Chapter 100: Chapter 81: The Wedding of Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara
Chapter 81: The Wedding of Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara
One month later.
Konoha Village became bustling all of a sudden.
Every household was decorated with lanterns and streamers.
Smiles adorned the faces of every villager.
The reason? None other than the upcoming wedding of the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama.
This showed just how beloved Hashirama was.
"I'm riding on Hashirama's coattails. If it were just me getting married, they probably wouldn't be this happy," said Uchiha Madara, standing with Uchiha Izuna on the Hokage Rock, gazing at the crowds below, a rare look of envy flashing in his eyes.
Izuna shared the sentiment. Being in charge of the Anbu meant wielding great power, but it also distanced people from him. The unique authority of the Anbu naturally caused others to fear him.
"Lord Madara, I don't think that's the case. While it's true that Lord Hashirama is well-respected, many people are also extending their blessings to you."
"Instead of standing here watching from afar, why not join the crowd and listen for yourself?"
"I believe the result will surprise you."
Chu Yang appeared behind the two brothers, smiling as he handed over a scroll. He didn't know what was inside, only that it was entrusted to him by Senju Tobirama to deliver to Madara.
"Kid, I heard you've mastered the secret techniques of the four other ninja villages?" Madara took the scroll from Chu Yang, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Those are secret techniques with completely different chakra natures. Even Tobirama would have a hard time mastering them in just a month, wouldn't he?"
Chu Yang replied earnestly, "I learned them under my teacher's guidance, but I must thank you, Lord Madara. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to study these techniques."
Madara chuckled, "You're flattering both your teacher and me at such a young age—quite the smooth talker."
Chu Yang laughed awkwardly.
Izuna then asked, "Are you here because of the wedding?"
Chu Yang nodded, "The customs of the Senju and Uchiha clans are quite different for weddings. Since you both plan to hold your weddings at the same time, it's important to discuss the details. Otherwise, we might end up making a joke of ourselves."
Madara frowned impatiently, "Didn't I say you could do it however is convenient for you? I don't care about such things."
Chu Yang scratched his head in embarrassment, "The problem is, Lord Hashirama said the same thing..."
"That guy Hashirama!" Madara laughed in frustration, shaking his head helplessly. He then nodded, "Fine, I'll talk to him and make sure everything is settled so you young ones won't have any trouble."
Relieved, Chu Yang expressed his gratitude, "Thank you so much, Lord Madara."
Suddenly, Madara's gaze lingered on Chu Yang for a moment before he said slowly, "From now on, stop calling me 'lord.' Just call me 'teacher,' like you do with Hashirama."
Chu Yang froze, confused by the sudden change.
His hesitation caused Madara's expression to darken, and in a cold voice, he asked, "What? Am I not as strong as Hashirama, so I'm not qualified to be your teacher?"
The chilling atmosphere snapped Chu Yang out of his stupor. He immediately waved his hands, "I didn't mean that at all! It's just so sudden—I'm a bit overwhelmed..."
"Brother, stop scaring him," Izuna laughed, trying to lighten the mood. "He can't make that decision on his own. You should discuss it with Lord Hashirama first."
"Fair enough," Madara nodded, backing off.
Chu Yang couldn't shake the feeling that the two brothers were playing good cop, bad cop, seemingly testing him.
"Tobirama-sensei just received word that the other four Kage will attend the wedding to offer their blessings."
Chu Yang quickly brought up the main reason for his visit, eager to distance himself from the brothers.
"Blessings? It's because Hashirama is marrying Uzumaki Mito, the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki, that they feel uneasy, isn't it?" Madara sneered. "They just want to come and assess Konoha's situation—they still haven't given up!"
"Let them come! After this wedding, any remaining ambitions they have will be completely crushed!"
With that, Chu Yang made his exit.
Watching him leave, Izuna turned to Madara and asked, "Brother, weren't we supposed to take things slowly? Why did you suddenly become so impatient?"
Madara shook his head, "I just wanted to test the boy's attitude. If he's unwilling to become my disciple, how could he possibly marry a woman from the Uchiha clan in the future?"
Izuna sighed, "You've really gone through a lot for the sake of the clan's continuation."
