Chapter 5: Chapter 4 Episode 2
"Hmm" releasing a soft hum as he arose from meditation a black mist wrapped around Samson. Crawling out of the lotus position the Evols body converted into a sleeker, more cheetah-like version with a heavy muscular bear body. Pointing his nose to the heavens a multitude of aromas drifted into his tusked muzzle.
Lost in the pleasures of awareness of mind and body Samson could see himself moving, feel it but his instinct moved at its own command, all for the holy strand, which only lay a couple miles from him. Starting off in a slow steady sure walk until he found himself at a full sprint flying past animal, shrub, boulder, and bug a like finding himself at a waterhole.
Slowing his pace within a hundred meters of his target, woof, Samson manifested a multitude of spears which sprang into the sky to rain around his quarry.
Punching the ground the Gomorrodox sent chunks of earth springing into the air hitting each of them with the diamond club of his tail sending them firing towards their hitter.
Weaving in and out of the flaming fast balls, hurling fireballs himself, Samson continued to advance, peeping out every living species in the area while dodging spiked columns which sprang to the sky trying to cease his movements. Evading one two three assaults Samson ran up a pillar, bounced off a second, latched onto a third then another before they crumbled back to the earth they came from.
Swirling its tail woosh the Gomorrodox propelled forth tumbling slabs of earth launching them in the air juggling Samson within the shuffling slates.
Ricocheting, crawling up, maneuvering between plates Samson held his gaze on the Gomorrodox awaiting, calculating every moment. Spotting his mark, chains of hair flowed from his arms penetrating the slab, locking in. Woof rocking the block of earth over, eyes glowing after his prey Samson waited till he was upside down to unleash multiple flaming spheres of energy.
Turning its head intrigued by the Evol the Gomorrodox watched the blasts destruct, and the slabs project a confetti of basketball chunks of earth while exhaling a earthly mist that saturated the air hiding its pursuer.
Woof, woosh, woof propelling multiple earth projectiles, some on fire, outside the screen of smoke woof Samson came streaking out seconds later behind them.
Bouncing back and forth, running in circles and sending grenades flying back the Gomorrodox came out of a spin to Samson honing in on it. Jolting forth in two powerful leaps a third sent the Quintessence bolting into the air and at his harasser.
Using the weight of the chunks of earth still deadbolted to his chain of hairs Samson was able to maneuver past the Gomorrodox and block its diamond club with the bricks of earth tethering from his arm. Landing on all fours Samson sprung up reaching out for the holy strand obtaining it and slipping away right before a jagged pillar of earth could mutilate his hand.
Pouncing spear in hand the Gomorrodox dropped to the ground locating its strike when its toy decided to make a hasty retreat. Twisting its head in confusion the Quintessence spun around in circles then plopped on the grass closing its eyes.

"You can't get me." Teased a child dodging one ball then another she scooped one up and hurled it back.
Running through the field of flowers to pick up their spells the children fought amongst each other for the balls to become the next caster before breaking out in a mad dash of play and laughter once again.
"No, No" Calling out to the ball he overthrew one of the kids eyes shut closed as it bounced then rolled downhill meeting up with an ancient, cryptic well which lived down below.
Sliding horrified glances between another one of the little girls shouted "Well go and get the ball Jovie."
"But we're not allowed to go near the well." Jovie countered.
"Well you shouldn't have threw the ball to it."
"But the witch." Jovie mumbled.
"Hurt the people that don't pay for their wishes. If you don't make a wish nothing happens."
"But what if he thinks it?"
"Shhhhh, don't say that."
"Can someone go with me?"
"What ya'll doing over there?"
"Nothing big sister Chala" The children hollered tossing mischievous eyes across the pasture at the five foot six Chala striding across the grass in her brown skirt.
"It's time to eat, come on now."
Shifting quick peeks toward the ball the kids all ran in the direction of Chala skipping and singing as if nothing happened.

"Pealim." Groaning Samson's face twisted in pain. "I'm hungry." he cried.
"We just have partaking in an evening meal. How is it that you hunger?"
"I don't know." Moaned Samson as he peered up at his Architect. "I ate…but hunger still wrestles my gut…" Sliding his gaze around the market square taking in the varieties of food and merchandise the young Evol looked up at his guardian with puppy dog eyes. "...can you get me something to eat?"
Staring at his Abhah, Abbott's eyes narrowed on his disciple noticing something peculiar but not sure what. "You vomited upon eating early what you normally consume."
Shrugging his shoulders with rolling eyes Samson said, "We mostly eat what me or Father catches, sometimes we forge for berries but when I go too long, without meat, I get really hungry…like now."
Absorbing this information Abbott head bobbed. "What particles are in meat that he…" Swinging his head around at a shriek, Abbott watched a thief shove Samson nearly knocking him over.
"Grr" Stumbling from the push all of Samson's senses went into fight mode causing him to lash out and slash at the back of his aggressor who continued to run making his way up a pyramid of crates then onto a roof where he made his escape.
Observing the red eyed, rabid stare of his apprentice Abbott pressed his hand upon his shoulder stopping him from chasing the thief. "Peace." he spoke, releasing loving vibrations through his disciple. "Our destination is along this route."
Blinking back to consciousness at the serene wavy sensation enveloping his body Samson chunked a smile on his face. "Can we grab something to eat after?."
"Sure." replied Abbott with a studious gaze. "That we will."

"I was told that the witch can grant you any wish." whispered a child as they trotted behind their big sister.
"Yea but it comes with a price." whispered another.
"Yep Death."
"How can death be the price when you have to receive the wish stupid."
"Because you don't die, someone else does."
"And how do you know that…" Wagging her finger and rocking her head, the little girl's face lit up. "I get it. You're just like the grown ups. Wants all the wishes for yourself."
"Wishes?" Whispered Jovie to the ceiling, tears rolling down his cheeks at the mothers crackling cough in the background. Rolling out his mat into shoes. "I'm going to make you better mommy." thought Jovie creeping out into the night under the groans of his mother.
Skittering from every shadow and ducking from every sound, Jovie made his way through the village to the forest. Following a forbidden route, eyes darting and his body trembling he made a way to his destination against fears of the unseen and animals of the night.
Staring at the field of flowers, Jovie's eyes swam to the spot where the well slept, knowing that it stood below the twinkles of the night even if he couldn't see it. Inhaling in an almost panic the young man shook his hands as if they were hot. "I'm going to be in so much trouble." Tossing and turning making sure no one saw Jovie dashed across the pasture at max speed until his lungs burned and his legs were tired.
"There!" Beaming in on the well, Jovie's speed tripled with an extra burst that made his feet thump the earth with a little more force in the silence. "Alright." Slowing down into skips he caught himself against the bricks of the basin.
Searching for his ball Jovie scooped it up. "Oh wonderful witch of the wishing well if you heal my mommy I'll do anything you ask." Reeling up the bucket he put his ball in it. "I use this ball as my oath."
Doom, Doom, Doom rumbled the basin tipping Jovie over and into its mouth.
