Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Enhanced senses
Noticing the changes in my senses, I was shocked. How had I not noticed them before? I could smell much more accurately, see with a clarity I hadn't known before, and could even sense wind direction and temperature in a completely superhuman way. Wow, this was incredible. Are there only advantages to being a demi-human?
With all this on my mind, tiredness quickly overcame me. I felt exhausted, so I decided to sleep. Tomorrow I would explore further.
When I woke up, the first thing I did was eat some grass to fill me up. But as I chewed it, I realized something curious. Why am I not thirsty? I hadn't felt the need to drink water at any point. Maybe eating grass had hydrated me, or perhaps there was something else happening in this demi-human body that I didn't quite understand.
I decided to continue exploring, but this time I was more cautious. I didn't venture too far into the forest, just observing what I could. I noticed something interesting: there were many plants I didn't recognize and also animals I'd never seen before. This confirmed it. I was in a whole new world. An isekai? Maybe. I couldn't tell for sure, but everything around me seemed to say yes.
As I explored, I realized I had more strength and speed than I had ever imagined. Is this part of being a demi-human? I could lift much more weight than I could before and run faster. If I, a mere demi-human, can do this, what about the animals in the forest? Surely there are predators or large herbivores. That got me thinking. Would I be able to take them on if it came to that?
Therefore, I decided to do what humans do best: create tools. I had to prepare something, something that would help me survive in this new world. I looked around, searching for materials I could use. What could I make with whatever I had at hand? That was what I needed to figure out.
