Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Confronting Dignity
Chapter 7: Confronting Dignity
Of course, Leon had no intention of making small talk with the dragoness either.
If he had a sword right now, he would have plunged it into her back without hesitation.
It was a Dragon Slayer's occupational hazard—whenever he saw a dragon, he just wanted to cut it down. There was no helping it.
After about three hours of flight, they finally arrived at a high mountain just outside the Empire's capital.
Rossweise shifted back into her human form, her silver tail wrapping around Leon's waist as they slowly descended onto the treetops.
THUD—
CREAK—
She tossed Leon onto a sturdy tree trunk and casually nodded toward the distant city, "Look, there's your home."
Leon scrambled to his feet and looked out at the Empire.
The capital was lit brightly, and in its center, the Imperial Tower—representing the highest authority in the Empire—stood tall, piercing the clouds with a commanding presence.
Leon couldn't make out the finer details of the city from this distance, but just being able to see it from afar was enough to fill his heart with satisfaction.
Returning home was a primal instinct in all living beings, though humans liked to dress it up with a fancy term: nostalgia.
Perhaps Rossweise wasn't trying to mock Leon after all. Maybe she understood his longing for home, which was why—
Leon turned slowly, intending to ask what her true motive was.
But as soon as he opened his mouth, the sight before him left him speechless.
Rossweise had removed her clothing, now standing in only her bra and panty. Her silver tail swayed slowly behind her as she walked toward him, her bare feet stepping gracefully on the rough bark without showing any signs of discomfort.
Leon instinctively backed away a few steps, "You're not seriously planning to—"
WHIP!
Without warning, Rossweise's tail shot forward.
Leon tried to block it, flailing his arms, but she easily shifted its direction, tripping him up with ease.
As he hit the ground, Rossweise stood over him, her feet planted on either side of his ribcage. With a deft motion, the tip of her tail worked at the belt around his waist.
"Rossweise, I'm warning you, don't push it. I'm not as weak as I was when I first woke up." Leon barked in frustration, trying to sound intimidating.
But Rossweise only smirked, her fingers tracing the dragon mark on her chest.
The once-silver mark now shimmered with a faint purple glow.
A glow that carried an unmistakable, suggestive undertone.
"Two people bearing the same dragon mark—when one of them desires intimacy, the other will feel it too. It itches, burns, and becomes unbearable," Rossweise whispered, settling herself on Leon's abdomen.
"Humans truly are the lowest of creatures. You can't even control your base instincts, can you, my dear Dragon Slayer?"
Before Leon could retort, Rossweise's hand shot up, gripping his throat.
But her grip wasn't tight enough to choke him. Instead, she applied just enough pressure to keep him still, forcing his chin upward and his gaze locked on the distant Empire.
From this angle, the city seemed to be upside down, like a vibrant metropolis suspended in the sky.
"Look at it, Leon Casmodeous. Look at your home while I strip you of your dignity once again."
With those words, Rossweise began her torment anew.
Just as she had said, no matter how well-trained a Dragon Slayer was, no man could resist the biological drive to reproduce.
Especially a man.
CREAK... CREAK... CREAK...
The rhythmic sound of the branches beneath them grated on Leon's ears, each creak more jarring than the last.
The lights of the Empire reflected in his pupils, but the brilliance of those lights couldn't illuminate the fading gleam in his eyes.
"Don't blink, Leon. Keep your eyes on your home."
"Yes, watch~~ Watch it closely!"
"All of your honor, all of your pride—they come from that place. Everything you've ever done has been for that place."
"But now… Hah~—Now tell me, Leon, what are we doing? Hmm?"
"Speak up, Leon. What are we doing? What are we doing, right in front of the Empire you've sworn to protect?"
When Rossweise got emotional, she often lost control.
It wasn't clear if this was because of her personality or the thrill that came with a dragon's revenge.
Leon had no way to resist.
Her silver tail coiled around his body, trapping him.
She was like a seductive viper—enticing, bewitching, yet deadly.
She reveled in her victory, stripping away the last shreds of Leon's dignity with each passing moment.
"Do you see, Leon? You've suffered all this disgrace for your Empire, but I've reduced you to nothing more than a plaything."
"And what has your Empire done for you in return?"
"All you can do now is endure this humiliation while gazing at the land you fought so hard to protect. Neither you nor your Empire can save each other."
