts just as Y ducks down ahead of us. What? My instincts scream at me to move, and I hit the dirt as two laser shots miss my head. U takes cover behind a tree and countersnipes something.

I roll to another tree as another volley of lasers rains down.

"Monarch-3, Threat identified... rectifying," a monotone voice says. I look up and spot a UAV with an Uzi aimed right at me.Oh shit.

I will my nanoswarms to create a temporary shield just as it opens fire. The shield shatters within seconds, but I manage to put my rifle up and return fire.

My lasers narrowly miss as the UAV dodges, tilting its frame using its gyro stabilizers. Since when do these things have voice boxes? And it should be dead—my predictive firing algorithm said so. Why isn't it down?

Boom!

I hear an explosion from Y's direction, but there's no time to check. Another volley of lasers rains down as I dodge-roll, only to feel something catch my foot.

A tripwire connected to a corrosive grenade.

"Oh shit!" I activate my jump pack, blasting backward just in time.

Boom!

The grenade annihilates the tree it was attached to. Before I can breathe, I hear the whirring of another engine behind me—another kamikaze UGV. I spin and fire lasers at it.

Huh? No bomb? The UGV explodes, but something feels off. Before I can process it, another volley of lasers rains down, forcing me behind cover.

Another volley from above. I dash to the right with my jump pack, thankful it's recharged.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Three more explosions echo in the distance. Probably one of my sisters. I switch to dual Uzis. My assault rifle isn't providing enough saturation fire to take out these UAVs.

I scan the treeline. No movement. No more lasers? What is she planning now?

("Spec OP 'U' has been eliminated.") The comm echoes in my ear.

"Ahh, shit," I mutter. I create another shield on my arm. It won't last more than a second, but it already saved me once. Having it ready is better than not.

"I kinda want a shotgun now," I mumble, shaking my head. Sure, I could experiment by scrapping the assault rifle's laser core and slapping scatter lenses on its barrel, but now's not the time.

("Y, you still there?") I said trying connected to 'Y'.. Static.

"Monarch-4, target found," another monotone voice declares. This time, drones with strange spires at their base hover into view.

I bring up my Uzis and unleash a volley, but none of the lasers hit. Wait, what? They're just floating there, yet my shots keep missing.

A new volley of lasers rains down from my left. I duck and slide to the right, using my frictionless nanoswarm trick.

I need to shake them off. Another volley comes at me—enough! I jump pack upward and deploy my decoy, splitting directions. The decoy heads right while I veer left. The lasers lock onto the decoy, forcing it to dodge.

More lasers! Sniper! I jump pack to the side, narrowly avoiding a shot from a perched on the mountain.

I've been on the back foot this entire time. It's time for something unexpected.

Helena's POV

Hmm, hmm. I hum a tune as I remotely control 22 devices simultaneously.

After my last fight with Amy, I had been sulking, so I developed better security methods. In the process, I discovered something interesting. Apparently, T-Dolls use a predictive targeting algorithm derived from Aqua's Fleet of Fog attack system.

The algorithm feeds on live data, constantly adapting to threats. At first, it records flight patterns, adjusting weapons to predict UAV movements.

That's just the start. It can also adapt to projectiles, lasers, missiles, and other enemy attacks thus allows the Algorithm to pick most optimal weapons to counter said threats. But T-Dolls lack the computational power to process more than ten simultaneous threats.

That's where I made a tweak.

I giggle wildly. By scattering nanoswarms in the air, I overloaded their targeting systems, tricking them into locking onto the swarms instead of actual UAVs.

Although, to be fair, this is the first time I've tested it. There's obviously a bug I need to fix before Master notices and fixes it herself. I really want to do it myself. Might need to talk to her later.

Y seems to be having a blast. I glance at the hologram map glowing in the center of my secret lair.

She's split from M, about 2 kilometers away, but she's holding her ground with an assault rifle and hoverboard UAV. Neat trick—she rigged four UAVs together to lift her. Pretty clever, using the weightless nanoswarm trick.

I'll give her credit for that one. Meanwhile, I've got four UAVs armed with Uzis attacking her, plus one ECCM UAV to scramble her targeting system.

I mean, Master will probably design some kind of analog control after this. It technically already exists since we can aim manually, but the attack algorithm is baked into all her creations. It's subtle—automatic corrections and micro-adjustments.

