RWBY: Oscar the gamer

Chapter 23: It is finally over

Oscar, Ruby, Yang and Blake was picking up what was will a after math of a festival, they were being supervises by Crimson and Velvet.

Yang spoke, as she said what she said over the week. "2 weeks of clean up is not so fair for one day of screw up".

Blake then spoke with a bit of a smug. "Be happy that is only today left"

Crimson chuckles as he looked at them. "Oh boy you think this is bad, my team had to do worse, especially me and Issac".

Velvet then spoke as she looked at the team with a smile. "This will be noting compair to the clean up need for the Vytal Festival in the future".

Oscar looked at her as he spoke. "Oh yeah that is going to be a mess and a half, for any and all clean up team".

Meanwhile Weiss was helping but not so much, as she believes this is way to bellow her, as then she saw Ruby use her semblance to make a air stream that sucks up the rest of the Garbage and sent to the trash, Weiss moved out the way almost getting hit as she saw Oscar Giggling as she rolled her eyes, he tolerance of him was getting a bit higher only by 1% the more she spent with him, did help that she feels something for the farm boy.

Crimson them looked at her standing doing minimum work, he knows how to handle a Schnee. "You know Weiss, if you don't like you can help the worker's out taking down the stall".

Velvet clapping hee hands together looked at Weiss. "That is a great idea, Oscar why don't you help her as well"

The other workers are happy. "Yes finally some helping hands".

Another one then spoke. "Yeah, I think we will take trh help of the Shnee Princess".

Then the final ones spoke. "Yeah better company then the critter like that Rabbit over there".

Velvet looks a bit sad, Oscar crushed an empty can, before he puts in the trash, and Blake flinched angerly, almost ready to hurt them but Velvet shakes hee head saying it is not worth it, Oscar then goes with Weiss, but he was not going enjoying working with these people he noticed Blake look as he knew hee secret he understands her reaction but he can't just say, especially seeing that even Blake didn't knew he knows that she is a Faunus.

Yang then went to Blake as he spoke. "What was that about?".

Blake sighed and looked at her as she spoke, telling the half truth. "I Symptoms with the faunus".

Yang just nervously chuckled at that. "Will then you being on team with Weiss is Irony".

Crimson then spoke opening a portal and pulling out a juice box. "You think that is award, my life is a bit weird when it came to trh faunus, My Bio family was killed By the Faunus when I was kid, I was adopted by a Faunus family, my partner in Beacon is a Faunus her name is Rose and now I am dating her, so yeah my life has been weird and I don't hate them I mena you tell how could I".

Oscar followed Weiss to the workers dismantling the festival stalls. He could sense Weiss's reluctance, but she held her head high as always, trying to maintain her dignity despite her obvious displeasure. The workers didn't seem particularly thrilled either, but Oscar decided to keep things civil—for now.

Weiss sighed, brushing her hair back as she approached the workers. "Let's get this over with," she muttered.

Oscar stepped forward, breaking the tension. "Alright, what do you need us to do?"

One of the older workers smirked, handing Oscar a toolbox. "You, farm boy, help take apart the booths. And you," he pointed at Weiss, "can help sort the materials."

Weiss frowned but complied, albeit reluctantly. She muttered under her breath as she started sorting the piles of wood, nails, and other supplies.

Oscar, on the other hand, began unscrewing bolts and carefully dismantling the booth structure. He glanced over at Weiss occasionally, noting her struggle to keep her composure as the workers around her mumbled snide comments about her status and upbringing.

One worker chuckled. "Never thought I'd see a Schnee doing manual labor. What's the world coming to?"

Another added, "Bet she's never even held a hammer before."

Oscar tightened his grip on the wrench in his hand, his patience wearing thin. "You know," he said, loud enough for everyone to hear, "it's funny how the ones doing the least amount of work have the most to say."

The workers fell silent, glaring at him, but didn't respond. Weiss shot him a surprised look, a flicker of gratitude crossing her face before she returned to her task.

Meanwhile, back at the cleanup site, Crimson leaned against a dismantled stall, sipping his juice box while keeping an eye on Team ROWBY. Blake was still visibly upset, her ears twitching slightly under her bow. Yang stood next to her, a supportive hand on her shoulder.

"Blake," Yang said softly, "you okay?"

Blake nodded but didn't speak. Crimson, noticing her mood, decided to step in.

"Hey," he said, walking over. "Ignore those jerks. People like that aren't worth your energy."

