Reverend insanity: Heaven devouring demon venerable

In Heavenly Court Blessed Land.

Fairy Zi Wei was sitting in a floating chair, sipping on some high quality tea that helped her with her deductions.

From afar, the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord was observing her.

'Spirit Affinity House's genius, she does live up to her fame.'

The Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord was an old man who held a walking stick, his hair white, and wrinkles covered his body like an old tree's bark. 

Looking at Fairy Zi Wei with eyes that were blurry with a cloudy gaze.

Unknown to her, the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord was planning on making her his successor, she's a talented Wisdom path immortal after all, one that he could trust.

'But before I can let her take over, I must continue fixing Fate Gu.'

Fate Gu was a rank 9 Gu and the Core of the Immortal Gu house: Heaven Overseeing Tower.

The Gu was the one responsible for deciding the path that everything in this world would follow, but after it was damaged by Red Lotus Demon Venerable, its effect weakened greatly, wish resulted in many things that didn't exist before to appear, like zombies and revival methods.

Heavenly Court has tasked the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord of every generation with fixing Fate Gu, and in the current Era, Fate Gu has recovered 30% of its strength.

'But today, Fate Gu will recover 50 percent of its strength!' Through the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord, happiness flowing through his soul.

There are two ways to heal Fate Gu, either use the standard way, refining the Gu with materials filled with Heaven's Will with the help of success path Dao marks they get every refinement convention, or by killing defying entities like Zombies and Fate Escapees.

The latter was easier to do, but it was not easy for Heavenly Court to do so outside of the central continent, mainly because of the Regional Walls that separated each continent.

However, the Lord had a way.

Inside Heavenly Court, there was an Immoral Graveyard where countless Immortals slumber, they woke up in times of need, helping the Organization in any way they could.

Those Immortals are the pride of the Heavenly Court and one of the reasons for them being the number one organization in the world.

However, there is something that only the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord of each generation knows about.

Deep within the Immortal Graveyard lie five extraordinary, fate defying entities, placed by each of the Immortal Kings of the Heavenly Court in the Immortal Graveyard: The Dao Regents.

Among them, two were left behind by Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable, another two by Star Constellation Immortal Venerable, and the last by Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable.

If the Heavenly Court ever faces great danger, they will wake up from their slumber, aiding the Heavenly Court.

The Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord now finds their help unnecessary, seeing that healing Fate Gu is better than whatever help they might give, after all, the Immortal Graveyard is filled with countless other Immortals, with some of them even stronger than the Dao Regents.

Except for one of the Dao Regents, the one left by Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable.

'The Uncrowned Demon Venerable..' The Tower Lord kept thinking about the title that the world had given to that monster.

The Uncrowned Demon Venerable was a fearsome demonic cultivator who roamed the five regions, stealing and plundering at will, with no one able to catch him.

The moment he appears, every valuable thing around him will disappear with him, leaving only a flicker of lightning behind him.

Not only was his cunningness unparalleled in his time, but he also possessed a terrifying talent for lighting paths, so much that he could be said to be a venerable level talent.

He wasn't widely known at first, since he did things extremely quickly.

One day however, after failing his ascension to rank 9, he searched for the rank 8 Genesis Lotus that was accompanied by his Dao Guardian, killing the latter and chasing Genesis Lotus for five months, forcing the Venerable into ascending to rank 9 to match him in power.

After a three day long fight, the Venerable finally gained the advantage, piercing the demon's head and driving him away.

Heavenly Court paid a heavy price to suppress this event from the public, but some people still know this fact to this day.

After that incident, Genesis Lotus roamed the world searching for the demon, which took longer than expected.

That's because the demon hid inside the door of life and death, and when Genesis Lotus finally arrived there, he was trapped inside the Secluded Domain of Heaven and Earth: Reverse Flow river, restricting the Venerable from using any of his Gu.

Unexpectedly, Genesis Lotus conquered the river, refining the rank 9 Perseverance Gu and becoming the first Reverse Flow river lord in history.

Heavenly Court spends a lot of effort once again to change the narrative, removing the demon entirely from the picture.

'Lord Genesis Lotus, even after all of what happened, you still did what you did.' Thought the Tower Lord while walking down a path that only he knows about on the north of the Grotto Heaven.

'Instead of killing the demon, you took him under your wing, teaching someone like him what righteousness is.' The Tower Lord understood what Genesis Lotus was trying to do, despite how evil the demon was, he was still a great talent, someone who if not for Fate Gu, would have already become a venerable.

'Today, however, you will die!'

The Tower Lord reached a place that would seem unimportant compared to the rest of the Grotto Heaven, but with a single thought from him, he activated a Gu, opening an underground staircase.

