Revival of the Demonic Cult

Chapter 4: Chapter 3

After having made his resolution, his mind drifted back to his time in the Namgung Clan.

Having been taken in as a child under the pretense of his family dying to the unorthodox faction.

Xie Tian was then placed in a sort of underground cell, along with tons of other children aged 5 to 8.

From an outsider's perspective, it was just a prison cell, but for the children it was a home.

Every day they had two different types of lessons, the first one was altered history about the Namgung Clan and the Jianghu.

Xie Tian had started harboring dangerous thoughts right before he was betrayed, and he questioned his superior about it, to witch they just smiled and waved him away.

But now, it was clear that they were being brainwashed since being children.

With small children being the most influenceable beings, it was a perfect plan by the Namgung Clan.

The children viewed the Namgung Clan Patriarch as a father, he would often come and visit them with a smile and tell them stories.

But it is clear now that it was all fake, it was all to brainwash the children to grow up into perfect weapons.

The second lesson was fighting.

Every day after the lessons, Xie Tian remembered how they were put in an open room and told to fight until one was left standing.

After years of brutal fighting, the Namgung Clan started learning out stealth and assassination techniques.

Forcing them to complete them or they would be beaten.

Turning Xie Tian and a few others into fully bred weapons of assassination, ready to take on the Clans dirty business.

"Ugh, fucking bastards!"

Just thinking back at his time there made Xie Tian clench his fists.

Feeling it to be useless to think back at it, he decided to proceed with checking out the books that were scattered around.

Seeing one book standing out with its exquisite frame of black and gold, he picked it up and read.

'This will be your last time hearing from me. The books left are not anything extreme, just the basics for you to reestablish your cultivation, or start for the first time.'

Feeling his Dantian again, Xie Tian connected with the part of reestablishing his cultivation again.

'It is a breathing technique, a movement technique and two combat techniques. Master them before leaving this place, there are enough grain pellets for that. The exit is on the other side of this room.'

Turning the page, he found only a small amount of text left.

'For the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult!'

"For the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult!"

Xie Tian, having had the feeling of connection with the past heavenly demon, thought of him as a master.

Placing the book back down, he went to the other four worn out books and opened them.

'Steps of the Wind God'

'Heavenly Demonic Sword Art'

'Heavenly Demonic Blade Art'

'Heavenly Demonic Breathing'

Looking at them, a surge of excitement welled up in Xie Tian, being able to start a new was the best gift he could ever wish for.

Knowing that the breathing technique was the most important he sat down cross legged next to it.

"Time to get working."

Xie tian opened the breathing technique and started following the instructions.

In just a short time, Xie Tian felt lighter, and his body became even more energetic.

Sensing his Dantian, he felt that he had formed a drop of pure internal energy inside his Dantian witch usually meant becoming a third-rate martial artist.

The only difference was the purity of Internal Energy, it was 10, no 100 times purer than a normal person's internal energy.

Closing his eyes and circulating his internal energy, he spends a couple of hours in a meditative state before slowly rising to his feet.

'The breathing technique is ingrained in me, now for the movement technique.'

Slowly reading the book the complexity of it stunned him, as it was nothing like what he had read before.

And for someone who had been a peak first rate martial artist, he had seen tons of different martial arts techniques.

But following the instructions and meditating on them for a moment made him feel like he had achieved something.

Spreading a thin layer of internal energy on his soles, he took specific steps.

"Fuck!"

His legs were aching, and his entire body was covered in sweat.

"The strain is insane! It will take a while, but I have all the time in the world!"

Xie Tian laughed as he looked at the grain pellets before continuing.

Starting from that day Xie Tian followed a strict regimen with practicing the Heavenly Demonic Breath in the morning and the Steps of the Wind God in the evening.

Time passed and after around two months, Xie Tian finally achieved some results.

"I have finally reached novice proficiency!"

He laid down on the ground panting heavily with his arms and legs stretched out, but there was a huge smile plastered on his face.

Who wouldn't be happy in a situation where they had tried for so long and finally saw results.

Especially in the martial arts world, increasing your proficiency with a technique can mean the difference between life and death.

Standing up, he decided to do it one last time before it was time to sleep.

Having been in the cave without sunlight for who knows how long, had made him create his own sleeping schedule.

Xie Tian spread his small amount of Internal Energy through his soles before taking a firm step forward.

Before his foot touched the ground, he arrived at a location two steps away from his original position.

Looking back at where he was standing Xie Tian could see a footprint imprinted onto the ground.

Taking one step but appearing two steps away instead would be a huge bonus for fighting, and taking his opponent off guard

He had finally succeeded in the most basic movement of the technique but just as he was about to stop there, he felt a surge in his internal energy.

Quickly sitting down and utilizing the Demonic Breathing technique, Xie Tian found himself in a state of enlightenment.

Understanding the basics of how to utilize the internal energy to purposefully maximize his body's effectiveness.

After coming out of the enlightenment his happiness from before was multiplied by ten.

"I have advanced to a second-rate martial artist!"

Feeling his amount of internal energy had almost doubled, and the efficiency at which he was moving his internal energy he knew he had reached Intermediate Prowess.

With everything that had happened today Xie Tian finally went to sleep on the cold hard stone floor with a content smile on his face.
