Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 325: Section B

After getting dragged by Carmen, whose attributes had reached level 30, Xu Feng could only smile bitterly at his helplessness.

It would have been fine if he wasn't caught in the beginning, but now that he was, Carmen's grasp on his arm was truly difficult to fling off.

In fact, every time he wanted to loosen the grip, she would tighten it, nearly squeezing all his muscles like some wet towel needed to be dry.

"There's no need to be in such a rush, Carmen." Xu Feng said with much difficulty. "The competition might start, but it would give at least 20 minutes for all contestants to be on the stage."

"Even so, I bet those 20 minutes are given to allow those early contestants to be prepared and set up their equipment," Carmen argued back, hastening her pace in the meantime.

'How did she know?' He cried inwardly in disbelief. Originally, he said that to have their pace slow down, but it backfired tremendously.

Finally, after 10 minutes of running, Carmen finally released her grip once she saw the Paradise Plains' gate.

Upon their arrival at the gate entrance, the guards noticed Xu Feng's pale complexion.

"Do you need any medical assistance, contestant?" One of the guards asked in concern, having noticed the participation slot in his hand.

"No need, I'm fine," Xu Feng replied lightly.

Meanwhile, the main culprit of his current distressed state, Carmen, turned to the guard and inquired, "Did the competition start already?"

"The competition?" The guard thought for a moment before responding, "Ah, there were some delays earlier so contestants were still lining up until recently."

Xu Feng didn't know if that was a blessing or a disaster in disguise. There was still more time aside from the additional 20 minutes given to all contestants.

"You really are something, Carmen." Xu Feng knitted his brows and gazed at Carmen.

Carmen shrugged in response. "You are very welcome, Guild Leader. I made sure you were on time and not like me who voluntarily resigned her job because of assisting someone in a mission and ended up in some time difference environment."

As she brought back this topic, Xu Feng's words that were about to be said were ultimately swallowed back inside.

All he could do was shake his head and lament his actions. Great, as a petty man, he now influenced Carmen to become petty like him.

To think she would bring back an old incident to corner him this time.

Sometime later, the duo entered the large building that was originally restricted. The lines to the building were massive and stretched very far.

"Do we have to line up there, Guild Leader?" Carmen's mouth was agape as she glanced at the long line. "I can't even see where the end of the line is."

"Those people lining up are from other cities who came to spectate." Xu Feng explained.

"Don't underestimate them though. Any one of them is stronger than Razor and Brutus." He added, warning Carmen in the meantime. Those who were eligible to come to Paradise Plains and be a spectator were all NPCs with a huge background and power.

After all, this competition was not only a chance for the Professionists, but it was also a chance for the NPC forces to recruit those with huge potential.

Thus, every time there was a competition being held, Paradise Plains would be raking in tons of money from participation slots and spectator fees alone.

Even Xu Feng was envious of the city's earning power.

"Anyway, let's go." He said, ignoring the sea of people in the line.

"Eh, I don't have to line up?" Carmen raised an eyebrow. She knew Xu Feng was a contestant, but she wasn't, so she thought she had to line up in the back.

"Contestants are allowed to vouch for one person when entering." Xu Feng smiled amusingly at her naivety. Although most contestants are lone wolves, there were still occasions where contestants brought one person in with them for early seating.

The only problem?

One must pay a fee for the "vouch".

After walking to the contestant's designated line, Xu Feng handed in his participation slot.

"She's my companion and here to cheer me up." He explained.

"That'll be 30 silver coins." The guards responded coolly, almost as if they were used to this kind of situation.

Meanwhile, Carmen was dumbfounded by the fee price. 30 silver coins were indeed nothing much to Xu Feng, but when compared to her, that was a lot.

Nevertheless, Xu Feng paid the fee without hesitation. Contrary to Carmen's mind, Xu Feng found the fee quite reasonable and even a bargain, to be honest.

Time was invaluable, and to pay 30 silver coins to skip the lining process which could take more than an hour, was a win.

"Guild Leader, aren't you spending a bit too much?" Carmen asked nervously. Since it was decided she would become a real member, then that meant she would be exposed to the financial situation of the Vanguard Guild soon.

She couldn't fathom how much they were losing daily if Xu Feng continued to spend so much.

"I know you're concerned, but for now, just relax yourself and find a comfortable seat by the audience area." Xu Feng chuckled softly. "I'll need to head to the contestant zone now and get prepared."

With that said, Xu Feng proceeded to head toward the contestant zone without waiting for her response.

Upon entering the zone, one of the employees went to him and asked, "Hello, which Profession are you undergoing?"

"I'm here to register for the blacksmith." Xu Feng responded to the employee.

"Blacksmith competition is located in section B room 3. Here's your tag and good luck." The employee responded and gave him a number tag. Afterward, the employee went on to another newly entered contestant, asking the same question.

As for Xu Feng, he calmly proceeded to Section B. While walking there, he continued to scrutinize the NPC.

'Huh, why is there a player here?' Astonished, Xu Feng's eyes widened in shock when he scanned a player among the contestants.