Madara smiled, "The current situation is good enough. As for Yang... well, I suppose it's my greed. I've never been jealous of Hashirama, except when it comes to taking on a disciple..."
After chatting for a while longer, the two brothers headed to the Hokage's office, where Tobirama was currently handling affairs. Everything would return to normal only after the wedding.
The news that the other four Kage would personally attend delayed the wedding by a few more days.
A few days later, delegations from the four major countries began arriving in Konoha, while smaller nations, led by the Land of Iron, formed an alliance to celebrate the wedding.
Konoha's allocation of the Seven-Tails to these smaller nations was a great favor, as it allowed them to unite into a force strong enough to stand against the five great nations. This was the most practical way to achieve peace.
If the attendance of the four great nations signaled fear and submission, the alliance of the smaller nations represented genuine gratitude and blessing. Chu Yang could tell just by looking at their faces.
As the four Kage passed by Chu Yang on their way to the Hokage's reception room, they no longer had the friendly expressions they once did. The mere existence of the Nine-Tails had shattered their sense of security.
As Hashirama's only personal disciple, Chu Yang was responsible for receiving these important guests. After they entered the room, Chu Yang stood guard until Tobirama arrived, accompanied by the Uchiha brothers.
These three were probably the most intimidating figures in all of Konoha! Hashirama wasn't there; evidently, they considered him a hindrance. With his good-natured personality, he'd likely interfere with their plans.
Chu Yang suddenly felt sorry for the four Kage, who were about to face an impossible situation—they wouldn't be able to win in words or in battle.
Tobirama patted Chu Yang on the shoulder before pushing open the door and entering. Madara and Izuna followed closely behind.
The chilling atmosphere made Chu Yang's skin prickle. He quickly closed the door, preserving what little dignity the four Kage had left.
Chu Yang stood outside the room, not hearing a sound—an eerie silence.
The future Second Kage of each village also stood outside, looking even more anxious than Chu Yang.
Time passed slowly. No one outside dared to even breathe too loudly.
Creak...
The door finally opened.
The guards outside rushed forward.
Chu Yang turned and saw the four Kage slowly walking out. Whether it was his imagination or not, their faces seemed a bit pale.
Without saying a word, the Kage left in a hurry, accompanied by their guards.
Chu Yang entered the room and found Tobirama and the Uchiha brothers sitting calmly.
Grinning, Chu Yang said, "Judging by their reactions, Sensei must have said something quite significant."
Tobirama's lips curled slightly, while Izuna chuckled, "Indeed, we gave them quite a scare."
"We just reminded them of reality so they wouldn't embarrass themselves later."
Madara stood up, his voice cold, "Fools. The current peace exists only because we allow it. If they can't even understand that simple fact, yet still dare to negotiate with us..."
"What terms did they propose?" Chu Yang asked, surprised.
Tobirama's eyes flashed coldly, "They want one member each from the Senju, Uchiha, and Hyuga clans..."
"Tch, aiming for the Bloodline Limits, are they?" Chu Yang shook his head in exasperation, "They're really greedy."
Izuna sneered, "So, we gave them a warning."
Chu Yang, now amused, joked, "I just hope those lords still feel like attending the wedding."
Tobirama stood up, his words laden with meaning, "Oh, they will."
Three days later.
The grand wedding finally took place.
As Tobirama predicted, the four Kage attended with smiles on their faces, showing no sign of reluctance. In fact, they looked happier than they might at their own weddings.
The four newlyweds—Senju Hashirama and Uzumaki Mito, Uchiha Madara and a woman named Uchiha Mai—were wed before countless witnesses.
Chu Yang wasn't sure if Madara liked this woman, but at least he didn't seem to dislike her.
...
In the world of Bleach.
A long time had passed since the incident with Honkawa Yosuke.
Karakura High School had just finished its midterm exams.
Unsurprisingly, Chu Yang ranked first in the class.
Kurosaki Ichigo ranked third in the class.
In the overall school rankings, Chu Yang still held first place, while Ichigo dropped to fifteenth.
With excellent academic and athletic abilities, Chu Yang wasn't sociable and often kept to himself. His classmates frequently compared him to Ichigo, who shared a similar style.
In a way, Ichigo had become a backdrop for Chu Yang.