Walking down the staircase, the Tower Lord could see that the place was still clean to this day, despite the last time it was used being three hundred thousand years ago.

It didn't take long for him to find himself inside a dimly lit room, with ancient scriptures on the wall.

There were five tables on each side, with a box on each one of them.

On the roof, there were five keyholes of different shapes.

The Tower lord walked to the closest one to his right, opening the box inside it.

There he found a star-shaped key, he held it in his hand, feeding it multiple of his White Litchi Immortal Essence.

The key in return flew to the roof like a magnet, entering its respective keyhole.

The Tower Lord did the same to three other boxes, with one of them looking exactly like the first, and with the other two being transparent, made entirely out of cloud key.

Each one of them flew to the roof, leaving only a keyhole.

'Ahh, with the next refinement convention soon, we will be able to refine Fate Gu back to full health in no time!'

He opened the last box, already imagining the glory that his Heavenly Court would achieve.

But sadly for him, life had other plans.

The moment he opened the box, his skin turned white, looking like an extremely sick person.

Shivers went down his spine, feeling as if the world was upside down.

The key which was supposed to look like an old wooden key, was nowhere to be seen.

This could only mean two things: one, the key was stolen, which is impossible to happen since no one else knows about this place, and the key would serve no purpose for someone else.

Or two, the Dao Regent of this respect key is waking up!

This key was the only one that didn't have a duplicate, meaning it was left by Genesis Lotus who left behind only one Dao Regent.

If the Tower Lord doesn't insert every single key, he wouldn't be able to get rid of the Dao Regents.

To make it even worse, the Dao Regent he was scared of the most was waking up.

'There is no time to waste!' He screamed internally, completely distraught.

But as a wisdom path specialist, he quickly composed himself, sending a message to every Heavenly Court Immortal that he thought might help.

'Everyone! Go to the deepest part of the Immortal Graveyard immediately!'

The message sadly only reached two Heavenly Court Immortals who could help him in any way.

After sending that message, he activated a movement killer move, not caring about the essence expender.

Immortal Killer Move-As fast as thoughts 

When activated, the user will have distorted thoughts that move quickly, but in return the user will be extremely fast, being at the top level of rank 8.

This killer move had some rule path profundity, showing his ability to mimic other paths with his wisdom path attainment alone.

The Tower lord flew in the air, passing by multiple Grotto Heavens until he reached the Immortal Graveyard, where he slowed down when he was close to the destination, organizing his thoughts again.

When he was there, he already found Fairy Zi Wei there, who arrived first since she was the closest to the Graveyard at the time of his call.

She was looking down, unsure of what to do, since she had never seen something like this before.

What she was seeing was a lump of electricity flickering on the ground, it may seem like the lighting is moving randomly to most people, but it isn't.

"It's like.." Fairy Zi Wei spoke, hoping that the Tower Lord had some kind of explanation.

And he did.

"The lightning is imprinting Lightning path Dao marks on the ground, setting up a formation."

Fairy couldn't believe it, setting up a formation is hard enough, but controlling Dao marks so freely and setting up a formation using them? That's something only a venerable could do!

At that moment, another Heavenly Court Immortal appeared.

He had a thick black beard with messy hair, looking like a beggar, but he was a Dark Path Immortal and an ancestor of Ancient Soul Sect, one that helped greatly in the capture of Ning Zu's split souls.

Of course, they could only trap their bodies since all their souls were lost or destroyed.

"Hei Yang! Quickly use your compound killer move, I will help you." The Tower Lord commanded, walking behind the dark path of Immortal and putting his hands on his back.

Hei Yang didn't hesitate, quickly activating his killer move.

In his hands; multiple black vortexes started appearing, merging like water droplets into one big black ball that seemed to hold endless despair.

Activating this killer move was extremely demanding, if Hei Yang doesn't know when to merge a black vortex with another, everything will explode on him.

That's why the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord was helping him, giving him enough thought to control each black vortex with the utmost care as fast as possible.

The lightning on the ground though was only getting stronger, forming a formation that Fairy Zi Wei deduced would be catastrophic to the slumbering Immortals around them.

She wasn't just sitting there though, she was deducing how to stop this formation, but she had no progress.

Hei Yang started bleeding from his ears at that moment, as he was barely containing the black matter in his hands.

The Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord removed his hand at that moment, getting far away from the Dark Path Immortal.

"Don't sting on the expenditure! I will make sure you're paid back handsomely." Screamed the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord.

Hei Yang and Fairy Zi Wei were confused cause the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord's Words made no sense.

