LIGHTNOVELWORLD Chapter 3: Vicky and Felicity
There she was, my neighbor, Vicky, who had saved me when I had lost consciousness after watching the roof collapse on my mom and sister.
She was loading up the necessary things in her car's backseat while looking in my direction with a relieved look on her face. She must have seen me when I entered the house. That was why when I didn't come out when she was about to leave, she had gone in and saw me passed out in the living room.
Her daughter, Felicity, was already sitting in the passenger seat, an anxious look on her face.
I could see Vicky wanted to ask us to come over and leave with her, but she was hesitating because there was barely enough room for one person with the things loaded up in the backseat.
"Come. We'll leave with Aunt Vicky." I said, walking toward Vicky's car. Because of our financial condition, we couldn't afford a car and even had to sell my father's truck. So, we had no choice but to hitch a ride with someone else.
As we walked forward, I suddenly noticed some system messages floating on the corner of the system screen at the corner of my retina.
[Congratulation! You have saved your mother and sister and have fulfilled your desire.]
[You have received 100 DFS points, $10,000, and a skill, Medicine Fluids (Level 1).]
[Medicine Fluids: Gives your fluids, blood, saliva, piss, and semen medicinal healing properties. Can heal any injury, illness, etc. The level of the skill decides the effectiveness of the healing. Also, blood is most potent, followed by semen, saliva, and piss.]
At first I was happy to see I was rewarded for saving my mom and sister, and my happiness only increased when I saw I got a whopping 10,000 dollars and another skill, and unlike the Flash Steps, this one was permanent since there was no 'Temporary' added to it.
However, when I read its description, I was stunned.
'This… What kind of perverted skill is this, system? Can't you give me something else?' I asked the system.
[Host, the rewards are something either host desires and needs. They can't be changed.]
My eyelids twitched when I read this and recalled the time when I read those cultured novels and thought if I had it, it would have been amazing.
Quickly shaking the embarrassment I was feeling away, I looked at my unconscious mom on my shoulder and thought, 'I could help her with this.' Of course, I meant by giving her my blood, not the other stuff…
"Hello, Vicky. Can you take us with you?" I said to Vicky, who was waiting for us with a hesitant look on her beautiful face.
"Ryan, I want to, but there isn't much space in the car." She said, pointing toward the backseat stuffed with her things.
"Don't worry. We will manage." I said.
"But Lori is unconscious. She wouldn't be comfortable back there." Vicky said before bending down to speak to Felicity, "Baby, make some room for Aunt Lori."
Felicity didn't show any reluctance and nodded before scooting to the edge of the seat, near the gear handle.
Being neighbors, our families knew each other very well, and because our situation was similar, with them being poor, just slightly better off than us, we connected better with one another more. Felicity's father had left a year before my father died for some young chick at his office, leaving Vicky, who was a housewife like my mother, to take care of Felicity and fend for themselves. Because he had connections, he made it so that he didn't even need to pay alimony when they divorced. He left them with just the house, maybe out of pity for his daughter.
I gently put my mother on the seat before placing the Fire Avoidance pearl inside her dress so heat wouldn't bother her and Felicity.
Then as Vicky went around and opened the door to the driver's side, I opened the back door and sat down on a seat before gesturing for Cataline to sit on my lap because there was no room for her to sit.
Cataline blushed a little, but she entered the car and sat down on my lap without much hesitation. After closing the door shut, I wrapped my right hand around my lower abdomen, and because I couldn't place my other hand comfortably on the bags and other things on the seat beside me, I had no choice but to place it on her thigh.
"You ready?" Vicky asked.
"Yes. Let's go." I said before asking the system, 'How long does the Fire Avoidance Pearl last?'
[Half an hour host.]
'I sighed in relief before taking out the remaining pearls. I activated them and gave one to Vicky, "Here, Vicky. Put it in your pocket."
Vicky frowned, but she did as I told her before starting the car.
Cat looked at the other Fire Avoidance Pearl in my hand and curiously asked, in a low voice, "Big brother, what is it? How can it make the heat go away?"
I hesitated a little before saying, "It's a magical item. Don't ask how it is possible and how I have them? I'll tell you when it's time."
"Okay." Cat nodded her head in understanding. I liked this about her. Unlike most girls her age, she wasn't rebellious and obeyed whatever I said, took care of our mom, and did all the housework before going and coming back from school.
Maybe because Vicky was too anxious, she didn't notice she wasn't feeling the heat after I gave her the pearl, just as I had thought.
After starting the engine, she glanced at her house that was burning and drove away.
Honk! Honk! Honk!
Because everyone was trying to leave, the roads were filled with vehicles. Fortunately, just half an hour later, we left the area affected by the fire. When we left, it was around 7 P.M., so just an hour's drive later, the sky had started darkening.
Cat had loosened up by now and was leaning against me.
Maybe because I had come back in time, and maybe because I had managed to save them, I was perfectly calm and happy even. So, unlike Vicky, Felicity, and Cat, who had been thinking about what was going to happen now that they had lost their homes and had no money to stay somewhere else, I wasn't thinking about all that, mainly because I had over 11,000 dollars sitting in my bank account, and with the system, I wasn't worried about getting more.
Instead, my thoughts were focused on somewhere else. For this last half an hour, I had been trying to suppress my male reactions that I was having due to feeling the soft, though petite and somewhat skinny but feminine body on my lap and pressed against my chest.
I was telling myself she was my sister and I shouldn't have this reaction and was trying to distract myself by trying to think about something else, but it was becoming hard to control it. In fact, I was already semi-erect. The only saving grace was Cat had fallen asleep and therefore, hadn't noticed it.
