(Short Chapter)

Isaac looked over the corpse of the doglike creature with a neutral expression.

He had stayed outside the city for the entire six months never going in.

Even when he obtained a soul shard.

Isaac had more important matters to attend too.

One of his plans was to foster a friendly relationship with Effie which was successful.

Though she seemed not to like hunting in the night so him and Sunny had night shift.

Effie and him would hunt together during the day.

This to a mundane human would be impossible.

There body's needed at least six hours of sleep to function properly.

But Isaac was no longer a mundane human.

He had awakened.

This happened ruffly three and a half months into his stay in the outer city.

He was absorbing soul shards like normal when suddenly he felt a burning sensation from his soul.

He was confused at first.

But then he felt a deep and profound change happen to his body.

In truth he was still confused about what happened still Sunny brought up his change in appearance.

Only then did Isaac put two and two together and realized he had awakened.

Yet that wasn't all.

Only after an extra two months.

When he finally had access to his soul sea did he realize he had also raised in Class as well.

Yet even then that wasn't the only surprise in his soul sea.

Within the soul sea was a giant tree made of silver bark.

Its branches wrapped around glowing white spheres.

Each branch was covered in deep grey leaves.

It was the Soul Devouring Tree.

With a new look…

Isaac was shocked.

He was on edge for a while.

But after a few moments he realized the tree could do nothing.

He didn't even know if it was sentient.

But after a while he felt that it wasn't...

At least not completely...

Though it was still creepy.

But from this he had a few theory's.

One was about how he awakened.

The other was about his rise in Class.

In the Tomb of Ariel he had learned that in ancient times some people used to rise by killing and absorbing soul shards.

Absorbing the shards would slowly change the essence making it rise in quality.

Thus allowing the individual to rise in Rank.

So after almost a year of absorbing Awakened soul shards he rose in Rank.

As for his Class it was quite simple but also had terrifying implications.

After absorbing around one thousand soul shards and elevating his Rank it also made a new soul core.

Of course there was a massive issue.

His Aspect was only Transcended rank.

He would need a divine rank aspect to rise in Class after fully saturating his soul core.

But...

This is were his fears became reality.

I'd he couldn't rise in Class due to his insufficient Aspect rank that only meant one thing.

He wasn't rising in Class like a divine Aspect human...

He was rising in Class like a Nightmare Creature.
