Redemption Of The Yandere Villain

Chapter 2: Feelings

When Vincent left, Eugene decided to read history books.

He's been living in different worlds and has already forgotten many things from this world, especially tradition. He's a little off speaking formally when he's used to talking informally with others while living in those damn worlds.

Wanting to focus on learning, he stopped when he remembered something.

A war between Yuinshel Empire and Biscotti Kingdom.

"30th day of Imperial Calendar, the month of Lunar."

The Grand Duke Karsten would lead his army on the front line assisting the empire's four knights. One family member in every noble house should participate in a war and his elder brother was sent there only to come back severely injured.

He knew that the Biscotti Kingdom would be defeated and Grand Duke Karsten's son is the one would who would take the king's head which lead to their victory.

But remembering the state of his elder brother makes him sad so if he could, he would try to replace his brother in the future.

"Another thing to remember is..."

Eugene tightens his grip on his quill when he remembers the most important event that he should not trigger.

Grand Duke Karsten's son ― Kaizer Restall De la Vallier Karsten would also fall in love with the same woman whom he and his little brother fancied.

That would also lead him to stand on the edge because he always bullies the woman he loves just so she could notice him.

Kaizer who didn't put him to his eyes suddenly hates his existence causing him to be put in trouble like being kidnap or injured.

No matter how high is his status, killing a noble is a heavy crime especially if they have a clean name in society. But as the Grand Duke's son, he could cover up his murder but didn't choose to do that.

Eugene suffered but someone who's crazy as Kaizer won't give up on something like that.

He still chase the woman he admired.

Eugene did mean things, framing her and covering it up as saving her. There's a time he kidnaps the girl and threatens to kill her if she won't look at him.

But the weirdest thing is his death.

He doesn't know who kills him but Kaizer is the only person suitable for eliminating a lunatic man like him. But he didn't feel the same terrifying, heavy, and dark aura that Kaizer bring to that murderer, only a deep hatred bored within those pair of gleaming Iolite eyes.

That's weird.

He was killed inside his bed chamber.

By the man with a pair of Iolite eyes that he believes he didn't encounter.

He gasps when he felt a sudden pain in his chest. His heart is throbbing too fast which reminds him of the same feeling of being killed by his childhood friend back on earth. The picture of the same expression but a different silhouette of a certain man makes him tremble in fear.

"Iolite blue eyes...Cordierite gray."

Holding his own breath, he put down the quill and blocks his eyes using his arms as he slumps on the chair.

He also doesn't know why his childhood friend kill him but when he remembers those pair of eyes, something couldn't be seen ― so deep that he couldn't tell what is it.

The man who always protect him, pampered him, and cared for him is the same person who would end his life but the question is why? He didn't do anything to upset him and even avoid displeasing him.

Just why would he kill him?

It's mysterious.

Eugene was lost in deep thought.

Earth is his tenth world and his life there just like any other world is not too great, but at least he manages to go through it without killing himself, getting in an accident, or getting killed by some random people before he could even adjust his state.

The body he possesses is an abused orphan.

He manage to last long because he found a friend who would protect him and that person and he started to spend life doing things together.

The irony is that his friend has the same name as his enemy.

Kaizer.

Born rich but abducted, when Kaizer was found by his wealthy parents he goes back with him. It's good, especially when Kaizers parents learned about their harsh living in the orphanage. They hired someone to investigate and send the dean to prison with dead ends.

Kaizer's parents treated him like their own son and he is somewhat hopeful, uncomfortable, and fearful.

He is hopeful that he experience what it's like to have a good family.

He is uncomfortable because he took a young master role even without a blood relationship.

And he feared thinking that everything would soon change.

That it's just a matter of time.

And he's right, because the person he trusted and love the most, betrayed him. His adoptive parents are slowly alienating him confirming his doubts. He is sad and wanted to leave before he was chased away but Kaizer prevented him from stepping out of the mansion. That is also when he realizes that while his adopted parents are becoming estranged, Kaizer is also changing and started to become paranoid.

His every move was monitored and even his room is equipped with cameras.

He is like a criminal.

And his crime? He doesn't know.

He didn't bother to refute Kaizer's every single word and obeyed him without complaints and questions. It's all good because Kaizer started to calm down and loosen his restrictions.

His relationship with Kaizer turns back the way it is, however, his adoptive parents completely ignored him but at least they never scold him or drive him away.

He keep hoping until he turned adult and died.

"Why?"

It's time for him to question everything before he loses his breath.

But what he got is a peal of loud maniacal laughter, along with those deep gray cordierite beautiful eyes that are full of obscure mixed emotions blocked by tears.

"I'm sorry," he said between laughter and cries, "And I'm happy, finally...I finally--"

"Got you."

Full of dizziness, he didn't manage to hear his friend's last word as he completely lose his senses. What he felt for the last time is Kaizer, pulling his clothes and the rest is unknown.

