Rise of the Martial Village

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Awakening the Blood Qi

The early morning sun cast its golden light over the training field, illuminating the serene landscape. The soft rustle of leaves in the breeze added a sense of tranquility, but within this calm, an air of anticipation lingered. For two days, Lian Yaling had dedicated himself entirely to the foundational techniques Lin Yulan had imparted, his focus unwavering as he sought to awaken his blood qi.

Nearby, Lin Yulan observed her disciple with quiet satisfaction. She could see the fruits of his diligence his posture was firm, his breathing steady, and his energy had grown sharper, more refined. Yet, there was something else. A faint ripple of energy surrounded him, subtle but undeniable. Her sharp senses as a seasoned cultivator told her that the moment was near.

Stepping closer, Lin Yulan kept her gaze fixed on Lian Yaling. Awakening blood qi was a delicate process, fraught with potential risks. She was determined to ensure nothing went awry.

Lian Yaling sat cross legged beneath the shade of an ancient tree, his eyes closed in deep concentration. The world around him seemed to fade as he focused inward, searching for the dormant energy within his blood. His breathing grew slow and rhythmic, each inhale drawing him deeper into his own body. Slowly, he began to sense it a faint, pulsating warmth coursing through his veins.

Suddenly, his body trembled. A spark of crimson light flickered to life, faint at first but growing steadily stronger. The light expanded, wrapping around him in a brilliant red aura that surged outward like a living flame. The intensity of the energy was palpable, and Lin Yulan's eyes narrowed as she monitored the process closely.

The aura pulsed rhythmically, resonating with the steady beat of Lian Yaling's heart. Each pulse seemed to solidify the energy, stabilizing it within him. Lin Yulan's lips curved into a faint smile. The awakening was proceeding smoothly an undeniable testament to her disciple's talent and determination.

Just then, a familiar voice echoed in her mind.

**"Your disciple has successfully awakened his blood qi. The 100-times return reward is triggered. The host's blood qi foundation is strengthened by 100 times. Integration will be automatic to avoid adverse effects."**

Lin Yulan's eyes widened briefly as she felt a surge of power within her. Her blood qi foundation, already strong, was now incomparably robust. The transformation was seamless, the system's meticulous integration ensuring there were no disruptions to her cultivation. She took a deep breath, marveling at the newfound strength coursing through her veins.

Meanwhile, Lian Yaling remained focused, his body glowing with the radiant red aura as he guided the awakened energy through his meridians. The process was painstakingly slow, requiring every ounce of his concentration. Hours passed, the sun climbing higher in the sky before beginning its descent.

At long last, the red aura around him began to fade, its energy fully integrated into his being. Lian Yaling exhaled deeply, his eyes fluttering open as he completed the process. Exhaustion was evident in his expression, but so too was a profound sense of accomplishment.

Rising unsteadily to his feet, he turned to see Lin Yulan standing nearby, a bowl of steaming stew in her hands. His stomach growled audibly, and he blushed in embarrassment.

"Master," he began, his voice hoarse but grateful, "I..."

"Eat first," Lin Yulan interrupted gently, handing him the bowl. "You've done well."

The rich aroma of the spiritual deer stew filled his senses, and Lian Yaling didn't hesitate to obey. Each bite was a balm to his weary body, the nourishing meal replenishing his energy. Lin Yulan watched him silently, a small smile playing on her lips. Her disciple had taken a crucial step forward, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride.

Once he had finished eating, Lian Yaling set the empty bowl aside and bowed deeply. "Thank you, Master. For everything."

Lin Yulan inclined her head. "You've earned it, Lian Yaling. But your journey is just beginning. Come."

She led him back to the training field, where the late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the grass. Turning to face him, her expression grew serious.

"Disciple," she began, her voice calm and steady, "you have successfully awakened your blood qi. Now, it is time to take the next step: the path to Qi Refining."

Lian Yaling straightened, his exhaustion forgotten as he listened intently.

"To enter the Qi Refining level," Lin Yulan continued, "you must circulate your blood qi throughout your body, guiding it into your dantian. This process will open your meridians. Once your meridians are fully opened, your body will naturally begin to absorb spiritual qi from the world around you."

She paused, allowing him to absorb her words before elaborating further.

"As you circulate your blood qi, you will compress it into your dantian. Each compression will send a qi wave through your body, strengthening it and preparing it to absorb qi more efficiently. This process will also purify your blood qi. You must repeat it until your qi turns blue a sign that it has been fully refined. Once you reach this stage, you will be ready to break through into the Qi Refining level."

Her gaze softened slightly as she added, "Do not rush. The process is as much about patience as it is about effort. Overexertion will only harm your foundation."

Lian Yaling bowed deeply, gratitude evident in his every movement. "Thank you, Master. I will proceed carefully and do my best."

Lin Yulan nodded approvingly. "Good. Begin when you are ready. I will be here to guide you if needed."

With a determined nod, Lian Yaling settled into his meditation stance once more. Closing his eyes, he focused inward, feeling the steady flow of his blood qi. It was a strange yet exhilarating sensation, like discovering a hidden reservoir of strength within himself.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, the training field was filled with the quiet hum of cultivation. Lin Yulan sat nearby, her own meditation unbroken as she monitored her disciple's progress.

Though the path ahead was long and fraught with challenges, both master and disciple remained steadfast in their pursuit of strength. In the stillness of the evening, their bond grew stronger a silent promise that they would face whatever lay ahead together.
