Sacred Time

19th Century - 1865.

Somewhere in Korea.

A man enters the hallway and knocks on the door "My Lord, They have bought him here."

"Bring him in" a voice comes from inside the hall.

" Yes my lord " man responds nodding. He was the butler for the merchant.

inside the hall a man dressed in an old classic korean traditional dress, in an empty room sitting on the throne, the throne resembles a kings throne, definitely more than that, majestic looking, it is made up of pure gold.

Dong-won, he was one of the top merchants in korea . Although he is not a king, he has a power par with the king.

A minute later two people dragged a man into the hall. blood stained his white dress, all teared up, blood dried on his wounds, totally the man was bloodied up

"cough ...cough ...long time no see, brother." the man who was just dragged coughed mouth full of blood.

The man was none other than the merchant head's relative. Young-won, A sub-family head and step-brother to the merchant head.

" Why " the dong-won asked the young-won .

"It's been five years since I gave you a mission, you were supposed to bring that goods here, i paid you plenty of money, enough for your family to live without work for a hundred years. I kept my words, I looked after your family, i cured your daughter and Yet you choose to betray me "

" No, I'm grateful for the things you have done but...

that thing should not exist on earth , we humans aren't even worthy to touch that " young-won replays

" I " dong-won punches him in guts " decide whether humans touch it or not, you do not get to choose that"

"that item is mine, it has been with us for generations, centuries, for thousands of years " dong-won walks back to his , majestic chair and sits.

A eight years back some bandits broke into his house and stole the coffin thinking it has gold and jewelleries inside.

Dong-won caught them soon enough but he couldn't find the coffin.

Dong-won's dad told him that the coffin has passed down from the birth of their family, it holds the knowledge and powers left by ancient beings . If anyone can possess them, they can rule the world. But his father's and his ancestors'efforts were unsuccessful. They couldn't find a way to unlock the box.

"And that's why i did it, it cannot fall into anyone's hands if that happens..... the entire earth flips upside down, chaos emerges, humanity will go extinct," young-won says.

"and how do you know that," dong-won asks.

" I saw it, when I opened it, it showed me a vision"

Dong-won abruptly woke from his seat and grabbed his collar " how did you open it, it was supposed to be sealed. No human can open it, and yet you saw you saw it? "

"hehehe..cough..hahahaha" young-won laughed " how else, with a key of course."

"where is the key ? It was supposed to be lost in history"

"I don't know, find it . It's somewhere on earth. hehehee. Oh right, even if you find the key, you don't have the coffin.Hahahahaha" yong-won laughs hysterically

"no, no you shouldn't have done that, and even if we are relative your entire family will fall, I'll personally kill them, one by one, every single one of them to the last one." Dong-won says

"no, it's worth it, one family for the future of humanity. the world will be safe until someone finds the coffin"

" I'll find it no matter what it takes, even if i have to dig into the center of the earth. I'll find it" dong-won says with the loud voice.

" Now the cat is out of the bag , what will you do brother. you're not the only one searching for it. Blood will flow like a river, greed for authority will come to an end ,with my death the history will be erased and a new era will begin."

Hearing those words dong-won feared and asked " What did you do ? "

" Nothing, I just shaked the tree and the bee hive has fallen. The bees are angry" young-won laughs and says.

"Where is the coffin and the key, young-won ? I won't ask you again "

" You cannot brother, even I don't know."

" But I do know one thing, you cannot find it and not just you, no one can find it . Those who try to the coffin will be lost in history. Hahahaha"

"Then, you are no use for me . Good bye brother "

Dong-won chokehold young-won and holds him until he no longer breathes.

"Disposal the body, kill everyone for his family and .. .. and retrace his journey and connection of the past few years, find the key. No matter what " Dong-won commands and leaves the hall.

The butler looks at two people who were present in the hall and follows the lord

" Are you alright my lord ? Are you really ok with that decision" The butler asks.

Dong-won remains silent and continues to walk.

They both leave the estate.

Later that evening in the back garden dong-won sitting in his chair and drinking alcohol, the butler standing behind him.

" My lord I've been serving you for more that two decades and i never questioned you nor your decision, as far as I know you have achieved everything, fame, wealth, authority and power." The butler stutters a bit " a-and you still seem unsatisfied. May I ask why it is that you are so desperate to find that coffin and what is inside of it ."

" Kwang " dong-won sips a drink and looks at the flowers in the garden.

Kwang is the Butler's name, he doesn't have a surname. once he was a slave. Dong-won's father took pity on him and gave him work to serve his son dong-won in his mansion. Kwang served dong-won from his childhood, after dong-won's father passed away, he became the head of the servants.

" What I've achieved till now is nothing compared to what's inside that box, kwang" dong-won says

" For what's inside the box, I'm not hundred percent sure but as our family history tells. It's the remaining of a..."