"Do you want to keep what's left of your dignity, great Dragon Slayer?"
"Then endure it. Endure it. Endure it all. Understand? Hahaha—!"
CREAK, CREAK, CREAK, CREAK, CREAK—
The branches groaned louder, as if they were on the verge of snapping.
Rossweise's head tilted back, her dragon mark glowing fully purple now.
For a brief moment, she considered snapping this man's ribs in half.
After all, a dragon's excitement was expressed through destruction and devastation.
But she restrained herself.
In the case of dragonkind, only the first instance of reproduction would guarantee pregnancy. After that, they could take certain precautions within twenty-four hours to prevent it.
The success rate was 99.99%.
Rossweise closed her eyes, quietly using magic to eliminate the foreign presence in her body.
After a while, she let out a soft chuckle.
"You've failed, Leon. You, the Empire's most esteemed Dragon Slayer, have disgraced yourself in front of your home with a wicked dragon like me."
"Haha, hahaha—How does it feel? Hmm?"
"Answer me, Leon!"
Answer?
How could he answer?
Right now, Leon felt like nothing more than a pile of useless mud.
Maybe even less than mud.
At least mud couldn't be toyed with like this by a dragoness.
"Your pride and honor? They're long gone. You understand that, right? From now on, you're nothing more than my pet, leashed and bound to me forever."
"Shall we come here every month, Leon? How about that?"
"This way, you'll get to see your home at least once a month."
"Hmm-hmm, hehehe—"
Her laughter was sick, almost crazed.
"Rossweise." Leon's low, hoarse voice cut through her manic laughter.
Though his eyes were dull and lifeless, something inside him still flickered.
"You can humiliate me, trample on me, brand me with your dragon mark, and treat my dignity like trash, but—"
Suddenly, he surged forward, grabbing Rossweise's shoulders with an iron grip, his eyes blazing with fury, roaring like a lion,
"You will never kill the spirit of a Dragon Slayer."
"I will wait. I will bide my time, waiting for the moment to come."
"And when it does, I will repay you tenfold for everything you've done to me."
Rossweise was taken aback by the fire still burning within this man.
But her surprise was fleeting.
She swiftly clamped her hand around his throat, shoving him back down.
"Fine, I'll be waiting for you, Leon Casmodeous. You and I—we will fight until one of us falls."
After exchanging harsh words, neither of them made any further attempts to provoke the other.
Rossweise walked over to where she had discarded her dress, picked it up, and began to slip it back on, unhurried.
Leon, too, started fixing his clothes in silence.
Once they were both dressed, Rossweise turned back to Leon, standing beside him once more. Without a word, her tail wrapped around his waist, lifting him off the ground.
Before Leon could even open his mouth to ask what she was doing, Rossweise spread her wings and leapt gracefully from the top of the tree, landing lightly on the ground below.
Upon landing, she casually tossed Leon aside and started walking toward the other end of the forest. "Let's go."
'Go?'
Leon struggled to his feet, glancing ahead at the deep, dark woods.
It had taken Rossweise at least three hours to fly here from the Silver Dragon Palace, even with her renowned speed.
Was she seriously planning to walk all the way back with him?
After taking a few steps, Rossweise noticed that Leon hadn't followed. She stopped, turning her head slightly. "Hurry up. Our daughter is waiting at home."
She said it so casually.
As if the distance between the Empire and the Silver Dragon Palace was as close as neighbors living upstairs and downstairs.
If they were really going to walk back, by the time they saw little Moon again, she'd probably be a full-grown dragon.
But Leon said nothing. He simply dragged his exhausted body forward, silently following her.
If Her Majesty wanted to enjoy a romantic hike, Leon would play along.
He followed Rossweise at a measured distance, staying to her side but never too close.
However, it was clear Leon had overestimated his current condition.
He had just woken up from a two-year coma and had immediately been drained by this dragoness. Now, what should have been a restful recovery turned into a hike through the cursed forest.
It didn't take long before Leon was drenched in sweat, panting heavily.
He reached a tree, leaning against it with one hand, trying to catch his breath.
Rossweise stopped walking, turning to look at him. "Can't go any further?"
Leon looked up, glaring at her through his exhaustion. "I can still walk."
Rossweise smiled faintly. "If you can't walk anymore, just let me know. I'm not completely heartless."
Hearing this, Leon paused, slightly taken aback.