Blake glanced at him, her expression softening slightly. "Thanks, Crimson. It's just... frustrating, you know?"

"Yeah, I get it," Crimson said. "But trust me, you're not alone. There are plenty of people who see Faunus who they are, not what they are."

Yang smiled at Crimson. "For someone who's been through so much, you're surprisingly optimistic."

Crimson shrugged, taking another sip of his juice. "What can I say? Life's too short to let idiots get you down."

Back at the stalls, Oscar and Weiss were finally making progress. Despite her initial reluctance, Weiss had started working more efficiently, even taking charge of organizing the materials.

"You know," Oscar said, breaking the silence, "you're actually pretty good at this."

Weiss raised an eyebrow. "Are you trying to flatter me, farm boy?"

Oscar chuckled. "Just stating facts. You've got an eye for organization."

Weiss huffed but didn't respond, though Oscar noticed a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

As the day wore on, the tension between the workers and Weiss eased slightly, thanks in part to Oscar's calm demeanor and subtle deflection of their comments. By the time they finished, the workers even offered a begrudging nod of approval.

Crimson then looked at the floor. "Looks like there is still some trash left".

Ruby sigehd as she spoke. "We are not allowed to go back to the dorm before finishing this are me"

Crimson just smiled at her, as she knew the answer she then actived her semblance as she created the storm again, Oscar used some small fire Balls to burn some the trash, as Weiss helped a bit more but more on Oscar side then anything.

After that was done they saw one of the trash can hand an arm sticking up as Team ROWBY digged the person out, as they did they saw how she looked.

She has light-skinned android with rather curly short orange hair that came down to her chin with a small cowlick on top and she wore a pink bow on the back of her head, bright green eyes and freckles.

She wore an off white old-fashioned styled off the shoulder blouse with frill detailed trim and frill flared cuffs that half covered her hands alongside copper button detailing on the lower parts of her sleeves. She also sported a short gray pinafore dress with golden trim on the hem alongside four light green stalagmite styled stripes on the lower half of the dress, two on the front and two on the back, accompanied by two matching-colored circles above the tips that had a stripe that ran around her waistline, with golden outlines, and a detachable black and light green collar. She also wore a pair of black thigh-high leg pieces that seemingly were attached to black shoes. The leg pieces had a single green stripe up the sides that appeared to light up.

Penny looked at them as she spoke with a happy and cheerful voice. "Salutations, my name is Penny Polendina".

Weiss then looked at her. "I am Weiss Schnee pleasure to meet you, maybe I ask why are you here".

Penny looked at Ruby, and the rest of the team, as she spoke with a cheerful voice as always. "Will I was just wondering around, then I checked the area was blocked up so I went there to see what the deal then I got caught up in a localized weather event".

Ruby blushed in embarrassment, as she looked at as she chuckled. "Hahah, yeah how weird right".

Oscar then moved his hand as he was ready to shake her hands. "Will Atlest you made out in one piece".

Penny giggles at the pun, as she moved her hands. "Pleasure is all mine as well".

They shakes hands, as then it happenrd both felt something from the other Oscar felt something ancients and deadly from Penny, it was dark and destructive both protecting her both also waiting to kill him, as for Penny she felt a strange not so ancient but equally scarry even more scarry then what she has, as she can hear a evil and chaotic laughter this one seemed to protect Oscar but they both moved arm sharking the head.

Penny then said she will help, which helped them more but she then dropped a can on Weiss she then looked at her and said something like maybe if she likes helping she should take a part-time job on as she left for the helicopter, as then the thing was done

As the rest of the gang Walked passed a dust store which was broken into, it said that the White Fang did it again, but to Oscar this didn't feel right but for now he decided to keep in the back of his mind another thing was in his for now.

Team ROWBY finally made the way back to there dorm room. As they reseted or for Weiss but the shower's.

The team trudged back to the dorm after their long day, the faint echoes of the helicopter's departure still ringing in their ears. Ruby flopped onto her bed, letting out a dramatic sigh of relief.

"I can't believe we finished everything," she said, her voice muffled by her pillow. "Even with the localized weather event."

Blake smirked as she settled on her bed with a book. "You mean your semblance chaos?"

Ruby groaned. "Don't remind me."

Yang chuckled, stretching out her arms. "Well, at least Penny was fun to meet. She's... interesting."

