Chapter 15: Fight Against The Demonic Hawk
The hawk's screech echoed through the sky, a chilling reminder of the danger they were in. Wu Xie could feel his heart pounding in his chest, the reality of the situation slowly sinking in.
Wu Xie stood there, frozen like a statue, his eyes wide with shock and awe.
The scene unfolding before him was so surreal that he felt as if he was trapped in a terrifying dream.
The once familiar streets were now a battlefield, and the peaceful evening had turned into a scene of chaos and destruction.
As Wu Xie stood there, he was transfixed by the sight of the colossal hawk. Its eyes glowed ominously in the darkness, and its feathers shimmered with an ethereal light.
Suddenly, a burst of fire erupted from the creature's beak, a blazing inferno heading straight towards him.
Wu Xie instinctively raised his hands in defense, his eyes wide with terror. The heat was intense, and he could feel his skin prickling in response.
But before the flames could reach him, a blur of motion appeared at his side. Dan, had appeared out of nowhere, pulling Wu Xie to safety.
He quickly hid Wu Xie behind a nearby shop, its wooden structure providing a temporary shield. Dan unsheathed his sword, his eyes never leaving the monstrous hawk.
Wu Xie, his heart still pounding from the shock, watched as Dan charged towards the hawk. His movements were swift and precise, each step a calculated move in this deadly dance under the moonlit sky. His sword gleamed in the pale light.
At the same time, Han Li and his fellow elites from Abyssal Academy joined the fray. Their swords were drawn, the cold steel reflecting their grim determination.
They stood their ground in front of the hawk, their bodies rigid, their eyes focused on the monstrous creature.
Despite the imminent danger, their determination was unwavering, their resolve as solid as the ground they stood on.
The hawk, undeterred by their show of resistance, spat another stream of fire towards them.
The flames roared towards them, a fiery dragon intent on consuming everything in its path. But they were ready. With a swift movement, they conjured an ice shield, a wall of frost and cold that rose in front of them.
The flames crashed against the shield, the heat of the fire meeting the cold of the ice in a spectacular display of power.
From his hiding spot, Wu Xie watched in awe, his eyes wide with wonder and fear. He marveled at their power and courage, at their ability to stand against such a formidable creature.
Suddenly, a gust of wind, as powerful as a tempest, swept through the area. It was generated by the hawk's wings, each flap causing the air to tremble.
The shop Wu Xie was hiding behind, a humble structure of wood and brick, was lifted off its foundation as if it were made of paper. It was sent flying into the air, its contents scattering in the wind.
Exposed and vulnerable, Wu Xie found himself locking eyes with the hawk. Its eyes were like two burning embers, glowing ominously in the dark. The creature, recognizing a new target, adjusted its trajectory and swooped down towards him. Its talons were outstretched, ready to snatch its prey.
The sight of the hawk diving towards him snapped Wu Xie out of his stupor. His heart pounded in his chest like a war drum, adrenaline coursing through his veins like a raging river. Fear gripped him.
Just when the hawk was about to swoop down on Wu Xie, a figure with an aura as powerful as a storm arrived.
His presence was like a beacon in the chaos, drawing everyone's attention. With a swift, almost invisible movement of his sword, he sent the hawk flying away.
The creature let out a surprised squawk as it was thrown off course, its attack thwarted.
Wu Xie was left in shock, his eyes wide as he took in the raw power of the newcomer. His heart still pounded in his chest, but now it was mixed with awe and relief.
The newcomer had saved him, his power a stark contrast to the danger they were in. Wu Xie could only stare, his mind struggling to comprehend the turn of events.
Han Li rushed to the newcomer, bowing respectfully. 'Your Highness, we are grateful for your timely arrival.' The newcomer was none other than Kyle, the son of the Holy Empress and the top student of Abyssal Academy.
He was there with Chen, another popular student from the academy.
Kyle, his eyes burning with determination, announced his plan. "I'll attack from the front. Chen, Han Li, circle around and attack from the back. Dan, keep it distracted from the side." His voice was steady, his confidence infectious.
With their roles assigned, they steeled themselves for the intense fight that was about to unfold.
Kyle, moved his sword towards the sky. It was a silent invocation to the power of thunder, a plea to the forces of nature to lend him their strength.
The air around them seemed to crackle with electricity, the tension palpable. It was as if the very atmosphere was holding its breath, waiting for the impending clash.
With a loud crack, a bolt of lightning struck his sword. The sky lit up, the darkness momentarily banished by the brilliant light.
The sword, now imbued with the power of thunder, was a sight to behold. Kyle directed it towards the hawk with a swift, precise movement. His actions were a blur, a testament to his skill and speed.
The hawk screeched, a sound that echoed through the night, as it fell to the ground. Its wings, once a symbol of its dominance in the sky, were now unable to keep it aloft.
The mighty creature was grounded, its reign of terror momentarily halted.
Without wasting a moment, they quickly formed a formation around the fallen hawk. Their swords were pointed at it, their faces set in grim determination.
Each of them was a pillar of strength, their resolve unyielding. The hawk, despite its size and power, was now surrounded and vulnerable. It was a predator turned prey, its fate hanging in the balance.