——Many have said that what you did to others is what others will do to you.

That quotation is probably right.

Now after experiencing the karma for his past life sin, he couldn't think of doing something cruel but that doesn't mean he turn into a good person.

What he wanted is death.

No matter how he experiences good things, it won't change the fact that he seeks death more than any suicidal person does. Nonetheless, he doesn't invalidate someone's tolerance of life.

Closing the history book in his hand.

He walk to the balcony and stood still, watching the azure skies.

Atonement.

He has spent thousands of years being trapped in different worlds to experience a harsh life.

What's still needed?

Everything is uncertain and the path he's walking is getting further and further.

It's exhausting.

Staring blankly at nowhere, he lowered his head and wiped the tears on his cheeks.

He's so tired that even a simple sleep won't work. The worst is even in his sleep his past still hunts him putting him in the same nightmare all over, again and again.

I'm really so sorry.

He always apologizes even after knowing that he couldn't be forgiven because the people who should forgive him had no memories of the past unlike him.

And even if they do. Apologizing is of no use.

"Young master Eugene, your meal is ready."

Calming himself down, he stepped back inside and glanced at the door, saying, "Come in."

It's Vincent, pushing a food trolley.

The usual delicacies are gone and were replaced by a simple meal.

He could sense Vincent peeking, probably thinking if he would overthrow the table again for not meeting the food standard of what would be served to a noble.

"After putting the meal you can go."

Sadly, he's not that ignorant young master anymore.

He would have an attitude but not to the point he will make himself stupid and easy to manipulate type of person.

Eugene turns himself into a good person because he thought that once he atones for his past life sins then he could be saved, but no. In every cycle of life and death, there is no redemption. That no matter how much he hopes, there is only endless torment waiting for him.

"Then young master, if you need something you can call me. I'll wait outside."

Vincent bowed his head and walked away.

There's confusion written all over his face but the fact that he doesn't understand what makes him feel like there's a difference is something that bothered him the most.

——Eugene Aimer Shradinza.

The second young master of the Shradinza household is known for his bad attitude and ungrateful actions.

Everyone is aware that the second son of Marquis Shradinza is the black sheep of the family, the only unfavored child, that's how they view it. Who could blame their thoughts? Marquis Shradinza never mentions his second son to others and only shows concern for the third son who is born weak and ill.

An outcast.

Disgrace.

Good for nothing.

The child of others.

That's what Eugene hears every time he would attend a banquet and it drives him crazy knowing that his family never cares. He even goes far...to the point, he overthinks if he is really a child of his father and mother at such a young age.

Without explanation, without comfort.

He slowly grew distant from his family and started to hate his little brother who got the attention and care of everyone.

He is envious.

Lowering his gaze Eugene tighten his grip on the spoon.

His stomach hurts whenever he thinks of the past, after all, he was served a much worst meal when he was abandoned and lived alone without an attendant.

Now, seeing his current meal made him think how fortunate he is right now.

There are no more 'Ifs' and 'daydreams' of going back in time because now that he went back... he doesn't even know how to start anew.

He's tired of playing a good person in those worlds.

Because in the end, no matter how many good deeds he does, there's no such thing as saving grace, so why be a hypocrite? He hated it...the fact that he don't even know himself. What he wanted to do, his dreams, or even his desires.

He's so empty.

Is this life even worth it?

Eugene took a bite of his food and frowned before putting down his cutlery.

He feels like vomiting.

Wanting to get rid of an unpleasant feeling.

He really couldn't bear eating warm food. His stomach would always reject everything that is warm and the pain is always unbearable. Now that he tried to sip a hot soup, he immediately feels uncomfortable.

Being unable to bear it, Eugene called Vincent.

"I want something cold, leftovers are good. Bring it to me with ice water."

Vincent is hesitant.

His young master who hated being served a cold meal is now asking for one? and even consider eating leftovers?

"T-This, young master, cold food is bad for your stomach."

"I don't care. I want something cold."

Eugene stares at Vincent while firmly dropping his words

He doesn't want to argue with Vincent. and as much as he can he wanted to avoid raising his voice to anyone. That's what he should do if he wanted to live a quiet life.

"Then I will get a cold soup instead."

There's no need to ask for leftovers because if the Marquis found out, it would be like he was abusing the young master of the proud household of Shradinza.

Reluctantly putting the food in the trolley...Vincent hurriedly went out to get his young master's food. It's nothing new to him and the people in the kitchen, they thought that the problematic and annoying young master probably wanted to get the Maquis' attention again.

Coming back into the room.

Vincent put the cold soup and water on the table.

His lips twitched, watching his young master eat in silence...ignoring him.

His young master is really weird today.

There are no usual tantrums and throwing things. Nothing much as they expected so when the Marquis called him in the afternoon to make a report, he told them what happen for the rest of the day.

Vincent only said what he observed.

Not only Simon and the Marquis, but everyone in the mansion feels strange.
