Chapter 8: And Bring Peace Forevermore
The trip lasted around a day, with Nasiah staying close to Myrym on the upper docks, making sure they were as far away as possible from the crew members.
She still was rather untrusting of any of them, especially with her son nearby.
Nasiah, meanwhile, just smiled and waved at all of them. A lot of them waved back before moving away from Myryrm's glare as fast as they could.
However, one crew member who she could not have glared away was Forcas. She was sent to watch over them on the whole trip.
Myrym tried to shield Nasiah from her the whole time during the trip. The she-wolf found that amusing. She grew a slight desire to take the boy away just to see her reaction, but she decided against that because her master might find that distasteful.

They finally made it to their destination at nightfall. The moon shone in the sky alongside all of the stars, illuminating the port base that they docked in.
It was a large settlement of small yet wide buildings made of sandstone that were shrouded by a transparent dome-like energy structure.
There were multiple soldiers in the base, each one bowing their heads to both the Great Marquis and his right-hand companion. Several of them eyed Nasiah and Myrym, but they walked away out of respect for their leader.
Forenus and Forcas led them towards the largest building, opening up the doors as the former looked back to Nasiah.
"We're going to have to get you equipped first before you fight in the war. You need proper armor and weapons to fight out there especially since we can't teach you Magick as of this moment."
Magick was not something so easily taught as just to say a few words or create gestures. It was a complex system that could only be passed down through certain individuals.
Nasiah gave a smile and a nod. "Oh? So, can any armor here fit me? I'm rather small."
Forcas laughed and entered the building. "We're going to have to make some kind of custom armor to make sure it fits you without it being too clunky."
The boy followed her along with his mother. They looked around, finding themselves inside an armory filled with racks of weapons and mannequins that wore metal plate armor in coral designs.
"I'll be getting a weapon. Will it also be designed for me?"
Forenus gave him a nod as he unlocked a door in the building and walked downstairs. "Correct, you will be given fine-tuned equipment to ensure your capabilities are maximized. Follow me to the forge room."
Nasiah, Myrym, and Forcas all walked downstairs with Forenus. Halfway through, the temperature increased dramatically, and the sound of metal being hammered down echoed throughout the stairway.
Once they got to the end, they all found themselves in a room filled with men and women in robes crafting weapons and armor around red-hot forges.
When the blacksmiths found themselves in the presence of their lord, they bowed their head
Forenus raised his hand up, allowing them to continue. "Here, we will take your measurements and create what you will need. Do you have anything specific you would like?"
The young boy gave the idea a bit of thought before he nodded his head. "Well, nothing much; I just want it to be flexible on me, and oh, it needs to look amazing, please!"
His body sparkled with excitement, and he swayed his head from side to side. The joy was infectious and caused the workers to laugh.
"Don't worry, we will do our best to provide for a warrior of our lord. Do you have any weapon requests?"
Nasiah perked up at the question. "Oh, a sword, please. That would be nice, something that I can always carry around."
The workers nod. A few of them surrounded the boy and took his measurements.
Myrym watched; however, she realized that if he fought House Yuseff, reports would be made about him. If that happened, then they might try to arrest him when they enter their land. She can't have that happen.
"May I make a request for him?"
The blacksmiths all first faced Forenus, who gave them a nod. "Anything you would desire?"
"I would like to propose that the armor covers my son's identity. In any way possible, please."
It was a reasonable request, and so they all agreed and started to work on the request.
Forenus led the group back up the stairs and out of the armory. "They're going to be working for quite some time; it's not a quick job even for the best of blacksmiths. Let's take this moment to scout ahead and show you how a war is fought."
He turned to face Myrym. "We're going to get close to an active battlefield. It's best that you stay here."
The Great Marquis needed a method to get Myrym away from Nasiah. It was in his best interest to ensure that the boy was with him above all.
"I would rather stay and watch over my son as much as possible." Myrym could already tell that Forenus was trying to separate her from her son. She would never have that happen.
Nasiah gave a happy little nod. "Yes! Mother is safest when she's with me!"
The Great Marquis raised his eyebrows. He couldn't argue back in that regard. He needed to dissuade her as much as possible. But that could be done later rather than sooner at this point in time.
"As you wish. I hope you are able to keep up. We are going to sprint towards the north to save as much time as possible. We'll start slow so that you can catch up."
He turned to nod at Forcas as both of them ran northwards at incredible speeds, leaving both mother and son in the dust.
Nasiah shook his body like a dog and carried his mother like a princess, giving her a reassuring smile as he ran towards both the Great Marquis and his knight.