Anyway, M used a corrosive bomb to dig underground. Copying my old tactic from when I fought Amy, huh?

I sense nanoswarms trying to track my signal origin.

I laugh. One Amy was enough; I don't need someone else trying to hack me. I shut the tracking down immediately, wiping out the foreign nanoswarms swarming my drones.

Time to let the UGV do its job. I activate a nearby kamikaze UGV, driving it straight into the tunnel M dug.

Boom.

Laser fire erupts—M has line of sight to the tunnel entrance. She's heading north toward the mountain. My mountain?

I prepare another UGV to intercept her, but then—

"Huh?" I mutter as M bursts from the ground on a bike, guns blazing.

Lasers spray in all directions, shooting at the UAVs left and right, auto dodging mean that none got shot down. How is she firing while riding?

I zoom in. Her bike has four Uzis strapped to the front, sides, and back—turret mounts. Clever.

So she's countering the targeting problem with saturation fire. Not a bad idea, but did she forget about snipers?

I order three remote-controlled snipers positioned on the mountain to fire from different angles.

Her bike swerves sharply to the right, climbing a tree before boosting off and landing far ahead.

"Jump packs on the bike? Spiked wheels? Plus nanoswarm weightless tricks?" I mutter, genuinely impressed.

I send two of my special UAVs to fly parallel to her bike, destabilizing both her and the bike's targeting system. At the same time, I order all remote weapons along her path to fire.

Meanwhile, Y is still in a dogfight. The snipers have locked onto her pattern. No matter how complex her movements, there's always a pattern, and I've figured hers out. I order two snipers to fire.

She blocks one shot with a hastily created barrier, but the second shreds her hoverboard. Her resources must be down to around $200—barely enough for a jump pack and a couple of Uzis.

I order four UAVs to finish her off.

Desperate, she pulls a corrosive bomb and hurls it. "Die in hell!" Her voice crackles through the UAV audio before she detonates herself along with my four UAVs.

Wait—didn't Master say no kills? I mean, she sacrificed herself.

I shrug, not that she died though as T-Doll are hard to kill.

M's POV

("Spec OP 'Y' has been eliminated,") the automated voice announced.

Oh shit. I jerked my bike hard to the right using modify jump pack to assist in strafing, narrowly dodging another volley of laser fire from the UAVs. The bike's turrets kept firing wildly into the air, saturating the area with beams. No precision, just brute force. Something had to hit eventually.

I still had no idea how Helena hacked the targeting systems, but there was no time to figure it out. All I could do was rely on sheer volume of fire and pray.

Two of those weird UAVs—the ones I suspected were jamming my targeting—flew in parallel with me, matching my speed as I raced toward the mountain.

I gritted my teeth and willed my nanoswarms to craft a corrosive grenade. With a flick of my wrist, I hurled it in the general direction of one of the UAVs, my bike's turrets covering the throw with continuous laser fire.

Boom!

One of them exploded—or at least got shredded enough to fall from the sky. That was good enough for me.

"Yes!" I shouted, but my celebration was cut short as another burst of lasers rained down. I raised my shielded arm and steered left, narrowly avoiding a direct hit.

My shield disintegrated almost instantly. As expected. I willed another one into existence, already knowing it wouldn't last long. I crafted another corrosive bomb and lobbed it high into the air—only for a laser firing from the mountain to detonate it mid-flight.

Boom!

"Shit!" I yelled as the corrosive blast expanded outward. I barely managed to angle my shield in time to block the worst of it, but my bike wasn't so lucky.

The rear tire was gone. Half the engine? Eaten. And the reactor—

Wait. Reactor?!

Oh no. Mini Nuclear fusion. That meant—

I slammed the jump pack controls, launching myself off the bike and away from the wreckage.

Boom!

The explosion knocked me flat. Shrapnel tore through the trees, taking out a few UAVs in the process. Rocks and branches rained down around me.

Groaning, I pushed myself up, my arms shaking. I grabbed my Uzi, only to freeze.

Right in front of me was a Kamikaze UGV.

Its in front of my face, humming as it prepared to detonate.

I sighed and raised my hands. "I surrender."

The automated voice responded instantly.

("Spec OP 'M' has been eliminated.")

Then, a louder announcement followed.

("Villainess 'Helena'—Victorious.")

I let out a heavy breath and slumped back against the dirt, closing my eyes.

as the simulator slowly return back to normal pure white stage