Oscar sat down at the desk, deep in thought. "Interesting is one word for it," he murmured, recalling the strange, ominous sensation he'd felt when shaking Penny's hand. The memory of the ancient, destructive force lurking within her sent chills down his spine.

Weiss walked into the room with a towel draped over her shoulder, her hair damp from her shower. "I still can't believe she dropped a can on me. Honestly, some people have no sense of decorum."

Yang laughed. "C'mon, Weiss, it was just a can. Lighten up."

Weiss rolled her eyes. "Easy for you to say. You weren't the one humiliated in front of a crowd of workers."

Oscar glanced at Weiss, then back at his scroll. He couldn't shake the unease he felt—not just from Penny, but also from the news about the White Fang. Something about the break-in didn't sit right with him.

"Hey," he said, breaking the silence. "Did anyone else think it was strange how the White Fang was being blamed for that dust store robbery? It didn't feel... right."

Blake tensed slightly, her eyes narrowing as she closed her book. "What do you mean?"

Oscar shrugged, trying to organize his thoughts. "It just seemed... off. Like someone was trying to set them up or distract from something bigger."

Blake's expression softened, though she remained cautious. "It wouldn't be the first time someone tried to use the White Fang as a scapegoat."

Yang noticed the shift in Blake's mood and quickly interjected. "Whatever it is, we'll deal with it if it comes up. For now, let's just enjoy the fact that we survived two weeks of cleanup duty."

Ruby sat up, a smile returning to her face. "Yeah! And tomorrow, we can finally get back to doing what we do best—kicking butt and taking names!"

Crimson's voice came from the doorway, startling them. "Don't get too comfortable," he said with a smirk. "Your next mission might be closer than you think."

The team groaned in unison, but deep down, they all knew he was right. Rest wouldn't last long—not at Beacon.

As the evening wore on and the team settled in for the night, Oscar couldn't help but glance out the window, his mind racing. Between Penny, the White Fang, and the strange forces at play, he had a feeling things were about to get a lot more complicated.

In the kitchen, as Oscar was making dinner for the team, he saw Blake walk in.

Blake went to him as she spoke. "I agree with you".

Oscar looked at her as he spoke. "So you also felt something of right, good too see I am not that only one"

Blake then spoken as she looked at him. "I mean why wouldn't I believe my own partner".

Oscar paused in his chopping, looking at Blake with a small, surprised smile.

"Partner, huh?" he said, his tone teasing but warm. "That's the first time you've called me that."

Blake shrugged, a faint smirk on her lips. "Don't let it get to your head. I'm just acknowledging the truth."

Oscar chuckled softly and returned to his task. "Well, it's nice to know someone else is thinking the same way. The whole situation feels... staged, doesn't it? Like it's too convenient for the White Fang to be blamed."

Blake crossed her arms, leaning against the counter. "It wouldn't be the first time they've been used as scapegoats. But it also wouldn't be the first time someone within the organization did something reckless. The White Fang isn't as united as people think."

Oscar nodded, taking her words seriously. "It's like someone wants to stir the pot—either to make the White Fang look worse or to distract from what's really going on."

Blake's amber eyes flickered with a mixture of frustration and determination. "If that's true, then we need to figure out who's behind it and why. Otherwise, innocent people—Faunus and humans—are going to keep getting hurt."

Oscar set down his knife and turned to face her fully. "Then let's figure it out. Together. If we're partners, that means we watch each other's backs, right?"

Blake looked at him, her expression softening. "Right."

The moment of camaraderie was interrupted by Ruby poking her head into the kitchen, her eyes lighting up.

"Oscar! Is dinner ready yet? I'm starving!" she whined.

Oscar laughed, shaking his head. "Almost, Ruby. Just give me a few more minutes."

Ruby's gaze shifted to Blake. "Oh, hey, Blake. What are you guys talking about?"

Blake straightened up, her usual calm demeanor returning. "Just strategy. You know, boring stuff."

Ruby pouted. "Boring stuff? Strategy's important, you know! Don't leave me out of the loop!"

Blake smirked, her tone playful. "Don't worry, Ruby. You'll know everything you need to when the time comes."

Ruby huffed but left them alone, leaving Oscar and Blake to exchange amused glances.

"Partners, huh?" Oscar said again, grinning.

Blake rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the faint smile on her lips. "Don't push your luck, farm boy."

With that, she left the kitchen, leaving Oscar feeling a little more confident—and a little less alone.
