Star King Chronicles

Chapter 2: On A Certain Day

A child with long white hair carried a blonde woman through the woods. If anyone were to see them, they would not know if they were a girl or a boy, but they would know that they were beautiful.

They were naked for a brief moment but, with haste, clothed themselves with fig leaves.

The child looked down at the unconscious woman they were holding up. She seemed to be in deep pain from how she was breathing heavily.

"Don't worry, I'll save you!"

They knew that the woman they held in their arms was their mother, and right now, they needed to help her.

The child ran fast, dashing through the forest with the speed of the wind, trying to find some water for her to drink, as she just lost a lot of fluids, as well as anyone to take care of her, for they did not know how to aid her medically.

They followed the giant glowing tree in the distance as they felt a kinship to it. However, it wasn't long until a voice called out to them.

"Halt! In the name of the Great Marquis! You hold in your hands the woman we are looking for!"

The child stopped in their tracks and looked to the source of the voices, which were soldiers who wore bright coral armor that covered their body from head to toe. In their hands were long swords in the shape of leaves.

They quickly surrounded the child, numbering in half a dozen. "Drop her and leave right now."

The child could sense their malicious intent. Whatever they planned to do with their mother was not good at all.

"No, I would never give any of you my mother, not in this state. She needs to be taken care of."

The soldiers all took a step forward. "Mother? You must be her daughter, then? Or perhaps, son… we were not informed of this. It does not matter, that means we would take you in as well! Don't try to resist."

The child lifted their mother's face to his. "Am I your son or daughter?"

The woman's voice could barely be heard, but luckily, since the child listened closely, he heard her say. "My son." While she rubbed her stomach.

"I understand!" The boy nodded as he took on the role of her son.

He turned to look at the advancing soldiers. "No, I will resist, for I am your savior and king! You dare try to do anything to me or my mother, and you shall be punished!"

For a brief moment, all the soldiers were stunned, dumbfounded at what this boy just said.

"Thank you." The boy gave them a wide smile and began to walk away, only to be stopped by one of the soldiers blocking his path.

"You're not going anywhere except to our master. Last chance, kid, give it up, and we won't have to resort to force."

The boy shook his head. "No, and if force is how you shall come at me with, then with force is how I shall treat you all!"

His eyes shimmered gold as he slammed his foot into the ground, causing a massive crater to erupt and blow back all of the soldiers around him, sending them flying into the trees and breaking them apart.

The blonde woman groaned, shifting in her sleep. It was clear that any unnecessary movements could have made her feel worse and the boy desired to avoid that at all cost.

The soldiers all groaned, unable to move from the sheer force that was displayed.

"Good, now stay there and repent! I didn't want to use a lot of force because it would have woken my mother up!" He walked away, still determined to find anyone that could help.

However, it was not going to be so easy. Several soldiers heard the eruption and ran towards the area, weapon in hand.

The boy could already sense that more men were coming after his mother. It was quite bothersome; can't they see that she needed help?

Then, a bright idea popped into his mind. He should follow where they're coming from. They must have a camp here somewhere!

He turned to the approaching soldiers who had not even seen him yet and dashed in their direction.

Whenever he passed a soldier, he would kick them so hard that his foot would go through their metal armor and send them flying off in another direction, using them as platforms.

This continued until he made it to the beach, where he found a group of maids and butlers tied up and gagged on the ground, surrounded by even more soldiers.

They seemed to be coming from a group of ships that docked themselves nearby.

The boy looked to the servants who were bound. They should know how to help his mother, right?

He then jumped towards the beach and landed right in front of them. "Hi, these people are going to help my mother now!"

The boy laid his mother onto the lap of one of the maids. He patted her head as he gave all of the maids and butlers a big smile on his face, trying to comfort them.

All the soldiers surrounding the servants immediately raised their swords, but at this point, the action was futile on their part.

The young boy kicked up sand into the air and, with extreme precision and accuracy, punched each and every grain into the soldiers with such force and speed that it broke through their armor, knocking them all out in mere moments.

He turned towards the servants and gave them all a thumbs up before he undid their gags and binds.

"Can you please help my mother? She just gave birth to me, and she looks really sick."

The butlers and maids all stared at him; their jaws slackened at what he had just said and what they had just witnessed.

The boy tilted his head, confused at the response that he was given. "Can you please help her? I'm not sure what to do-"

He stopped talking as he noticed a dark and ominous presence in the water beginning to approach him. He stood protectively between the presence and the servants behind him.

The waters bubbled, boiling over as a tall black-haired figure rose out from it. They wore a dark suit with a tie and had a van dyke beard on his chin, which he stroked. He was surrounded by several more guards who rose up with him.

The boy raised his hand up and pointed to him. "Who are you? If you intend to hurt my mother while she's resting, I'm going to have to stop you!"

The man gave a small laugh as he walked towards the boy. "Mother… interesting. I am Marquis Forenus, now who may you be, child?"
