Shackles Of Reality

**Adam walker's POV**

"Get out, and me better not see you near my

restauranté again, a**holes", said the furious restaurant owner.

Well about half an hour ago, we found a restaurant called 'Alejandro mariscos' which basically meant Alejandro's seafoods.

"What's your deal with seafoods", asked Owen. "It's my favourite, what you don't like seafood", I asked. "No it's just that I'm the sweet foods kind of guy" he said.

We ordered some steamed lobsters, they were silver ranked beasts before their death, the greater the ranks of beasts, the more delicious and expensive they are.

Now they I think about it, I got to apply to the wilderness survival class, the reason why it's a class is because, one may get stranded in an uninhabited planet, so they teach everything from surviving in a jungle, sea or desert.

And the reason why I'm applying for it is so I can learn how to process and prepare beasts. I've been wasting, I could have made some good money especially from the beasts I hunted for points this week.

Anyway let's not get sidetracked, we were deep into our meal when a beautiful girl about our age walked in, she had fiery red hair and was wearing a waitress uniform.

"Dude, that chick is hot", Owen said interrupting my meal. "Thanks captain obvious", I replied. "I'm gonna try my luck", he said. "Don't" I said. "Why?, Just see I'll get her head over heels for me in minutes", he said grinning.

"Sigh, I have a bad feeling about this, aren't you supposed to be acting like a noble or something?", I asked. "Shhh, let me adopt my cool face and breathtaking smile, wish me luck", he said standing up.

Well, long story short, the girl wasn't interested and turned out to be the daughter of Alejandro, the restaurant owner and man he wasn't pleased about his daughter getting pestered, so he sent us packing.

"Well guess what I never even liked your daughter in the first place, how would I fall for an ugly girl?" Owen shouted at Alejandro just after he sent us out.

This got the man furious, steam could be seen literally coming off his body as the veins on his head bulged. "Shit, run", I said to Owen. So we started running with an with an angry father running behind us.

Make no mistake, the man was fast for someone in silver rank, though we finally outran him in the end.

"Damn, I had only started to dig into the main body of the lobster, before you got us kicked out, and it's all your fault" l said after we had gotten away.

"What's wrong with trying to hit on a girl?", he asked. "Everything", I replied. "Well considering this is coming from someone handsome, who at that has never rizzed a girl is understandable", he said making my eye twitch. "Dude is there anything wrong with my face, he asked. "No, why?" I asked.

"Nothing, just thinking why she didn't even seem interested" he muttered. "Maybe the fact that you had a creepy expression on your face at that time helped in her choice" I said.

"It was a cool expression" he countered. "Yeah right, cool expressions are not made, they're natural", I said. "You're just jealous that you're unable to do it" he scoffed.

"That's because I don't need to do it, my expression is naturally cool" I retorted.

"Now that that's out of the way, adventure awaits, I said in the way Luke Wellington did or thought I did until Owen said "The fact that you said that with a straight face is creepy", he cringed. " Not my fault", I sighed, before even that much wasn't possible.

And with that we went around exploring the city.

"This city has a zoo that is said to have exotic beasts, so let's hit there first" I said.

"Aye aye captain" he replied.

Portals are not used inside the city, they can only be used to go in and out of the city. We decided to walk there since we had all the time in the world.

On our way, we came across a museum, apparently it was at the center of the city, the city was named after a city on earth called the lost city of El dorado, it existed about a few thousand years before the emergence, but to humans before the emergence,where the average life expectancy was only about one hundred years, a few thousand years was a long long time.

At the time the city existed,it was said to be the richest city on earth, so the richest city in the human federation was named after it.

The city really is a hub of entertainment, wealth and also business, just from the way the city was, I could tell it was both a day and night city. A city that never sleeps. Along the way we tried the city's specials like the food stalls, Overall the city had a nice vibe to it.

The citizens of the city originated from Earth's continent that was called Europe back in the days.

We arrived at the zoo about two hours later, partly because it was far and partly because we got lost and were too proud to admit it or ask for directions. But in the end it all worked out since we finally reached out destination.

"Hello, welcome to "The Exotic zoo of El Dorado, please draw a ticket from the poll", said a man in a polite tone, who I think is supposed to be a receptionist of sorts.

We picked the so called tickets, and wrapped them around our wrists, like we saw those before us do.

After that we entered inside the zoo, we saw many exotic beasts that were apparently famous for their beauty, but I didn't know anything about them. Like a giant beautiful golden bird that stood at ten meters tall, five meters wide and a wing span of twelve meters.

'If I remember correctly they called it a "celestial phoenix", I didn't even know what the hell a Phoenix was and this one was a celestial one?'.

We were going to the reptile side of the zoo when I felt a familiar presence. I turned to look at the person, it was a plain looking girl with a plain face, with black hair and eyes.

But another familiar thing was her clothes, "shit", I muttered under my breath, I knew who she was.