Though Ichigo claimed not to care when others asked him about it, he was actually more curious about Chu Yang than any other classmate, mainly because they hadn't witnessed Chu Yang fight a Hollow with his bare hands—something Ichigo vividly remembered.
"Why is he so strong? And what was that 'Fullbring' the Soul Reaper mentioned that day? Do I have a similar power?"
These questions had plagued Ichigo recently. Previously, he had no interest in power, but Chu Yang's presence had sparked a subtle competitive desire in him.
Just as Ichigo was brooding over his rivalry with Chu Yang, he coincidentally ran into Rukia, who was chasing a Hollow.
Initially, Ichigo didn't plan to get involved, but thoughts of Chu Yang compelled him to follow. Ichigo then found the Hollow attacking his family.
By a stroke of luck, Ichigo's arrival caused the Hollow to shift its target. Ichigo tried to fight it off but was easily sent flying, realizing he wasn't a match for it.
"So this is what it feels like to fight a Hollow?"
Covered in blood but still conscious, Ichigo's mind replayed images of Chu Yang battling the Hollow. "Why could he do it, but I can't?"
Just as Ichigo was about to be killed, Rukia stepped in at the last moment, taking a fatal blow for him.
"Idiot! If you keep spacing out, you won't be able to protect your family!"
Ichigo snapped back to reality and quickly asked Rukia what to do next. Rukia stabbed her Zanpakutō into Ichigo, transferring all of her Soul Reaper powers into him.
Ichigo became a Soul Reaper!
Facing the Hollow's aggressive assault, Ichigo raised his Zanpakutō, releasing a terrifying spiritual pressure that spread like liquid mercury.
With a single slash, Ichigo cut the Hollow cleanly in half!
But before Ichigo could feel any excitement, he blacked out. When he awoke, it was already the next morning. Strangely, neither his father nor his sisters remembered anything about the previous night.
"Was it just a dream?"
Looking at his house, which looked like it had been hit by a tornado, Ichigo dismissed that thought. The events of the previous night were real.
On his way to school, Ichigo occasionally stared at his hands, unable to believe that these hands had killed a Hollow the night before.
"I wonder... in my Soul Reaper form, am I stronger than Yang?"
Curious, Ichigo pushed open the classroom door and, to his surprise, saw Rukia standing beside Chu Yang, the two chatting and laughing. She was even wearing a school uniform!
"What's going on?"
During lunch break, the three gathered on the school rooftop. Rukia explained her current situation to Ichigo and Chu Yang, revealing that Ichigo had absorbed all her powers.
Chu Yang, who already knew the whole story, casually cleaned his ears. "I'll be staying here for a while until I recover my powers. I hope you can keep this a secret."
Rukia nervously glanced at Chu Yang, unsure of how he would respond, as he didn't seem like the easy-going type in her mind.
"I understand. If there's nothing else, I'll head back." Chu Yang yawned, walking toward the stairwell.
"You're just going to agree like that?" Rukia asked, dumbfounded.
"What else would I do?" Chu Yang replied, puzzled, before walking off.
Turning to Ichigo, Rukia said, "I thought he would ask for something since I'm a Soul Reaper."
"He's not that kind of person," Ichigo shook his head and headed for the stairs. "Anyway, I should go back..."
Before Ichigo could finish speaking, he felt a sharp punch to the back of his head. "You sneak-attacked me!" Ichigo turned around angrily, only to find his body lying on the ground, realizing he had turned into his spirit form.
"You've only just become a Soul Reaper. There's a lot you don't know, so you'll need some extra lessons."
Meanwhile, Chu Yang, who knew how the story was unfolding, was contemplating whether he should get involved. He was particularly interested in the powers of Zanpakutō and Kidō. He figured that the best way to obtain those powers was to follow Ichigo into the Soul Society.
Lost in thought, Chu Yang didn't notice when he bumped into a student while going downstairs. Surprisingly, neither of them got hurt. It was like two walls colliding.
Chu Yang looked up at the tall boy before him—Chad!
Recently, Chad had been troubled. Ever since he received a parrot from a friend, his life had taken a turn for the worse. From nearly being hit by falling objects to almost getting run over, he found himself narrowly escaping death several times.