The Dark Path Immortal is ready to pay any price for his Heavenly Court without compensation, he never asked for something like that since joining the Heavenly Court.

This shows how much the Tower Lord is scared of what will happen if the demon wakes up.

Hei Yang understood the complexity of the situation, so he decided to use his Dao marks to further strengthen the killer's move.

Wind started blowing away anything close to the Immortal, as the Dark Ball became even more deadly than it used to be.

With a final push, the Immortal throws the Ball at the ground, ready to erase anything in its way.

Compound Killer Move-Dead Abyss!

Despite spending more than half of his Dark Path Dao marks on the move, Hei Yang is still very content with himself.

What he didn't know was that what he did was going to cost him his life.

A lightning bolt shot out of the ground, hitting the killer move and sending it back to Hei Yang with an even greater speed than before.

Before anyone could do anything, the Immortal was swallowed by his attack, making himself enveloped in a dark vortex that destroyed his body.

Inside the vortex, he screamed and screamed, but nothing could be heard, as he disintegrated into nothingness with his attack.

The Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord seeing this is engulfed in an enormous amount of regret, if he hadn't encouraged him to use everything he has, the Dark Path Immortal would have been able to survive the attack, albeit with being on death's door but at least in a curable state.

Time waits for no man though.

The lightning setting the formation disappeared, activating the formation.

In a hundred radius, every single slumbering Immortal was instantly killed, their life force being used to full something that was never supposed to wake up again.

At that instance, the entire Heavenly Court trembled violently, causing chaos to ripple even through White Heaven.

Multiple beasts died at that moment, with some Gu houses in Heavenly Court sustaining a lot of damage from the whole land shaking.

A casket then shot out of the ground, it looked like any other cheap casket but had a Green Lotus Mark on it.

It slowly opened, showing a tall figure inside it.

The tall figure stretched a little, before breaking the casket in a roar, signaling the end of the earthquakes.

The figure was a man standing at three meters tall, with long blond spiky hair that was taller than him, his facial features were extremely sharp, with his eyes having a radiant gold iris that seemed to hold the wisdom of the world, but the most noticeable thing about him was a large scar on his forehead, giving the impression that he survived a sword to the head.

He had very broad shoulders, with muscles that could mistake him for a strength path cultivator.

The only things that he was wearing were martial arts pants and shoes that seemed to be from Earth.

Turing his head a little, he looked at the Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord, seemingly uninterested in whatever he was doing here.

"Old man, I assume you're the current Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord." 

Before the man could respond, a colossal wooden hand burst through the fabric of space, seizing him and soul searching him.

The demon knew everything that the old man knew now, even the deepest secrets of the Gu world.

He however did not care about that, the only thing he cared about was the fact that the old man was trying to kill.

So, with a thought, the once mighty Heaven Overseeing Tower Lord was turned into meat paste from the pressure of the hand.

He then turned his head to Fairy Zi Wei who was flying away, trying to reach someone for help.

All her efforts were futile though, since she was stopped by multiple wooden hands forming a large barrier.

She turned her back to try and attack the demon, only for him to immediately show up in front of her, tanking the attack like it was nothing.

"I know your kind, beautiful ladies nurtured by Spirit Affinity House for the sole purpose of bringing a Demonic Cultivator to your side with the use of Love Gu, well guess what, I despise people like you."

Another wooden hand appeared, grabbing her before she could even think of a single word that he said.

She was going to mate the same Fate as the Tower Lord, but luckily for her, a will appeared in front of them.

It was Genesis Lotus's Will!

It spoke telepathically to the demon, and after some seconds, he clicked his tongue, disappearing instantly.

The will spoke to Fairy Zi Wei who was desperately trying to free herself from the wooden hand without it even moving.

But with just a move from the Will, the hand opened, setting her free.

It spoke to her telepathically, apologizing for what just happened while telling her not to anger the Immortal that just woke up if she values her life, before disappearing.

She of course did not listen and tried to track the demon who she was sure would be setting chaos around the Grotto Heaven.

When in reality, the Uncrowned Demon Venerable was already approaching the sun at an incredible speed, ready to do what he was woken up for.

Arriving there with lightning flickering around him, he saw a black space hole that was connected to the sun.

This was moments before Ning Zu escaped the Grotto Heaven, and the fire that was burning the whole land was from the sun!

This wasn't the reason he was here though, he was here for a legendary beast that had been hiding in the sun for centuries, leaving it and entering the hole for some reason.

'Well, this will be interesting.' Thought the Uncrowned Demon Venerable, ready to have some fun for the first time in a while.

That fun of course will only be enjoyable by him.
